Hey Winter, don't forget to upgrade your extractors as soon as you hit Tier 2! That's one of the more efficient ways to get a mass boost quickly.
It also astronomically ups the energy cost, you have to be ready for that hit

@@andrewgreeb916 I hadn't remotely considered that they might consume more energy. This actually explains what went wrong in a previous game of mine where I couldn't figure out what was draining me so much whilst trying to fix the problem.
Haha I love watching this, "I need more metal!", "Why am I out of metal!?" - proceeds to power build Dragons, one of the most expensive units in the game 🤣

1:21 - Everything in space is a ship. Also have you ever considered how when things are couriered over land it's still called "shipping?" Cause everything is delivered in a vessel. @10:09 You can tell what terrain you can build structures by the background image. The offshore torpedo launcher can only be built on land, its "Q" on your combat tab for the commander. "Offshore" is quite literal in this case lol.
Side note: I'm sure others have noticed but this game is basically supreme commander 3 and I'm all for it. IFKYK

I’ve seen battles of 1800 units running at 80 fps, insane
game is Cpu Heavy and at some point , any Cpu will fail. I Don't know how good the game engine uses multiple cores, but on my i9 9900k, on a map where i was playing alone vs 7 Ai's, during the entire game, one of them created 7500 units, that's not counting buildings . So even if you do not see those units, the game will die at some point, if you don't kill them . Had to save, and load game, to be able to finish it. Was running at 2 fps

Watching him waste the torp bombers the entire time was so frustrating. Why did no one in chat just say to click on the units lol
I actually have the same struggle, I'm so used to classic A-move command from SC and the BAR A-move is so weird, it only moves and shoots where I actually click, it doesn't do short range engage on its own, or I'm just stupid

All terrain spider means it can climb over anything. Steep mountains. Torpedo planes launch before their target, so if there's land before their target, the torpedoes might explode on land... They need to enter the water first, then they propulse themselves towards their target.
The thing that really slaps me about this game is the colour palette my goodness.
Maps could be a bit larger though.

I was like dude there are two torpedo launchers. The ones you build in water and the ones on land that throw a torpedo in the water. It's bad ass.

Winter didnt do anything for the last like 30 mins of this game lol. he just built some gunships and panicked a lot until the shield someone else built finally fell from a light breeze

Its nice seeing winter having to learn the game atleast a little bit, definetly strong fundamentals but its the little mistakes that are bright as sun as supreme commander veteran to my eyes (and I mean very small things that come naturally if you played a lot of FaF). I wonder how many videos it will take before I go from "I could win againts him" to "50/50" and finally to "I would lose 100%.
Little mistakes in a SC2 mindset but in a total annihilation point of view he's fighting himself as much as the other team. Still really fun to watch (frustrating at times). 50/50 if he plays the AI and figured out all the units, 100% with that and he gets the construction unit and building efficiency figured out for me.
Overall you didn't attack enough I think. You should have crossed that water with bots again and again. Those dragon planes should have patrolled everywhere helping your team. And you could have built more long range plasma canons, and more shields. If you have to face boats AND long rang plasma, you need triple shields for each spot.
Replacing the bots with tanks would probably have helped. More hp and better options like hover and amphibious. Tanks would still loos but last a little longer as a meat shield for the team. Been a lot of changes since I played though.
Loving the game, I have been reading the wiki in my free time. Really looking forward for some of your guides ;)
Enjoyed it. Looks a lot like simcity, building houses and tiny robots with a little twist - blow them up to smithereens.

Also i think that all if not most of t3 units are amfibious, and the titans can even shoot while traversing water. So a few krogots can wipe enemy fleets, as long as you have subs and repair vessels around you'll be fine :D That's one more reason to have sub patroling your waters and shore ramps, so that amfibious tanks / mechs do not sneak into your base.
There are coastal torpedo launchers that you build on land but near the water. Commanders can build those.

this is really good to watch! I'd recommend using submarines against ships, they can be rather powerful and cheap/fast to make too

lmao it was such a snoozefest with north sea players on both teams, one guy refused to field any ships until he got overran and his opponent lost a capital ship to two subs over 10 minutes of continuous poking xd

Watch the replay and learn the build from the winner side.
The game is free, so my suggestion for the basics would be to just start with the early scenario/challenge missions. They start easy and gradually ramp up in difficulty, giving plenty of time to experiment and learn. Can also practice against AI, going from Easy AI, to Simple AI, and finally the Barbarian AI if you want something close to an aggressive and decently skilled player.
A youtube guide to cover all the various nuances to perfect your play though, would be handy.

I have downloaded the game and am trying to learn it. It is REALLY fun, but I haven't worked up the nerve to play against other people yet.
The noob servers are really nice, people will help you with any questions you have. I'm on my 3rd game and have been having a blast!

Why did you build arty against the ships in the worst possible location, you should've built defenses in that one clearing on top that is protected by the mountains and cuts ships off from being able to push into your harbor at all.
i hope they implement the ferry mechanic for air transports from FAF that was very cool and air transports are dumb as s*** in this game....
That would be really nice. You can give a group of transports an area drag load order though. They'll spread out and grab everything in the circle. Can then do the same with landing. It's still a bit more clumsy than in FAF, but does work for moving small armies.
@@UnknownSquid no they f*up the group land order put down 3 or 4 units then get caught upon each other hover above the ground and ignore my move back after unload command.....
I know what you COULD do on paper with them, but their AI is a mess and half way trough any complex order they just stop and hover mid air....
You can pick up enimy units with the transport, good for removing problematic units. Res bot in a safe spot or just fly into enimy AA

.... I will never understand why you charge with your units .... take 1000 hits on approach, hit them 2 times then retreat taking another 1000 hits.
Naval is nice and strong in BAR aint it? it's actually nice given how useless naval tends to be in these types of RTS games.

You need to lose the SC2 mentality for these kind of games ;) Shift que entire fire/energy/metal whatever bases. Have constructors poor out of your factories and set their factories to assist themselves. Then just grab a bunch of constructors to assist the ones with building ques. Your production capability will spiral out of control like this. Add more factories and infinitely build more stuff. Don't micro one or 2 units. GL HF
