Checkout the channel here: youtube.com/@FailingtoDiscover See you there. And I wish you all keep growing in Meditation. My next vipassana experience (11th course!) that I'll be having somewhere in August /October, I'll be sharing on this new channel! 🙏
What are the returning options?? How to get back to Leh City from the centre? I have attended 4 vipassana course courses in 4 different centers but this place is isolated from rest world & looking so peaceful in this video so I would like to attend my next course here. Please reply I am eagerly waiting for your reply 🙏
Hi Anshul! You will have no issues when returning on same day as other folks will be returning. The center keeps numbers of shared SUV cabs drivers. On 10th day when noble silence breaks and people go to office area for books, donation etc, there you will find a dhamma server noting down names of those who would like to have a shared cab and he/she will group you with 4/6 other meditators who too will be going by it. It will cost around 200/300 rupees. So dont worry . Wish you a very fruitful course there.
I am thinking of going in leh vipassana can you please tell me will the cold weather will be harsh or does it snow in mid january. Thanks for your time sir😊
Awesome! January will be cold and harsh. Sub zero temps possible at night and early mornings.. if you are accustomed to such cold or are okay with cold temperatures then it wont be an issue. Also remember, the rooms are constructed keeping such harsh weather conditions in mind. So even though it would be cold outside, rooms would be sufficiently warm. They have used good architectural designs to keep rooms warm even in harsh temperatures. Rooms have double glass walls that capture and sustain heat and roofs have wood that insulate the rooms. So you will feel quite warm in rooms and dhamma hall. If you have stuffy nose problems in winter then it might affect your meditation practice. If you dont have it, you can give it a try. Afterall its rare to take out such a time from one's schedule. So one should go whenever one can. Hope it helps 🙏
Hi. Bathrooms dont have a hot water line. One needs to get it from the solar hot water tank from outside via buckets as I showed in video. Its not difficult to manage. Since Ladakh remains relatively cold throughout the year, we do not sweat much there. And as such its not needed to bathe daily. For normal use cases like brushing teeth or washing hands or face, cold water line suffices. If still needed, one can keep one hot water bucket always in bathroom.
Sorry for late response! November will be quite cold! Near zero temps. Ranging +5 to -2 at night and early mornings.. if you are accustomed to such cold or are okay with cold temperatures then it wont be an issue. Also remember, the rooms are constructed keeping such harsh weather in mind. So even though it would be cold outside, rooms would be sufficiently warm. They have used good architectural designs to keep rooms warm even in harsh temperatures.
Hi Anshul! Thats a great news! One can reach the center ideally between 11 AM to 2 PM. One should not get delayed beyond 6PM as then the course related activities start. You can book flight times as per your convenience. Having a flight that lands during day time will be beneficial for commutting and settling down. Ensure that you arrive atleast 1 day before the course starts to acclimatize yourself. It is important! And yes, Wish you a very fruitful course!
Yes. Majority rooms, if not all, will have western toilet. I presume so as it is the standard of all vipassana centers built in last decade. The room bathroom has both toilet and bathing facility. Showers wont have hot water supply. You would have to use buckets and mug for bathing.
Yes. I think it is right to say so. First line of Wikipedia on ladakh says similar words too - "Ladakh (/ləˈdɑːk/)[10] is a region administered by India as a union territory[1] and constitutes an eastern portion of the larger Kashmir region" Moreover, before becoming union territory, it was a part of J&K state. So right to say that it is a region of Kashmir state in those Days too.

No. You can go to Leh as well as vipassana center without any permit needs. Permits are only needed for going outside Leh to other parts of Ladakh.

perfume and books are not allowed yet you are using them. Don't visit such places if your soul is dirty.
