- "Let It Be Me" is a popular song originally published in French in 1955 as "Je t'appartiens". The score was written and first recorded by Gilbert Bécaud. The lyrics were penned in French by Pierre Delanoë. The English language version used lyrics by Mann Curtis and was performed in 1957 by Jill Corey in the television series Climax!. Corey's version, with orchestration by Jimmy Carroll, was released as a single and was moderately successful.
The most popular version of "Let It Be Me" was released in 1960 by The Everly Brothers. It reached 7th position on the Billboard Hot 100.
Here is our version by Steve Reynolds and me. I hope you like it.

Wow! A soothing music. It brings me to yesteryears memories.
This is the first song I ever played and sang in public. It was with my best friend in high school. We were a big his, but it was a very small school. :) I stopped playing for over 20 years after a stroke partially disabled my left side. I started playing again about 4 years and am doing well, all things considered. The most important thing is, I am having fun and enjoy entertaining others. I am still doing this song, too.
It's great to hear that you fought back to playing again.
I find playing guitar wonderfully therapeutic and enjoyable,

Good for you to pick it back up after so many years. I wish you many more years of good health and playing the guitar hopefully will give you peace. I started playing a little back in my late teens and went to work for GTE and the hours took away my free time, then when I retired I picked it up again in 2012 and play lead guitar for a bluegrass gospel band. We entertain seniors and nursing home patients and are very blessed to do so. God bless you.
