I hate companies that hide behind the "Made in USA" label, if it was actually a high quality product you wouldn't need to remind us constantly. Where a product is manufactured has no bearing, its all about initial material and production quality. Many "high-end Made in America" companies still buy their materials from the same cheap Chinesium material stock and then charge us extra cause it was put together at home. If you want my business, act like it, dont sit on your ass and ride your name.
To an extent yes but in many cases everything has a stupid mark up on them just because greed. I mean, I have 188 passes on a 5.3 with a completely stock minus replacing the rings and a chinese 76/78. I'm running 5 second 1/8 mile passes for the price that wouldn't even buy a set of heads from Mast Motorsports. There's guys running barely a second faster than me with 50k dollar engines. More money and 'better" parts aren't always the best financial decision.
IDK why, but I don't know if I'd buy Made in USA if I had the choice. Made in Germany or made in Japan is more something I'd trust, but that's probably down to me being German
Good luck finding "made in germany" lol. Looks like you're being "deindustrialized" as we speak. And just wait until the Bundesbank collapses in another 18 months or so, then you'll see the process accelerate to warp speed.
I use to race lawnmower at winterport. I won two championships back to back. I had the fastest tractor that ever ran there. But i cant race anymore due to health issues. Do you have any intetest in buying a tractor? It has a very hoped up gx390 i built with a LOT of stuff done to it. I also have several custom ground cams for it
Thanks for the video, I didn’t even know they were Chinese knockoffs billet rods for upgrades. This will cheapen the upgrades for the kids minibike and yard go carts. I hope they bring a billet side plate. I may swap out the rod and put a cast flywheel on my pressure washer too
I will say that when I can afford to do so, I will pay more for a product made by a smaller business. I feel better knowing that I’m paying for some upstanding hard working American’s food than paying pocket change for underprivileged people in China working in inhumane conditions. That extra $20 for a connecting rod is probably not going into the owners pockets, most likely it’s overhead. Pretty expensive to run a business stateside. But, obviously sometimes my philosophy doesn’t work out. And in certain cases it can be detrimental- everything attachments used to be a company in North Carolina building tractor implements that were very high quality- until they decided to close their doors and take everybody’s money after declaring bankruptcy and being over 1.5 million in the hole. Insult to injury, they basically told their customers to go enjoy their intimate natures when asked for a refund. So caution is best used in healthy doses.
When we buy American we are supporting Americans (working Americans not the shitty kind). We are not just supporting the manufacturer but their suppliers, local to machine shops... Giving them the ability to pay employees and hopefully shop local themselves. If $100 bucks is the difference in a string America or a stronger “Chyna” I’ll spend the extra.
An American small business will always have a higher price than a product that was "stolen" by the Chinese and then distributed by the largest "monopoly" in the world Amazon, period. American companies cannot compete with the lower wages that Chinese companies pay. If we have this attitude with every company, we will all be screwed in the end. We should all support small American business as much as possible. I'm no better myself, and I still by Chinese crap from Amazon, but we are putting more and more smaller businesses out. If ARC didn't invest in the business when they did, we as engine builders and racers would be a lot worse off. They do have great product, and I for one don't believe that their billet flywheels or connecting rods are that over priced. It is a lot of cnc machining, tight tolerances, along with the price of the billet. They have to pay their operators, cover their overhead, and still make a profit. I will try to continue to purchase from ARC and other small businesses as much as I can. I wish we could bring back American manufacturing and material factories back from overseas to help build our middle class again.
I personally like the arc rods but for the flywheel I go with dyno cams pvl flywheel I had one get damaged and it didn’t fail I got a new one for safety reasons but I’m also running 7000 + rpm’s
I totally agree. Anyone building an entry-level engine doesn't need a 9k rod and flywheel. Their money is better spent on clutch, tires and valve train stuff.
"Made in the USA" is not an excuse for anything. If it's more expensive, it should be proportionately better. The stuff coming out of China now, isn't what it was 20 years ago. It may not be the best... but in most cases, it's viable. Let's face it. Not everybody needs race quality. Most of us just want it to work. If I can get 80% of the function/longevity, for 50% of the cost, I'm getting the Chinesium.
I am a small engine mechanic, I cannot speak for those racing parts you mentioned but when it comes to the engines, nothing made in America holds a candle to what the Chinese are building right now. At this point I have had better luck with predator than I have with Honda even. I send a lot of 1 season Briggs mower engines to the scrap yard, the worst was a whole millimeter of cylinder wear in only three months of use.
@@RCGRacing I now have yet another mower to throw on the scrap pile, they bought it summer before last, used it two seasons and it is locked up tight. Crankshaft has considerable side to side play at the bottom side. Briggs was never a super high quality engine but they used to at least last, though needing consistent attention.
ARC is scared of other competitors I think. ARC....shame on you! I buy what ever suites my needs. I do budget builds and I do higher end builds so I buy from various sources including Amazon. May have to put ARC on my no go list 😡
To be clear I think their product is best on the market. But I also think they need to expand to lower market price points for sub 7kRPM. As I said in the video I turn Duromax 440 cast rods with bearings to 6400 for hours. Why does no one else have a cast bearing option?

Agree, made in USA is not a good reason to pay more. Superior quality, more strength, etc., benefits that can be measured and proven are the reason.
I SEE A LIFT IN THE GARAGE!!! ... HECK YA RCG!!!
Game on!
Buy cheap parts get cheap parts.

I make stuff in the USA. My stuff rocks.

You said it best. Mower politics 101 haha
There is a lot of competition now days.
Now days?
Tell it like is bottom line money. Thanks

Xi says what?
900% Agree

When you buy cheap, it ends up being expensive in the long run. No, thank you. I'll stay with American made quality.
LOL your putting the shit in a Chinese motor.
@lockburner2000 It's "(you're) putting" not (your) putting. See if the Chinese can help you spell with those cheap Chinese parts, lol.

ARC isn't "scared", Xi.
Besides, by the time the new tariffs go through your Chinese products will cost more here than our own, much better, products.
