Now that you've got it as good as possible I'd go ahead and ceramic coat it. I just got done doing my Tangerine Scream Ford Focus and I am VERY happy with the results. It Autocross and Track it so I want to protect it as much as possible.
You can get Chemical guys polishing and cutting compounds to get the deeper scratches out and just move up from the more aggressive compounds to the polish and really fix alot of issues.
Good stuff. I hit mine with M105 and 205 with a Hexis Green and White and it comes out great. The one thing I noticed is that the 105 takes out only so much, and then the 205 takes out what's left. Then, if you ceramic coat. it takes out (hides, I guess) even more.
paint is looking good, if you were going to make the headlights more clear-er, i think I'd recommend cerakote ceramic headlight restorations. I haven't used it myself, but ive seen Tanner (Smeedia) use it on his WRX and STI and so far he's been pretty happy with the end results. Keep up the good work Gels!
So I do body work for a living. You need to consult your paint companies info and see how long they recommend before you do anything to those panels. Good rule of thumb is 6 months for proper curing, especially in your area where it's colder than down here in the south.
Roughly what would an stock RX-8 cost in the US today? I was planning on buying some RX-8s for the project, but they are getting too expensive here in Europe.
Thank the lord man.. I couldnt stand looking at the blue anymore. Car looks night and day better
The blue was fun for a bit, but I’m so much happier with how it looks now
Gels: “I’m going to do a small test area” *does a 1sqft spot right on the hood*
I’m glad it turned out though!
😂 got a little too ambitious on that one

Shout out to Maggie! Great Wifing 👍
Looks excellent and glad you shared the same concern about the kit you painted yourself and how it would handle with the correction
I feel for you in the weather. I live in rochester ny. Our weather is pretty waky as well.

Nice job. I did the same thing to my 2010 Volvo that was COVERED in water spots and yeah it took a while but was soooo worth it. Car looks great.
Looking good! That's definitely a lot of work, and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Black cars clean up the bestttt 🤤 for 5 minutes
It’s not allowed outside anymore
Can’t wait to do mine…
Looking better with every step you take!!! Only little thing id suggest is taking care of them rusty calipers
It’s on the to-do list!
Im doing this to my car once it cools down. Never thought doing it in your garage would look that good

Edit: not rx-8s, RX-8, idk why is there s
All that effort - but you're gonna put some kinda protection on right?
Absolutely!
Shocked by snow in April? Are you new to the area? Maybe MAYBE you'll be 100% guaranteed clear of snow by May... Until then... it's always possible.
Wax on...wax off!
