    I do a randomized roulette wheel app with my eyeshadows every Friday. It’s so fun.

    • @erintaylorwrites
      @erintaylorwrites  6 месяцев назад +1

      I did that a few years ago before I was tracking a NPLB. I would let the wheel pick my shadow for the day! I was so fun and I think with the amount of palettes I have, it helped with decision fatigue. ❤️

    I think the wheel needs a nap😂. Love the smoky eye. I have been reaching for my ND for work almost every day. I'm not buying eyeshadow for now, I'm not really buying anything still. My MIL recently passed so my makeup wearing has been less, but I'm still using up things. You don't need new makeup to do grwm. I would like to see your favorite shades in every palette.

      I need a nap too. 😂 Which ND have you been using?
      I glad you are taking time for you and your family after your loss. So important to be able to process it the best you can. ❤️
      Also, thank you for the idea!! I can maybe do a bonus video of the fav shade in each palette. There will be like no mattes. 😅

      @@erintaylorwrites the ND I need a nude and bronze. They're so easy to blend and the shimmers are nice for work, I work in Amazon Warehouse and yes I do a full face of makeup daily😂 thank you for your kind words, loss is always tough, I'm just trying to be strong for my husband.

    What a fantastic update! Lots of action!! I have actually hit several new pans through this project this year! Unexpectedly but a win nonetheless!! Looks like you are about as loaded up with shadows to work on as I am! MUA school is hurting my progress a bit because we mostly use neutrals but I’m having fun with both either way! Love tons! 🫶🏻🤟🏻🫶🏻

      @erintaylorwrites  6 месяцев назад +1

      Are you going to do a GRWM with some updates on the MUA?! That would be so fun and interesting!! I don't think I will hit pan on anything else this year, and I'm okay with that...It would be nice to hit some more pans on my pan that palette and not just have one. 😅

    I've not reached the epic status of spreadsheets to track everything, but I have been more mindful of using what I have. A good example is making sure to use my lip products. My lips are often dry, and I have masks and oils, but I just forget to apply them. I've gotten so many more uses and actually finished up a few things.
    I was super close to finishing up the elf lip oil in the shade jam session when I accidently left it in my car over the weekend... by Monday, it had black dots in it. I would blame the Florida heat, but it's so strange; I've never had that issue before!
    I want to catalog everything like you have to really see the uses and changes over time. Not to mention calculating how much I use daily products yearly to better plan/prepare/hunt down deals speaks to my number crunching nerdy deal finding soul!
    Thank you, including the pictures of the looks you've created with the palletes rolled in; I love the variety and unique combinations.
    I'd love to see how the Odin's eye pallete you rolled in plays out. I've always heard great things about their palletes, but I haven't personally used the formulas.

    • @erintaylorwrites
      @erintaylorwrites  6 месяцев назад +1

      That's crazy that the lip oil got black dots from being in the heat! I will have to make sure not to leave mine in the car! Sounds like you know all about the FL heat! ☀️
      I think that tracking has made the biggest difference with helping me change my mindset and habits.
      I have really like to take the pictures of the looks and then see all of them at the end of the month when I am edit!! So much fun to go back and see all the pretty looks and it again reminds me that I am using my makeup! ❤️

      I like my hair pulled back rather than in my face. The 2000s were hard with the emo hair cuts with the bangs in our face. LOL!! If I have my hair up for too long, my head starts to hurt and my husband always laughs when I say my hair hurts.

      That is impressive!!! it is such a pretty shade, but with all the sparkle and super special shades we have know, it's a little lack luster. It's crazy how far formulas have come.

    10 use projects are such a good way to go through your products when you have a decent sized collection (you and I have a similar sized collection). I’m doing a 10 use project for all blushes this year. I’m almost done so I may pick another category afterwards.

