How sweet the nectar ( Nektar ) is from this band.
It is The Best Dream who introduced me to the wonderful world of Nektar.
Thanks for the sweet treat.
Best Dream was this a British band based in Hamburg, or were they a straight up German krautrock band ?
A Tab in the Ocean is the second album from German-based English progressive rock band Nektar. English heavy metal band Iron Maiden covered the song "King of Twilight", also mixing in parts of "Crying in the Dark" creating somewhat of a medley, and released as a b-side to the 1984 single "Aces High". (Wikipedia)
Hello to you fromm Germany to you and yes this is named in Germany KRAUTROCK!😀🌈 And i Love this Gread Band.
@@ThebestdreamIhad
I wonder how they all happened to be in Germany when they formed?! (Wiki doesnt mention that !)

this is a prog rock band i grew up with -love this music still very much totay -i.m 66 now -who is listening still ?.....
I bought his album for the cover way back when. Amazing music within
I'm with 70 and still loving it!
I'm 63, and this music will live on until I'm 93 if I live that long. This band was way ahead of its time.
I bought this album for the cover also and loved the music even more. I'll be 69 in May...so some of us truly grew up during finest musical period in history.
I'm 66 and got into Nectar and other prog bands from a 90s college station radio show, "The Trip", and those delightful prog anthologies.
i've read this comments...so i salute you oldtimers while youre still alive
You may want to learn proper English young one.
Fine album

This was my first introduction to Nektar. Was trying to score some puff ya know and ended up at some guys house who asked me if I had heard of 'Nektar'. That was it, I was totally blown away by them. Some many years later (2008 if I remember) The band I was playing in (Tony Hill's Fiction) supported them at the Underworld (Camden, London) and they were amazing. had a smoke with the drummer afterwards and had a long chat with Roye Albrighton in the dressing room where he basically gave me their rider. Thoroughly lovely bunch of blokes. Incidentally, when we turned up Ritchie Dembo came straight over to me, introduced himself and immediately asked me if I wanted to use his bass rig (I didn't as I had bought a new one). Fabulous geezer. So there you have it. A treasured memory.
Badass
I am 69 years old now, and about 50 years ago I had bought the LP and was thrilled. I haven't listened to records for a long time, but I found this album again on the internet, and I'm still thrilled.
But I don't know this double-disc version yet.
Great
The version I have is a CD. There's the original German mix from 1972. And then a US mix from 1976. The original German mix is superior.
I was born in 72.. Its wild to me how many great bands came out that year.. 1972 was a damn good year 😬
1972 was the pinnacle.
71 here - best decade for rock IMO
This was the music we heard and saw 50 years ago.
One of the best albums ever made...... EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!

You beat me to it, haha :D
your timecodes are broken, mate
ah yes, the fake timestamp prank, a true classic
There are the time for each music, not timestamps guys
CD 1 is the original 1972 LP mix, and the times for each song is exact running times as on the original album. There is another 2-cd set out for this album and it contains the 1972 LP mix and the 1976 LP remix.
The first 10 minutes of this album contain more musical variety than most albums now days.
WOBBLER IS A NEW GROUP THATS DIFFERENT.
"now days" yeah bro u talk like Led Zepellin and AC/DC didnt made the same album like 8 times
the beatles were sounding the same and like a generic band before rubber soul
the click track ruined rock and roll
A musician told me one time in around 1983 that there wasn't much guitar chord innovation left for the 6 strings. The thing I enjoy about today's new revival of the guitar is the computer mixer sounds software integration. A great group is Khruangbin.
One of the first albums I stumbled upon when I discovered this channel several years ago. Finally found an original vinyl copy this last weekend and I have it spinning now in honour of you, thebestdream I had. Rest in peace, friend.
I'm not sure how I discovered Nektar but as someone who was trying to explore all the Progressive music I could in the late 70s early 80s, these guys were a gold mine of musical treasures.
Really good band. It sounds like a fantasy group with David Bowie on vocals, Genesis as the backup band, and Pink Floyd producing it.
Whoa, this is fantastic
Masterpiece. Epic Album. I love Space Rock and Progressive Rock. NEKTAR The best of the best. Congratulations.
Was just going through my dad's old records ,he passed in 2017 haven't had a turntable for best part of a decade he has copy of this signed still pristine came hear to listen to something I haven't heard in 20 years
🕊️
Love Nektar......... another great band from Germany is Triumvirat.....Spartacus album ...is one of the best albums ever made....1975 ❤#
Originally bought this record in Okinawa
Immediately feel in love & currently have several CD's of Them.
❤
Along with Helen Reddy, the Carpenters and John Denver, that album cover must have been a great reassurance to parents in 1972!
'King of Twilight' still gives me goosebumps - 45 years after I bought it on the cheap...🤔
Omg the first 12i minutes has taken me to the ,ZONE! Who are these Brilliants !??? 😱😱😱 Love this !! 😍😍😍💕💓💗
I ever loved this surrealistic kind of cover art. But the musical content here is much more of Hard Rock than I ever exspected. So I'm glad I learned about Nektar as a band who is highly enjoyable to me. Hm, just can say: better late than never.
Thank You very much.
Totally agree! The album cover illustrations from that era is something I've always been very fond of. I was fortunate to be tuned into Nektar via my parents at a young age, they saw them live in NY back in the 70's! They only had 1 album, so I appreciate folks who take the efforts to UL them here.
You are soooo right, better late than never.
🎄😊Happy, healthy Holidays, and Happy, healthy New Year 2021!!!🎉🎆🎊
✨Peace&Blessings✨
Saw them in the Harmonie in Bonn -Germany- few years ago- fantastic!
I have this on the old vinyl, but that does not include the extras. The sound is great. Thanks.
Nektar questo è il loro secondo album uno dei loro migliori ASSIEME al primo JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EYE e REMEMBER TO THE FUTURE . Bell album Sicuramente !!!!
And once again, the Gladiator comes to rescue us (in NH anyway) from a rainy day
Thank you man!
Thank you for upload this beautiful album.
Man Nektar is such a great 70's band. No doubt my dad grew told me in his teen and childhood era all this music was in the radio station during day and of course, in the night shift. ❤👽
Discovering lots via links/associations here on youtube. Been a progger, art-rock, etc etc....much of my life. These dudes good!
The LP "Recycled" was my first date with Nektar❤️
It was in 1979, I was 12 y.o. and big ZAPPA Fan.
Another gem from these legends 👍
Einfach geil.
Progressive Rock is the Gem of the Rock...Masters !...
One of the original band of space cowboys taking you on a twisting journey through the ventricules of your heart to the. holes in your string vest. One of the best prog bands ever!
i love prog rock -Nektar -Pink Floyd -Genesis , saw them LIVE !! tnx for upload !
Cool album.
It does a very good job of splitting the difference between prog and psych.
Still amazing after all these years, Had the album, 8 track and now CD
I have really enjoyed hearing this for the first time. Thank You for posting. Was 12 years old in 72 and music was expanding widely during my days of the early 70's

