That was my 1st thought aswell, until I heard this track on a rave, it was on a beach rave, the sun came slowly up and this tune banged out of the speakers, just wow!
There was a band version of the Innerzone Orchestra that included a former drummer for Sun Ra - I saw them twice in SF - they were excellent. They put out one album
Make a joyful racket to the Lord. This is just such an awesome groove, no matter the tempo, the synths are the wildest this side of Sun Ra and pretty much all the remixes I' ve come across over the years are great too. Definitely one of the key tunes in Carl Craig's extensive output
YES I GAVE IT A THUMB DOWN BECAUSE I THINK IT IS POSSIBLY, NATURALLY, AURALLY, SEXY AND NOT SPOKEN ABOUT ENOUGH. THE DRUMS AND CHORDS STILL TRANSPORT ME ELSEWHERE. THE THUMB DOWN IS ONLY TO GET FOLK TALKING ABOUT THE HEAVENLY CREATIONS OF MR. CRAIG AND PLANET E! A DELIGHTFUL BRAIN BATH @ SPEEDS OF 45 OR 33. Y'ALL DIGG?
Anyone who is looking for the first D&B records should check the " The Jungle ep" by DJ Phantasy (91) and LTJ Bukm "Logical Progression" on VTR records (I think) which has been suggested to have been recorded in (89)
The dirtbombs just did a cover on this for Party Store. A covers album of obscure Detroit Techno music. Their cover sounds nothing like this... just curious what the fans think of the remake. see soundcloud
No!! LOL, Carl Craig, Carl Craig is a Detroit-based producer of techno music, and is considered to be one of the most important names in the Detroit second generation of techno producers and DJs. (I must admit, Carl looks a tiny bit as Tiger Woods)
those drums!!!😎
First time hearing, sounds totally fresh. Timeless, ecstatic
Total bliss! I came here via Wikipedia's entry on the history of D&B. Loving this.

Could have come out in the 60s

To DarkShroom,
This track is not Drum N Bass more a Jazz'd-up-CC detroit flavour. However, its probably been sampled.
