Hi Helen!! 🎉 Those were Canada Geese, not ducks, that you saw, and they probably came to say hi to you!!! 😆 In actuality, that would have been a whole flock fuelling up as they continue their V-shaped flight further south. I can’t help but say that despite the hard year you’ve had, you just seem more and more confident by the minute while letting your personality, humour, and interests shine. Outsiders can never know what goes on inside a person and struggles don’t stop with the snap of the fingers, but I hope that you take some time to reflect on your many positive traits, your courage, your willingness to try, and how much you are evolving. I love seeing you find joy in the magic of small things and sharing yourself with others. 🥰
I've used earrings to pop out my SIM card!!! And to answer Helen's question about the Italian theme at the bakery, it's because they've partnered with Rocco Princi to bring his bakery into the Roastery! And his is a Milanese bakery!

I've been watching this italian girl vlogger and she explained that bar in italy is not like western bar but a coffee bar. She showed typical Italian coffee bar which sells baked goods - all with Italian names e.g. croissant is actually called cornetto and others like limonella, etc. There is also an italian coffee bar in Vancouver called Giovanni or Bacarro which has excellent coffee and other baked goods with Italian names. Starbucks Reserve probably wants to resemble typical Italian Coffee bar different from usual retail ones.
Just wanted to leave a comment saying you should try taking a picture of the plaques that way you can go through the museum and go back and read the plaques when you have more time.
ahhhhh, so lovely, Helen! Chicago is a favourite place for my husband and me as we purchased our wedding rings there! The architecture is so incredible and I agree, the people are so warm and lovely! Chicago and Toronto are often compared and labeled as being similar. Obviously I love Toronto, but I just don't see it. Sadly, Toronto tore down too many of her architectural gems :(
I’m from Chicago and I absolutely love Atlas Stationers! I used to walk by the store everyday on my way to work and it was really hard to not go in and buy everything!
It was so, so good to see you having so much fun in Chicago! The cafes looked incredible. Just in case it comes up again, you can sometimes use a paperclip to pop out the sim tray too! I've had to do that at work before. ^_^
So glad you had a good time in my city. The rounded escalator in the Starbucks reserve amazes me. And the coffee shop you were in is pronounced phonetically Inteli-gent-sia they have great coffee. I haven’t been to Atlas yet, but I need to get my butt down there.
I’m only halfway through watching this vlog, but I love it so much! I’m glad you kept in the part with you talking to yourself, I do that a lot as well haha. You can feel all of the excitement radiating from you throughout the video. It’s so refreshing to see. I think the extended Black Friday option is great as well. I have never heard of Atlas Stationers! I will have to check them out. As someone whose lived in the Chicago area most of my life- you would not find the highways beautiful or the people friendly if you had tondrive around. Lol

It was so fun to join you on your travels! Levain is unforgettable! When I go to NY, I pack tupperwares to bring cookies back for myself & family. We freeze them and savor them slowly. There were copycat recipes online that are sooo good as well! ❤

What a lovely trip! I wish I'd had more time to explore Chicago when we visited about 10 years ago, but we did get to visit the Field Museum, and found a great place for breakfast near our hotel (The Wildberry Café).

Thank you for extending the BF sale instead of having 2 separate sales!! I wish everyone would do this. I hate having to put in extra thoughtfulness for shopping. I just want to shop without worrying when is the best time to shop, if that makes sense.

What a lovely trip! I wish I'd had more time to explore Chicago when we visited about 10 years ago, but we did get to visit the Field Museum, and found a great place for breakfast near our hotel (The Wildberry Café).

Loved this vlog! I’m glad you had a great trip! I love Chicago too! The science and industry museum is my favorite but field museum is a close second. I’m from Wisconsin just to the north and we call this regions friendliness the “midwestner friendly”.