    • @sarah_tk421
      @sarah_tk421 6 месяцев назад

      I’m also doing a no pan left behind. I have less palettes than you and I’m almost done! Two palettes left.
      That being said, I’m eyeing an Ensley Reign palette and a What’s Up Beauty palette 🤫

      @@erintaylorwrites lip products…blushes and lips are my weaknesses. Okay maybe eyeshadow too! 😅
      But, like you, I have a budget and I stick to it. I feel privileged to be able to afford this hobby but I also want to use my products. I’m happy with the balance I have right now.

    Ohhhh!! 🤩 Your look is smoky goodness!! "The sound of freedom" I love that! Amazing update!! Such great progress! I love that you had to repress your highlighter already! I really like the CP liner in Get Paid. I use that in my waterline in every warm/neutral look. I think I would like the Commodity Milk. I love cozy scents in the fall. Amazing job on your NPLB!!! I think that in the Oden's Eye, that corner quad of wine/berry shades with that fantastic duochrome would make a beautiful look. 😍😍😍 I have no idea my percentage finished in my NPLB. I'll have to figure that out but I know it's low just because of the sheer volume of palettes 🙄🙄🙄 I'm going to figure it out though.

      LOL, got to love makeup math!
      I almost never do smoky looks, but when I do, I love how they turn out!! The Sultry palette also turns out a beautiful smoky look!!
      Commodity Milk is so nice!! It's like a cozy winter candle scent. LOVE It!
      Popping the blue shade in the OE palette over anything makes for such a pretty look! I don't know how Angie did it with picking out that shade, but it just elevates any look!

    Fun video! I just noticed that you don’t really look at the camera but to the side. I thought that it was only this video, but when I watched a couple more, you keep doing it. I usually listen to the videos in my background so didn’t notice till now 🙅‍♀️

    • @erintaylorwrites
      @erintaylorwrites  6 месяцев назад

      I couldn’t get my monitor program to work during filming this video so I had to use the camera view finder to make sure I was in focus/frame more than usual. I also have to look at either the view finder or the monitor when I hold products up to make sure I’m in frame.
      Hope it wasn’t too distracting.

    Side note, I thought of you the other day, Erin! I vaguely remember you mentioning that you work in healthcare. Did you know that Elf gives a discount for various essential worker groups, including healthcare? I'm not sure what is required for the verification process, but you should definitely check it out!

    • @erintaylorwrites
      @erintaylorwrites  6 месяцев назад +1

      Oh man!! I did not see that! I got a huge discount a few years ago from Tiek shoes when they were doing that for heath care workers. I just has to use my NPI number. I will have to check it out!!

    • @RotflQueen
      @RotflQueen 6 месяцев назад

      @erintaylorwrites It's definitely worth a shot, especially for when you need to restock on your dailies! I think there are several companies that still do stuff like this. It's just a matter of happening upon it as I don't think it's heavily advertised. So keep your eyes peeled!
      (Now for ND to do it, then you're either set... or your budget is destroyed!)

    I used up a purple shampoo and a purple hair treatment a couple days ago, and now the shower shelf is more orderly. Not replacing them just yet, still considering what to do. Open question to anyone posting here: can Bad Gal Bang mascara be covered with a layer of waterproof mascara to slow the smudging? This formula is lovely for a couple of hours, but not all day, and I want to use it up. Any favorite waterproof mascaras to recommend?

    • @erintaylorwrites
      @erintaylorwrites  6 месяцев назад

      Good job at getting the purple hair products done!!
      The Bad Gal Bang also smudged on me, and in my experience, putting a waterproof over it has not helped me. For a mascara rec, try the Romand - Han All Fix Mascara - Long Black from Amazon. It has a small brush so lots of control and length and the brown/hazel one wears on me better than waterproof!!

      @erintaylorwrites I tend to wipe down my palettes after every use because I can't stand seeing my makeup dirty. This is stuff that goes on my face, and I sanitize my makeup once a month. I know it might be a little excessive, but I can't help myself from thinking about the germs.
