I like that there's a lot of sharks Oak Island.

Sharks do live in the Ocean. I have never personally seen a shark while being at an Oak Island beach. If spotted for being close to shore the Oak Island will fly a purple flag indicating dangerous marine life. Most commonly this means jellies.
ALWAYS CHECK YOUR TIDES AND FLAGS BEFORE SWIMMING!
"Great white sharks, bull sharks and sand tiger sharks are common off North Carolina, but they rarely get close enough to shore to interact with swimmers. The exception is when they are chasing schools of fish or other prey, experts say."
