A thank you for the guidance in your Camino videos for Astorga to Sarria. I'm walking this section for the second time in May. I'll take the same route out of Villafranca that you showed and take the longer route from Tricastela, to pass the monastery. Once again, your guidance will help me make the most of this trip. Best wishes to you.

Great memories of walking that stretch under the motorway in 2016 after leaving Villafranca del Bierzo. We debated with a group of Americans the night before whether to take the upper route. They did, we stuck to the old road. But it follows the river, and that made the difference for me, a fly fisherman. Right where the shot of the goats appears, I met a fly fisherman coming towards me. I don’t speak Spanish and he didn’t speak English, but when 2 fly fishermen meet, there’s always a long conversation! Buen Camino!

Aaaannnd he's back! Is the Pradela same as the Ruta Dragonte? Looks absolutely gorgeous. You're bringing back memories of my Camino late 2019. I had been walking for over 2.5 months from Le Puy, was having an emotionally rough day climbing the mountain, and to top it off *everything* was soggy and muddy due to hard rain. But that little bar/albergue in La Laguna was a welcome respite for cold pilgrims. A warm fire in the bar, good conversation and excellent caldo made everything brighter for me. Walking up to O Cebreiro for breakfast the next morning was perfect.

Your vlogs are inspirational and very helpful in planning a series of caminos. I am considering using a trolley the the caminos that have fewer steep parts as I am 67. Please take a look at the new HipStar model which will be launched soon (medium - about 10 pounds, can be carried as a backpack, easily shipped, etc. ) and has many of the features you desired in your review of your experience on the francigena with a trolley. Any thoughts? Thanks from a Trail Angel.

Just on blisters. I've always worn cycling socks that have almost no movement across my feet. I've done 6 weeks on the Camino, with three weeks at once being the longest. I only got one blister and was really surprised when I did. I've been told that horizontal movement of the sock across the foot is a major cause of blisters.

I think youre right, prob hot road + weight. The Olympus 4 are great also Darnthough socks however, thing about blisters is the amount of blisters and mousture. And if the camino goes up and down alot, there is more likely that you get blister.
One thing that could help is lower weight, and try syntetic cooler socks or get more rests.
One question though? Why you bring the quilt ? Isint it better to only use a liner in summer time?
