I’m not a professional illustrator and intend to import images into Mental Canvas, so I don’t mind the lackluster drawing tools. However, the ability to manipulate layers so easily and intuitively is priceless to me.
I totally agree. You can do the same thing in After Effects or blender, but Mental canvas makes it a much more simpler and intuitive process. Thanks for watching!
Great review! Pretty much confirmed my feeling the the basic function is super cool and smooth, but the price for the paid version is quite over the top for the app as a whole.
@Drawing With Avi How easily/effectively does Mental Canvas integrate with other drawing tools? I mean, how easy do you bring drawings in and most importantly manage updates to said drawings (source files)?
Unfortunately, Mental Canvas currently doesn't support a referenced styled import system. Instead you'll have to import jpg or png files directly into your project. Hopefully they will update this system in the future. Thanks for watching!
Great Video, would love to see your kind of illustration in mental canvas! They really need to refine their tools and add support for curve canvas. What if procreate release similar app integrated into their app? or adobe? Mental Canvs has been in market for last 6 7 years I think It was exclusive to Microsoft studio surface.
I completely agree! If Mental Canvas can be integrated into other workflows, it can be a powerful tool. I'm surprised Adobe hasn't considered buying Mental Canvas and making it a main feature in Fresco.
Sorry for the late reply! Hmmm.. took me about 2-3 hours to do. but that was sketching in Photoshop and importing each drawing into Mental Canvas. I suspect the process could be cut in half if the drawing was done entirely in the app.

This was well done and spot on. Thanks.
Thank you! I think it's time I revisited the app and see if they've made any updates to it

Agreed, the drawing tools just needs a bit of an upgrade before the Pro version is something worth paying for. Thanks for watching!
Great review 👌
Thanks Kyle! Appreciate the feedback 😁

How long did it take you to make the little animation with Spider Gwen? 🤔🤔
