When the sun is directly behind the train at 1:06-1:25, I only just realized the brilliance of the art direction of the actual animated Dumbo. In the scene at the start of the film where Casey Jr first leaves winter HQ, you only see the circus train’s shadow dancing on a rock face before it turns to plains. Perhaps I only realized the cleverness of the animators after 20 years is because this is the only video of the ride I have seen shot when the shadows are long in the evening. Thank you for helping me see something I thought was an animation cheat as kid as something more artistic now.
