The units also had one of the biggest shields in the game AND they were cavalry. The sarissa is also op because it can also one hit units very easily and although it doesn’t hit as fast as the lance, it has a lot of range and can also kill multiple units because they thrust forward when they attack.

In my opinion, either the Dutch empire faction or the pirate faction is going to win, but if I have to choose one, it has to be the pirate faction because of their amazing melee units. As well as that, they have range units (muskets and flintlocks). Very strong faction.

Cannons/ballistas, big shields, and guns are the formula for victory.
The lance is busted. It's stupidly easy to kill anything with it and a greatshield
