I said yesterday that a better word and what I thought she meant was "intimidated" she is correct in that Johnny is big deal. Some people may not like it but the fact is he has been a hugely successful actor for decades and has earned the respect of everyone in the entertainment industry a thousand times over. Anyone would be intimidated to film with a mega star like Depp, especially those working on a low budget indie movie like Jeanne Du Barry.
Johnny Depp, being an actor, is a reference in many aspects, not only because of his great talent, one of the best actors today, but also because he is so kind and therefore so loved. Any A subject related to him becomes news of an absurd dimension even if distorted.. The truth is he is a special soul, a gentleman. Love Johnny ♥️

One of Amber's supporters has a page on FB targeting Johnny, brings up made up articles about Johnny on FB doesn't even do research to see if the article is true or not just like the rest of Amber's supporters. It happens in the best Movies. No. 1. Sayings which are not known in an other Language , 2nd. bad Interpretation or totally wrong Translation. We know that. (Speaking German but not being from Germany) But how many times ppl do watch the Originals? 3rd. Movie Titels as well. It is a Mess. (Like Disney WB,Nickelodeon,Un Holy Woods ect.) So most of these Things are going right over our Head cause we would never notice it.
As someone who is bilingual I thought IMMEDIATELY that this was a mistranslation and purposefully misinterpreted for clickbait. She is French and they have different concepts, ideas and non verbal language just like every language. She meant he was intimidating bc of his stature as a renowned artist. The journalist went with “scary”. I can see myself using the word scary to mean intimidating bc in another language they mean similar things. In English it is related to fear. The journalist made sure to go with that without explaining it. Shame on them

Sometimes also when there is a language barrier, a person can use a word that may not be the best word for what they meant, but it’s easily understood still. The rag mags can use that even to their advantage to twist meaning and gain clicks on social media. Sad. I’m in the Midwest and my good friend lives in Germany. We used to misunderstand each other all the time when we first met and would just laugh. It is sad how the media can be so grotesque.

Thank you Frank folr this very interesting video and for actually clarifying what Maiwenn actually said about Johnny Depp. Like many admirers of Johnny Depp's talents I took the time to attend the first screening of Jeanne du Barry held at the Soho Hotel and the Q&A Session. I have to say that Maiwenn had nothing but praise for Johnny Depp's work as an actor. Johnny is a perfectionist, but then so is Mairwenn, and both of them make Jeanne du Barry a film to be recognised and enjoyed.

I thought that happened last year with a guy who he made a film with many years ago was suing him because he said that Johnny hit him. So I don't know what to believe but the date on that article was made this year not last year. do you know anything about this. So that worried me. For the first time in a year,
I did an interview where the FIRST QUESTION was, “MAIWENN, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FILM WITH J0HNNY DEPP?”
I should have been wary from the start as it was crystal clear but I was BLIND AND NAÏVE.
As the interview ended, I realized I hadn’t been asked a single question about the film and it was clear this reporter was looking to make a fuss, to find controversy.
When I made a remark about J0hnny being “SCARY,”
I was talking about his charisma, his notoriety, his star status, etc. and was shocked when I discovered that the newspaper had headlined that ‘The crew were afraid of J0hnny Depp’ because written like that, and without its context and subtleties, it absolutely no longer means the same thing.
The journalist did not want to grasp the subtlety of my words.
I would like to make things very clear: J0HNNY IS “SCARY” in the sense that his CHARISMA and his status as “KING” is IMPRESSIVE. I should have used the word “IMPRESSIVE”
if I had known Charlotte 0’Sullivan would use my words in such a malici0us way.
Again, I want to be very clear:
J0hnny Depp is a HUGE ACTOR. One of the greatest. He reminded me a lot of BRANDO - his genius and sufferings, his generosity and paradoxes.
Even though we argued several times on set, he’s someone I totally respect and admire, and it’s important for me to correct my own narrative because I feel really BETRAYED by this interview with Charlotte 0’Sullivan.

Piece of advice: think before you speak. Charisma, notoriety, star status, etc. might be intimidating but scary isn't a fair description to use on a man who went through the horror of being falsely accused of sexual assault.

IMO: Ela definitivamente não é uma A-Lister e seus comentários demonstram sua falta de experiência e insegurança nestes eventos.
Acredito que aqui a barreira da língua e a maliciosa interpretação do repórter foram a causa do rebuliço mediático. Entretanto ela não perde nada em ficar de boca calada, principalmente reclamando dos atrasos de JD no set. Imagino que JD fez um grande esforço para ir trabalhar, pois ela parece muito "bossy".
Se ela tivesse aproveitado as sugestões/ scripts de JD, o filme teria sido bem mais interessante.
