  • 2022 Traders Village Swap Meet Grand Prairie Texas. This is the first swap meet of the year here in Texas if I'm not mistaken. Its promoted by Earhart Productions which has a number of swap meets around Texas. This one is held 3 or 4 times throughout the year at the southwest corner of the traders village parking lot. It's a good little swap meet if you're in or around thr DFW. Every now and then I find a good deal here and I'll usually make a video or two.

    Fun video! And I'm glad that you made out of that accident in one piece, forget the Monte Carlo you're still here the Monte did it's job and protected you so a moment of silence for that Monte that gave up it's existence so that you could be here bringing us these great videos!.

    Benny thanks for the walk along, I watched this prepping for 20" of snow. It will be a while before swap meet season in the Great Lakes area. Those haters just complain cause they are not there. Thanks again.

    Whoa Nelley, looks like it's warm there, not here, it's about 23 degrees in NY and there's a foot or so of snow on the ground.
    That Proto top chest is probably made by Waterloo or it may have been made by MAC. Some of the older Husky units were made by MAC when Stanley Works was supplying HD. I have one, made in Canada. Someone bought a LOT of tools to get that girl clock. LOL.
    I personally enjoy the junkyard runs more than the swap meets as most of that stuff can be bought online now. LOL. Short bed with no bed. LOL. $20k too much for a hooptied up non-Yenko with a decal kit. It probably started life as a six cylinder or a 307. I'm not a fan of deviating from stock much as those trucks look great as they were originally.
    You couldn't get a 400 with an automatic in 1979, so something was swapped along the way. I may have a rare NOS GM "air foil" becoming available for one of those K5 Blazers. My friend found yet more parts in his stash before he sold his house. I'm down to pretty much the inner fender liners and some trim rings. That's it.
    I'm a $15 Walmart jeans guy. They seem to fit well, they last and you can get them easily. I think they're made by Lee or Wrangler or someone. Royal is still in business as Royal Auto Group, 3010 Columbiana Road in Birmingham, AL. Couldn't see the VIN, but it's a 307 V8 in there.
    I don't mind the paint, but that truck is ruined with that set up. Yuck. LOL. Earl Hayes Chevrolet was located at Ninth and Lancaster in Dallas and eventually became Bob Hayes Chevrolet when Earl's son Bob was brought in around 1975. They then moved to Marvin D. Love Freeway and Wheatland Road. Their motto was "Come Our Way, Trade Your Way". Looks like January 1980 on that Chevy wagon plate.
    +1 for the Monte Carlo LS, I liked it as well. My friend's brother bought one new in 1986 and it got stolen if I recall right. It was sharp. He was 6'5" though and had to do the "cuisine lean" to drive it. I was pretty lucky with college: I lived ten minutes from where I went to both undergraduate and graduate school, so it was an easy ride up and back to school. I had no desire to commute to school.

    Yes the Houston traders village swap meet is in March. Usually the middle of the month, spring break time. Conroe is in a few weeks, and Decatur is the end of February. I think the guy who puts on the traders village swap meets has been doing this DFW one in late January the last two years. I wish he would do a couple more meets in Houston at our TV, I'll have to talk to him about that this year. It's usually a good sized meet, worth coming from north Texas to.
    Thanks again for showing us these swap meets the, we can't go to all of them!

      @@ClassicRideSociety the Houston TV meet is usually pretty good size. I've been there every year since 1989 when it started ( except one year I missed cause the whole family was sick). I've been able to find parts for my projects there. I'm on the front row there, and I have an inside space at the Conroe swap meet in a couple of weeks. Hope to see you at one of these shows!

    • @HotWheelsBurban

      @@ClassicRideSociety amen to that! Conroe is always cold ( except for last October meet) but if it rains,no one comes and it's a giant mud bog.

    • @ClassicRideSociety
      @ClassicRideSociety  2 года назад +1

      @@HotWheelsBurban same thing with Decatur. With bad weather, it goes from a swap meet to a swamp meet, especially since they let people ride around on Mini bikes, ATV's and golf carts

      In Texas there are 2 big ones. Decatur last weekend of February and Pate last week of April. If I could only go to one ot would be PATE. Decatur sometimes gets bad weather and becomes a mud fest. Pate is on the parking lot of Texas Motor Speedway. Probably a little more things out there for the ladies.

    that black 2 door 57 chevy said bored over LT1. The engine was a TPI motor. I wonder if the owner doesn't know what he's talking about or is deliberately misrepresenting it
