What is the difference between EAP-AKA and 5G AKA ? Which one will be used mostly in 5G during registration ? Also, Can you please make a video of the registration/pdu-session with negative scenarios, like what are the different scenarios that registration/pdu-session requests etc will fail and with what messages/error-codes ?
Hi Bibin, in 5G , mostly 5G AKA is used with profile A encryption scheme. EAP AKA is the auth method used in 4G EPC flow. In 5G, EAP AKA’ is also used, the difference being is the derivation of KAUSF, from IK’ and CK’ ( just added layer of Salting). However SEAF is not involved in authentication with UE, only AUSF in EAP AKA’.
If no pdu session is created during the registration , and ue has to separately create pdu session when it wants, do you mean that the sip registration to IMS network (VoNR registration) won't happen when u boot up the phone ? Or is it like after the registration to 5GCore is finished, ue will automatically immediately trigger a pdu session creation request for VoNR registration to IMS network ?

VoNR has both the options, using EPC fall back with IMS, same like VOLTE or using the 5G SA network. I will try to cover in depth in upcoming session