A formidable album, select for connoisseurs.

My first Nektar was this original album on 8-track cassette. A blind buy that paid off big time.
Great album! very enjoyable good old prog!
This straight up kicks ass!
Had this album as a kid. Haven't heard it in years. Thanks!
What a truly amazing album. How lucky we are to have this channel that brings so many rarities to us.
Man, I have to say I’m always delighted with your shares. A stunning collection, and much appreciated. Bought digital copies (sadly, no space for vinyl) of several albums you’ve shared. Great that so many are still available.

Wspaniałe czasy ,wspaniała muzyka.

wow! que buen album, y que buena banda, muchas gracias Thebestdream i had!!!!
Having Lived & Worked in Germany for 3 yrs, 1980-83, I Came to know this band & this was my first Album, "Luvit".❤.
I bought this album when I lived in London. I bought it from "Small Wonder Records" - 162 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17, London. Beautiful memories.
I still have the original Vinyl L.P. in mint condition and forgot how good it was till I stumbled on this.Iv'e got others of Nectar that I must dig out and dust off and play.
Thank you for posting. I actually heard " Recycled " first. Then I went and got Tab in the Ocean, Remember the Future, and 14 Down to Earth within months. There's another one I have also. I used to buy an album and immediately record it to tape so I wouldn't damage my albums. So, on the tail end of Tab [ since it was only 35 minutes or so], I recorded Jean Luc Ponty to fill up the tape. And, now, when Tab ends I hear the opening riff to Ponty's song. Ha!
Andrija,Srbija
Prelepa muzika!

Total Masterpiece!
This video is educational and my ears have been educated by it. Thanks.
mind blown. sounds like the best jam
Hahaha I accidentaly put the sound on x4 and after hearing the first "minute" I was like damn this is kinda heady, I dig that but maybe a lil bit too much for me in the end, then I realised what's going on... yes I have been smokin'
Que MARAVILHA, muito muito bom!
This is great! Never heard of this band before, thanks for uploading it!
Excellent !!!
THIS IS GETTING SPOOKY. I GREW UP LISTENING TO A WIDE RANGE OF MUSIC. LATELY EVERY TIME I LOOK UP SOMETHING FROM SIXTIES SEVENTIES THERES A TON OF NEW POST.
ALMOST LIKE I LOOK UP WHAT EVERY ONE ELSE JUST DECIDED TO LOOK UP.
Eccellenti!!! Questo è prog!!!!
Kansas + Camel. Brilliant.
🍀Cheers 🍻🍺 I'll Drink2That🍀
The 1st time I heard of Nektar was when my best friend picked up their Remember the Future soon after it came out in the States. That was it for us. We were completely hooked. The 2nd concert we ever saw in 76 was The Recycled Tour in White Plains NY. Been going ever since including when they started up again in 2002 at Nearfest. We followed them around and went to every show and hung out with them several times.
Awesome album
Maravilloso, gracias TBDIH
LP covers were at an all-time highly creative genre. Dali-Ernst-De Chirico (to name a few) would have loved this. 🙂
Gracias !!!!!
Excellent record TNX
Wow! I thought that "remember the future" was all there is. Nice discovery.😂
Great Progressive Phycadelia!

A tab in the ocean would make me believe in magic😈
I saw nektar perform in an underground parking lot in 1976. I hung out with the band after the concert and what a concert it was. I think mountain opened for them or was it scarlet Rivera?
best album to me
Superbiousity!!
Someone took ELP, King Crimson, The Who, and Grateful Dead and threw it in a blender with ice and made this wonderful smoothie for us to drink :)
Honestly feel like there's not many bands from this era that they don't seem like they have a little bit of influence from.
