@@OrbiliusMagister interessante, grazie!
Better Call Saul!
Yes! Brahms was a genius
Yeeeessss ^^ I‘m here for that too!
I‘m from Austria and always happy to see/hear my language pop up in a foreign series or movie.

Wunderschön!!!
Jimmy McGill brought me here
Me too. What a wonderful surprise.
Man Better Call Saul hitting us with the great songs once again!
Who knew you could get some culture from following Slippin' Jimmy?
Love it. One of the pieces that I sang when I was younger.
Me too
Why do people like to listen sad music when they're in sorrow? Ain't that make them even more depressed?
The answer is simple. Like this piece, a sad song gives warmth when you listen them emphatically.
[EDIT]
I just read that this piece was inspired from text "Trawer-gesang von der Noth Christi am Oelberg in dem Garten" or simply translated to "Song of mourning over the distress of Christ in Garden of Gethsemane" by Jesuit poet Friedrich Spee. Which refers to Matthew 26:37-38. It was so beautifully describe over by German Folks and language. The silence is truly made me run down by tears when I hear this with this new perspective
Here's the passage :
He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” - Matthew 26:37-38
Proof that Jesus was also truly humane.
It’s the catharsis. When your bowels want to move it’s best to let them do that lol
The lyrics are actually not sad. It gives you hope and love.
so beautiful... my soul is yearning
I sang this in my school's chorus in middle school.
same, it was lovely
To fellow music nerds: my favorite part is definitely the applied dominant of the minor 6. *goosebumps
A new discovery. How beautiful.
Não há palavras. Magnífico ainda é pouco. Salve Brahms!
My concert choir is singing this for festivals this season
Cudowne❤!
SUBLIME. Nesse momento o céu se realiza.
From the boys!
Better Call Saul
That version sung by "Pink Martini" (especially their pronunciation) was quite awful imho. I prefer this version here...A beautiful piece by Johannes Brahms.
@@k.s.421 Yeah it was sung in videogame / b-movie german lmao.
@@pRaX85815 Okay, i don't know this movie... Must see it. Are you German? Bist du Deutscher?
@@k.s.421 It's (tv)series and yes I am. It's so garbled, you could almost call it dutch and get away with it.
The show is on Netflix and called Better Call Saul.
It's somewhat of a prequel/spinoff to Breaking Bad.
@@pRaX85815 I know this show :-))
n stiller Nacht, zur ersten Wacht,

Von herben Leid und Traurigkeit

die Blümelein, mit Tränen rein

Der schöne Mond will untergahn,

@@afonsodeportugal Thanks for the tip. Will check it out.
@@afonsodeportugal Absolutely. I like "Pink Martini" as a band, but their version (especially their pronunciation) was cringy... I'm born and bread in Germany. When i was a child, we had a music class and out teacher taught us this song.
@@k.s.421 I envy you! German choral music is BY FAR my favorite music of all time. It really amazes me how one single country produced so many magnificent composers, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Handel, Strauss, Wagner...
I am very grateful that we live in a time when we can listen to all this wonderful music with such ease. And I am equally grateful that German culture produced so many marvelous pieces of music for the whole world to enjoy! 👏
@@afonsodeportugal Thank you. If you enjoy this song, then you may also like "Der Mond ist aufgegangen" by Matthias Claudius. Thats just a beautiful song....ruclips.net/video/wRPhn-FLZ3Y/видео.html
Chorus Highschool, such nostalgia
Anyone here after the S6E5 of Better Call Saul?
Like gliding through the brisk night air.
Better Call Saul! The boys.
BCS, S6-E5
Our chorus sang at about double this tempo. Sped to 1.5x makes the tenor harmony richer and denser.
Wow. Great call. Sounds amazing at that speed. Thank you!!!

Sorry but in Spain we have more culture and even sun light!
