Hey guys, just wanted to say that you are criminally underrated. I just moved into a bigger space so now I have a shelf were I can keep games so I've just been binging youtube game reviews are recomandations like crazy and your channel has some of the best production and usefull information out of all of them. I hope you will keep growing because honestly it's sad how little subscribers you have compared to all the work you put in the videos. On a side note, when will you make another shelfies review video?
I agree with everything you had to say about this. I think they could've put most of this stuff in the game IF they didn't have it spread out across 5 different shared played areas (the map, monolith, ritual tracks, worker spaces, animal cards, and tribe cards) and individual player boards. If they came up with a way to put the animals and monoliths on the map, and even have the development of your rituals on the map as well, it'd have gone a long way to making the game feel more cohesive and all the disparate parts more connected and interrelated and not so "too muchy".
How does it compare to Dune: Imperium? I remember people comparing it to Dune: Imperium and Lost Ruins of Arnak when it was announced. Haow coukd you forget about Dune: Imperium when suggesting for vest alternative? 🤣
I have bought this game when it came out and after the second play I had feeling "hmm I dont know if this game will last". And indeed it did not. There are aspects that I like but the huge table space, setup made the game not acessible. On top of that each game felt really simillar for me, because I feel like you have to do everything every game because single mechanism will not give you much points. Also the deck building feels soulless, you are just putting ton of cards and it feels like ultimately it does not matter what you get. But I really really like the WP spots. The fact that you can repeat action until you want is unique and enjoyable. But Im glad that people really enjoy this game! for me it is not that bad. I just have games that I would rather play. And the fact that this is the first game for this publisher is just insane.
We had the exact same issues you mentioned. The deck building is underwhelming, most are the same cards over and over again. The worker placement spots are too limited. And it just tries to do too much without being really good at anything. It just felt messy in design. It's a real shame too, because I like the designer, the artist, the publisher, and the manufacturer. It's pedigree is top notch. The All-In from the KS was great production. But the gameplay fell flat and I sold it while I could get top dollar.
The same feeling, game is beautiful, but for experienced players ... meh. Action results are not exciting, card abilities too. And you can "explore" everything almost in your first play
@@ScytheNoire Ah yes, that sums it perfectly. Trying to do everything, but nothing is outstanding. Every mechanic is just surface level. But i must say that they incomporated these mechanic well and they fit into each other fine.
Should use „Left Janis / Right Janis“ 😂 Not only do people immediately know who you are without having to rewind to the intro - You can have awesome nicknames: LJ and RJ 😁
The game looks good.. but I’m more interested in their Unconscious Mind game. So I may wait for that. Great review! Are y’all gonna hop back to podcasts? Been missing y’all there.
I think the cards should have been 25 percent smalleras well as the hexes that make up the terrain board and the main board. Cant really fit a four player game on my table its so big.
Surprised you didn't compared it to Dune and Arnak) I know this 2 games and kinda don't want to learn a new game with the same mechanics when I haven't played Dune and Arnak a lot
Well, those are kind of obvious comparisons. And I do not think they do justice to none of the three games as all of them are very different. My personal top for these would be 3. Arnak 2. Endless Winter 1. Dune Imperium. /Jānis G.

The best description of a "point salad" game I've heard yet. Cheers, Janis!
Glad you enjoyed it! ;) /Jānis G.

Гра, в яку просто запхнули все. Я собі не взяв у колекцію.
This is the most fun Endless Winter review I have watched! Keep up the awesome job, guys!

Great review! Are y’all gonna hop back to podcasts? Been missing y’all there.
As you can see, there is time... LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too much boards and crap around the table, aaaagh
That's my definition of every gamers game ;)

It take a lot of table space, it's quite inconvenient.
I liked the joke with HEAT in the background. 😂 Great review guys. 👍 I'm also looking forward to the warmer review. 😜
nice Outkast reference
Nice video. I like the format!
Glad you enjoyed it!
On a side note, what's your review of Everything Everywhere All at Once
A little late lol I literally just purchased this game
“I can go to the toilet and get points” 😂😂😂 Classic!!!
Could either of you speak to the solo mode?
Have you guys played with the expansions? If so what do you think of them?
Just the small ones, that are easy to add, like Aurora Borealis and Canine Familiars. Those are great.
