Gong yoo (the recruiter) is an amazing actor and this episode really proved it. Him acting like a psychopath was not something I expected. Really glad he got more screentime this season.
And on top of that, the film making was amazing. The specific red lighting depicting his insane side and the lichter his so called mask. Pulled it all together perfectly.
1:24 More numbers from Squid Game 1 were not random, also Gi-hun's and Sang-woo's numbers were symbolic. They were ending with 6 and 8, which were the numbers of the horses that Gi-hun betted on and won, those two horses were in the final together just like them, and it was also the date when Gi-hun got the Squid Game invitation, his daughter's birthday and the pin of his mom's credit card.
Little inside on Thanos's character who you will meet in ep 3 or already met but I'm so happy to see T.O.P , the actor's name who plays player 230 aka Thanos, again acting. T.O.P was in the OG boyband called bigbang (really succesful). He has always struggled with his mental health, has been diagnosed depression & anxiety disorder(lots to do with the fame he got since age 18) He has had many haters in the past but in 2017 he smoked a little weed with a friend bc he has high anxiety and the entirety of Korea started a hate train(very conservative country).Shortly after T.O.P tried to unalive himself was fortunately unsuccesful and was treated in the hospital but after that got even more heavily b*llied online again by the whole country(bc he is a big star over there) saying things like "he should've" or sending death threats or similar thing,the media came to the hospital with hundreds of camera's and started berating his mom while recording him was also forced to apologize publicly live for "stressing the fans" bc of his attempt. (how absurd right?).He completely left the industry (eventhough he has successfull music and acting awards) Korea treated him like dirt for smoking a little weed twice in his own home.Harming nobody. He left his whole life behind in Korea, didn't want anything to do with them anymore (rightfully so) after his suic*de attempt and moved to the US and has gotten way better mentally, started acting again and this role(thanos) is basically a dig at how Korea made him out to be, like the korean media made T.O.P out to be this evil,monster ruining wild on drugs when all he did was smoke a little weed in his own home 3 times bc his ex-girlfriend gave him that has help for his anxiety,so now he portrays this psycho character on drugs like how the media slanted his name as a dig to Korea in a very popular show. I'm sorry this has become a very long comment, thought it would be interesting for you guys to know the little inside to his character he plays, also just very happy to see him back acting his butt off and making music again(not released yet)(he is a real rapper irl) after all he has been through and deserves an apology and the best , Love that he's kinda of taking his revenge on his country.(+smoking&drinking alcohol is worse than weed but Korea don't mind those drunk criminals running around but make a witch hunt over some weed.

Most of the cast can actually sing professionally, around three of em are kpop idols, one also being a k-hiphop artist 🫨 Thanos’s actor was previously in one of Korea’s most popular kpop group for years, he actually also suffered with dr*g problems, he’s a pretty cool rapper, very talented. ALSO the rest of the cast has some awesome work and play in some pretty popular dramas 🔥🔥

You should watch the empress it’s a german show and it’s a period drana with romance about the emperors of Austria in the 19th century. That show changed me!

He's not a billionaire, he won 50 billion Won which comes to like 30 million USD. Easy math is chop off 3 zeros and a little less, so the bonus to the loanshark of 1 billion is like $800k. Those loan shark guys wouldn't be considered mafia, more like low level thugs. I had such low expectations for a season 2, but I'm glad I was wrong, I loved it.
