I probably won’t be doing much trapping for a while. The dogs have gone a bit quiet but they should ramp up again in the next few months as the pups get a bit bigger and more independent. Only seen the odd track around lately.
Well done Josh a lot better than having to buy new traps and hope you trap plenty more dogs and maybe you could buy feral cat traps instead having extra costs for ammo .
Yeah I have used brigalow leaves before as they are very high in tannin. Haha I would have loved to throw. Few yabbies in but it would be a wast as I’m allergic to them now. 😞
Different stuff, I only ever boiled my traps about once a year (unless I caught a fox or cat or touched them without gloves)with water and wattle leaves and branches. Never used anything else other than water to wash if springs were getting slow.
That’s what I’ve always done too but every time you hear the springs up they will lose a bit of their tension. So I thought I’d give this stuff a try. It’s much easier and quicker than having to boil and wax them.
I’m not sure as this is the first time I’ve used it but it is supposed to last well and be very hard wearing. So time will tell and next time I do some trapping I’ll do some updates. 👍

I think I have diminished the supply of feral cats around here. I haven’t seen one for at least a month.
@@intothenight1993 🐈🔫📉🙂
gday Josh, we used kurrajong tree boil .. Or leaves high in tannin..Though you were going to throw some yabbies or marron in at the start ..lol jk

If you let the water cool naturally, would the wax set at the top to allow scraping off later?
Yes that would work.
What do u do with it full metal jacket after u dip ur traps ? Do u reuse it and put it back in bottle or wash it away?
Put it back in the bottle and reuse it next time. 👌

I’m curious: What is the wax from? Thanks.
Because previously I used to dye my traps then coat them in wax to protect and lubricate them
How long does Full Metal Jacket last???

Thank you for your response!
No worries mate.
Wax on wax off.
There site is a nightmare to navigate. Been trying to order light but no go.
What are you having trouble with? It works for me🤔
When I was 2 or 3 I got my hand caught in a dingo trap I can tell you I yelped until my dad freed me and I have never touched another trap
Ouch! They certainly do hurt when you catch yourself on the fingers.
Never used wax only INOX WASH IN WARM WATER RE COAT AIR 24 HRS STICK IN GROUND SO DO ONE LEAVE IT IN GROUND FOR 12 MONTH'S I BET YA STILL CATCH DOGS.
I wouldn’t use inox or WD40 or anything like that as they do have a smell and it will only encourage dogs to scratch traps to see what the smell is.
