I dont understand why so much blood is drawn for testing blood type? In Singapore, we only use the blood from our fingertip to determine our blood type.

Miyo Kim where are you from? Here in the states nurses /medical assistants always wear gloves , (example lets say you are taking the blood out and if the you have a cut in your finger/or and open wound in hand and the patient
has a virus (hiv etc...) you can contain the virus by the blood hitting the open wound...)
here in Thailand they take it without gloves too, it's normal in asia i think :o

xm bibimbap the test tube method is the confirmatory test and is also more reliable than the slide method
puff balls owh i didn't know the difference between the test tube or slide test. But they do the ABO typing right? ABO typing wouldn't need much blood. Unless you wanna test for other like hep or syphilis. Sorry if i am wrong 😅
