Well, bless your GP for making that referral. Without it there would not been knowledge how to prevent your condition and PAIN levels going worse. It would been even longer wait and less of a chance of changing the tide. Sometimes good GPs just have a feeling....

So sorry for the late reply - my health hasn't been very good over the last year or so unfortunately. Yes I'm very lucky that I had a good GP at the time who made the right referrals :) xx

I found this video. I was run over when I was 4 and broke my femur. 7 years ago I was told to have the op but I have huge anxiety staying at hospital from being in them so much as a child and I'm hoping to get the specialist on side to do the pp. The pain is unbearable. Hope yours went well. So thankful to find this video

Sorry for not replying sooner - I’ve been struggling with my health. I hope your daughter is recovering well. It’s a really hard recovery process and I can’t even imagine trying to go through it as a child. Your daughter must be very brave. Please give her my love and I hope she isn’t in too much pain xx

wow, I found your channel not so long ago as I'm in the process of being diagnosed with eds and funnily enough I've had this exact same surgery for the exact same reason twice (long story, but the doctor did a mistake while measuring the angles and I went from having my knees inwards to having a normal one and the other one outwards) It's interesting how having EDS (or in my case symptoms of it) may be related to having rotated knees, thank you for making these videos!

Ideas for little things to look forward to - being driven round your/a town to look at all the Christmas lights, a Christmas drink at Costa or Starbucks, a cinema trip to see a Christmassy film, a short trip to a Christmas market, seeing some Christmas lights being switched on, having a cosy night in with friends or family watching favourite films with hot chocolate & snacks, catching up with penpal post, decorating your bedroom with a tree, lights, decorations etc, watching the big Christmas adverts on RUclips (John Lewis released theirs today), Christmassy crafts...
    Lots of love Jenny x

Sorry I've been so terrible at replying to comments on my videos the last few months - I'm trying to catch up now so I can then hopefully keep on top of them! Thank you for all the ideas of things I could look forward to - they really helped to give me some ideas and luckily I was able to do some of them with a bit of help from my family, so that put a smile on my face :) xxx

Sorry for the late reply - I haven’t been able to post/film for quite a while due to health. Sorry to hear you’ve got to have this surgery, but like you say, it’s good to get it done now rather than continuing to struggle for many more years. I hope your surgery goes well and that you notice an improvement after having it done xx

My daughter needs this surgery in both legs. She's only 12 and I'm so scared for her. How are you feeling now that the surgery is in the past

Sorry for the late reply - I haven’t been able to post/film for quite a while due to health. I’m sorry to hear your daughter needs this surgery in both legs. That’s totally understandable that you’re feeling scared for her. Although I had some complications after my right femoral Osteotomy, now that they’ve been resolved, I’m really glad that I got it done (and am now thinking about having my other leg done!) There’s definitely noticeable improvement - I don’t seem to get so much pain like I did before and my hip doesn’t feel like it gets ‘stuck’ so much. So I’m hoping once I get the other leg done it will be a big help. Do let me know if you have any other questions at all and I’ll do my best to help xxx

Im getting surgery on just one side but I have it on both sides. Were you having issues with both sides? Was walking hard when just one side was fixed?

    • @JennyCole1988

Thank you for your comment - sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I've been struggling to keep on top of things with my health, but really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment :) I hope your surgery goes well (if you haven't had it yet, or went well if you have!) I have issues with both sides, so at some point I will probably need to get my other leg sorted out. I've been finding walking quite hard, in part due to complications. It is quite difficult as the leg that hasn't been operated on still causes a lot of pain, so I don't really have a 'good' leg to rely on. But I think it depends how quick your recovery is, as some people are weight bearing on their leg pretty quickly after surgery, which would then spread your weight and not focus it all on the leg that still needs surgery xx

Hi! how did your surgery go? Are you happy that you did it? Were there any complications? Thank you so much in advance!

I just found out I might have this and my aunt had it and her knee went fully round I'm hoping we can get my Xrays to see if I have it or not and I most likely do :( so hearing others' stories is very interesting to me! (edit: I just remembered everyone gets this surgery for different reasons but basically my femur and its mostly vissable in my knees are twisting)

      Hi Katt,
Thank you for your comment - sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I've been struggling to get on top of things recently with my health not being great. But I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Sorry to hear you might have this. Have you been able to get any scans done to tell you for definite (generally I think you need to have a CT scan that can measure the rotation of the femur/tibia, as I don't think an x-ray can give a full picture). I hope you're able to get some answers and the treatment you need to get things feeling better x

    How are you recovering?

    • @JennyCole1988
      @JennyCole1988  3 года назад

Thank you for your comment! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I've been struggling to keep on top of things with my health, but really appreciate you commenting :) Thank you for asking. Recovery has been pretty difficult and hasn't really gone to plan unfortunately. The actual break in my femur is healing nicely - it was a bit slow to grow back, but is getting there. But unfortunately I've developed problems with my knee and lower leg, which we're still trying to understand. We're not sure if it's because I have EDS and that's made recovery more difficult, or if I've had a Complex Regional Pain Syndrome reaction from the surgery. So I'm still on two crutches and can't really bend my knee, but have a new plan with my Pain Consultant of something to try, so fingers crossed! xx

Sorry I've been so terrible at replying to comments on my videos the last few months - I'm trying to catch up now so I can then hopefully keep on top of them! Thank you for the tip lovely - unfortunately as I had seizures after my operation I'm now having to wait for the DVLA to contact doctors and make decisions. But we are considering hand controls on my new car if I'm going to have longer-term issues with my legs xxx
