Here is the thing if you want historical accuracy the Praetorians after the fall of the republic were incredibly traitorous and honestly awful troops. So I think it would be best if they were really weak, very expensive, and would target their allies.

hey the problem is the banner bearers! If the spartans actually charged maybe they have a better chance of winning because then the archers wouldn't kill some spartans before the battle even began! Also, the commander should also fight them instead of being shot by archers!
