MI 2 is by far the best. Best story, best villain, best female lead, best soundtrack, and best action. MI IV-VII feel so similar they're hard to tell apart
Thandie does a pretty good job. Not just a babe. She actually gives the film some depth here in the way the Bond Girls never did (and that is what she's supposed to be).
True, but 2 was by far the worst. It was trying to be a spy film while being a generic action film with all the gunfights and dual wielding, but that's just John Woo unable to help himself with his trademark. Also doesn't help that Ethan was constantly horny over Nyah the whole movie.
God, the movie doesn't got bad story. But the too much slow motion scenes, even during a heated fight, it really killed it for me. The movie felt more like a modelling movie than the action with twisted plot like the 1st one.
I dont understand the hatred for MI2. It was a hit. Tom Cruise won Best Actor at the MTV Movie Awards. Sure, it's highly stylized but it's still far more focused, coherent and fun than Mission Impossible 3. I mean, Mission Impossible 3 detoured from the big mission to get to know two silly side characters that we will never see again.
It's my favorite of the franchise, followed by MI 1 and Rogue Nation. The soundtrack, action scenes and almost no team members is why I love it the most.
@@LukeLovesRose Rogue Nation was really great; felt like a hybrid of MI 1's good story/villain and spy-centric moments and MI 2's great action moments. MI3 is definitely the weakest, followed by Fallout (which was nowhere as good as RN). Ghost Protocol was alright for the world building. Kinda missed Luther there.
@@christopherboye5498 My thoughts exactly. And how can you not love Rogue Nation for introducing us to Ilsa Faust, one of the greatest female characters in any spy movie?
This why it's better to have different directors do sequels but then Star Wars happens and mixed reviews come in just like this movie. Thinking outside the box doesn't make consistent money and it's a dangerous way to make big budget movies. Sadly this is the reality of Hollywood now.
this scene felt like parody, something like a movie about an actor who does cheesey action movies and this was one of the scenes of a movie in the movie.
How is it that the security guards at Biocyte, which is a private organisation, have automatic firearms without the police in Sydney being aware of it? After all, due to previous massacres in Australia (especially In Tasmania in 1996), firearms restrictions in Australia were already very tight before the year in which this film is set, which is 1999 because it's on fictitious newspaper on which John McCloy read about his 'death' before the gas in his limousine knocked him unconscious.

I wanna say this is honestly one of my favorite Mission Impossible shoot-out scenes of all time.
I hope Thandie makes a surprise appearance in the sequels. There's no need to pretend MI2 doesn't exist, fans would love the continuity.
she's like freaking 60 yr old now lol
Her and Tom didn't got along so no
@@davidkirinic9463how so
@@asianangler she is 50 and has still been kicking ass in Westworld. Meanwhile Tom Cruise is 60 so clearly age isn't an issue
I think her character was dead already
MI 2 felt like a badass bond movie while others solely focused on Ethan protecting his women and facing his fears.
I love mission impossible 2. It’s the goldeneye of the series.
More like the Die Another Day of the series
Real star of this scene, Zimmer.
John Williams is the goat when it comes to movie composers, but Hans Zimmer is a close second. Can you even imagine this scene with a different score?
I know this film gets flack, but the fight scenes and music are fantastic.
Btw Hunt could’ve easily gotten her out lol
Right! Why not take her with him when he jumped out?
Parachutes like his can only take a small range of specified load. Plus no safety harness makes saving her impossible
He is not Batman..
Too much weight not enough elevation
Though it was criticized a lot for its screenplay but I loved this movie a lot back in those days

Bagus dia sebab maju dia itu iya
Thandiwe Newton was so much better than Zoe Saldana. It's a shame her career never took off more like Zoe's.
zoe aint that popular and successful now.. plus she's younger than newton
Zoe didn't really hit big until she landed the franchise roles (Marvel/Avatar/Star Trek) while Thandie seems to not want to get trapped in franchises
@@Badger1988 no doubt Thandie did not want to repeat the mistake of The Chronicles of Riddick
Anyone else think Cruise is the man?
The first 3 MI films couldn't be more different in tone and style. After Ghost Protocol, they've been fairly consistent; just building up and up

the first 3 were unique and interesting. IV-VII have been so generic and similar. MI 2 is very underrated.
Always loved this music! from the OST its called not suprisingly "Injection, The Jump"
💋
One of my favourite movies!!
I love this movie because it’s literally Face/Off pretending to be a Mission Impossible movie.
What's that supposed to mean? 😁

No, because his wing suit, or parachute, whatever he had, was built for one person.
