    The sculptures I think are missing a very important part of his persona. The figures really should have an extra head smiling. Showing that handsome magnetism and care. Superman cares. Serious sculp yes. A smile sculp yes. He's not only a hero. He's a friend.

      Glad I could be helpful! I didn't think of it as a triple review, but you're totally right that's totally what I did haha! And yeah I'm honestly surprised by just how good the NECA one is given how old it is at this point. I know there are complains about how brittle the joints are, but if you're good with him just standing or in flight position then I think you're good to go with him.

    The green crystal is called a knowledge crystal.
    It powers the control center in the fortress and teaches anything he wants to know about earth or kryptonian customs.
    Its separate from kryptonite.
    Kryptonite is radioactive fragments of the kryptonian planet that weakens Kal.
    Allso the second head sculpt on the Mcfarlane was used for red Kryptonite evil Superman but he included it with the standard figure because Chris wears has that hair style and disgruntled Look in the third act of Superman 1 when Lois meets her demise and also in Superman 4 where he battles nunclear man.

    The Mezco one is the best in my opinion. Though, course the price is pretty high, but the accessories you get really make that figure fun. Also, I think it has the best head sculpt of the three. Not to mention you get three different portraits. If you want a Reeve Superman on a budget, then the McFarlane one is the way to go. I had the Neca figure, and the paint rubbed off really easily on the neck and on the hands. It comes with two pairs of hands and that's it. Also, He never flew with his thumbs out, that's kind of weird. If you hate cloth goods, then I can see not wanting the Mezco, but I love cloth goods way more than plasticy joints showing everywhere. If you love the movies and just want one figure, I say the Mezco is worth it. If you are on a budget, then Micky's works for you.

    I wish someone like Mafex or Figuarts would take a shot at a Christopher Reeve Superman.

      What do you primarily collect?
      While I would like to see how Figuarts would handle it, I'd be a little worried too. I'm not a huge fan of how the eyes look on the Keaton Batman they did. The way it's printed on is like with dots. It's weird.

    • @MaxCarnage1984
      @MaxCarnage1984 11 дней назад +1

      @@ComicallyToysOh Figuarts has majorly improved with their live action figures lately. But if I had to go with either company, it would be Mafex. They seem to be better at live action figures, whereas Figuarts seems to be top tier with anime figures.
      I'm mostly a 1/12 scale collector (though I do have 1/13 scale figures as the Doctor Who ones only get as big as 1/13). That being said, even Mezco isn't true 1/12 scale, and I'm not a fan of soft goods, so their Superman isn't right for me.

    NECA all day long. The articulation is weak, but everything else blows McFarlane out of the water and the head-sculpt is the best of the bunch, IMO. A talented painter could make it amazing. I passed on the McFarlane because it doesn't compare to the NECA. I'll admit I had to pass on the Mezco due to the price, but I'm honestly happy with what I have. I'd rather spend that money to get the comic version from Mezco, which is killer. Anyhoo, thanks for the review. Two things that bug me about the McFarlane version.
    1) He's far too thin. They should have put a little muscle to him.

    For the face sculpt I would give this to NECA. For value, I would give this to Mcfarlane. Mezco, honestly, was a disappointment for me. They tried to win us over with the accessories. Otherwise, for something that costs as much as it did, they failed miserably. For a high -end collectible, they failed miserably where it counts. The figure itself. Face sculpt is couldn't even hold a candle compared to NECA. Mcfarlane is in between the two. Although the face sculpt isn't as good as NECA it's good enough. Also neca is very brittle. I bought 3 back in the day and one already broke from minimal handling. Mcfarlane at least is more durable and has a better wired cape than the other offerings. Mezco sold us great accessories and that included a so-so figure.

      @antoniocdechavez4409 15 дней назад

      @Fiveash-Art Yup. They missed the mark. At least he's the most durable of the lot. The best face sculpt of the 3 is NECA, but it was released at a time when they used very weak and brittle plastic. I bought 3 back then. One already broke from minimal handling. I'm very careful of the ones that are still intact. One will stay in the box.
