Really solid choice for your voice! I’d mentioned PJ Harvey (who may be the single most talented songwriter/performer on this planet). I’m not sure what you know about her but I’d say she’s a stunning woman to have in your musical life. One of her earlier efforts is “C’mon Billy” which, given a slight rearrangement, might suit you beautifully. It needs a bit of a softening and/or slowed-down tempo to become yours. Of course, I could be wrong - but it’s a great “story song” and that’s something we need more of these days. Check RUclips for many interpretations of it. Regardless of your feelings, try to get your hands on her 2000 album “Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea.” It is her masterpiece - and I never use that word. Never. Oh, Thom Yorke is featured on one gorgeous song “The Mess We’re In.”
