A collection of clips from one of my most favourite sccenes so far this season. Highlights includes Dean's prayer, Sam impersonation Cas, Cas admitting to having a bromance with Dean, and Cas' attempt at using air quotes!

Cas has a attitude in this episode. first he's shy and stuttering in the beginning, than sheepishly sassy, than shameful, and then blunt. next, he's acting angry/independent, than dismissive and sassy, than obliviously funny in the way only Castiel can do, then sheepish again, than offended and angry and generally fed up with Sam.
Good for him! I wish he would have had this attitude more often. Maybe they'd stop treating him like a loyal puppy dog.

I bet a human 'year' is way longer for angels, seeing as so much can happen in their point of view in a matter of (human) seconds. So, yeah, his use of quotations around 'year' makes complete sense to me. =P Also explains his little statement at the beginning when Sam tells him, 'hello?', and Cas says, 'uh, that is still the term' - probably a little concerned that the term has changed since he was last around. =P

Huggy Bear was a stereotypical black character from the 70s cop series "Starsky & Hutch". When he called Castiel that he was mocking him for using HB's outdated 70s drama street slang.
Then again Starsky & Hutch was the the breakout 70s drama that depicted two masculine characters who were openly affectionate and cared very much for each other (...they hugged a LOT). So if you're going to steal they may as well steal from the best.

Isn't it weird to think at this moment Sam doesn't have a soul? He just seems so normal. It's almost like the writers weren't sure that's what they were gonna do until later. Because honestly, until the whole Dean becoming a vampire thing, he seemed just like Sam. It's just odd to think soulless Sam kept a persona for so long.
Melody Knievel it might simply be that he acted the way he remembered to, but in the long run, he would find it was not as efficient or something, idk.
Honestly, I think it was more because HE didn't know he was soulless, so he was kind of doing a fake it 'til you make it routine. But then he found out, and others did as well, so it felt like a pointless charade after that - he just responded to things with his actual thoughts and (lack of) feelings.
I thought he seemed off from ep 1 of the season when he had minimal reaction to seeing Dean again
He mentions in episode 9 (‘Clap Your Hands if You Believe’) that he has been picking up every word and faking it since the beginning. Do with that what you will.
