This is soo incredible how you have put this together. It is super informative! I love the PACIFC NORTHWEST HIKES. You really showcase the trail experience.
Thanks for taking us along. It's been years since I've been up Pilchuck. Now I spend most of my summer in the North Cascades, Mt Baker and Pasayten areas.
Thank you for taking the time to do all these videos. We are transplants from Boston to Seattle and we are really enjoying all the PNW has to offer. These are a great resource for us. Our oldest son (age 5) loves to hike and has championed some great hikes so far. He also has autism, so for us to watch these videos and preview the hike is really helpful, Thank you!
Thank you Kerri! It's wonderful to hear these hikes are helping you and your family out. Fun fact. Jen was never really into hiking until she met me. Now she is the one that does most of the research when looking for a new hike and won't let me go alone any more. :)
I've watched a handful of your video hikes, and I think you've done a wonderful job of filming and overview on sharing all one would need to know about conditions and preparation. Also calling out the names of the peaks on the circumference of your viewing points. Thank you, Robert
Great job, you two. I'm setting up my spring/summer 2022 hikes and this one is definitely on the list! Love your narrative, very informative. Also the filming is good. Useful information regarding your progress up the trail, etc. (times and temp, etc) . Good job!
Thank you so much for the video. It helps my wife and I get a look at the trial before going as she is afraid of heights and trails with no trees on either side. So this can save me a car trip or set as a hike to do :-)
Wow, this is awesome. Thank you so much for putting up this video. I imagine it must have been difficult holding the camera and explaining things on the way. I have been planning this hike for a long time now, but haven't gone for it yet. I will do it soon
You forgot to tell the viewers that this was once a favorite local ski Mtn. I think it once had 2 lifts, lodge, ski school etc. The low elevation along with a few warm winters created some problem and in 1980 it was shut down 😢
You guys are awesome! I live in the area and learn so much from your videos. I would love to see Jen’s reading list someday - the story about Snoqualm, the date when the fire outlook was decommissioned - she’s so knowledgeable! I wish I had hiking buddies like you! I’d have to have buddies first lol
Ok you two, another great hike. Pretty brave though, holding the camera and scrambling boulders at the same time. I'm sure you probably edited any boo boo's...lol. Now, picture that hike with about one to two feet of snow everywhere, now you're talkin'.... lol
My friend was showing me photos of him skinning up and then skiing down one of the faces of Pilchuck. Maybe someday, but we will stick to our snowshoes for now. :)
Luckily...I am a florist.....not. Too many regulations in that part of the country...due to too many people. Beautiful promontory...would be a cool place to live...hard to believe a ranger used to be posted there. Great job dudes!
Especially in the wintertime when it's covered in ice and snow. But then again, I don't think there would be a need since it's primary purpose was for fires? I should have spent more time reading the historic plaques on the inside. :)
Hey Pratiwi.... loved that phrase too. Did you catch Jen's "Wah, wah" right after Nick said that! Cool couple! I'd love to meet them sometime! ... are you hearin' me, Guys??
Thank you! My camera movement is one of two things. First I have a lcd viewer on the back of my gopro, and when I walk, I watch the viewer to make sure I am holding the shot as steady as possible. Secondly, I will do a little stabilization in post pro if the shake is too much.
Good review! I noticed you use your phone during hikes where no service is available. What app do you use? Yesterday three buddies and I climbed to Silver Peak and almost lost the trail at the fork. Would be nice to have a map handy.
I would maybe look for another hike as your first hike as this one is very strenuous and can be a little tricky to stay on the trail and not get lost. Currently there is a lot of snow on Pilchuck and there have been numerous rescues in the recent days, so you would want to wait it out either way. If you are going to make an attempt on Pilchuck, check the trip reports and go once the snow clears. www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-pilchuck
We've done it several times a couple years ago. But the crowds are horrible on the weekends. Even if you make sumit at the crack of dawn, getting down is already a traffic jam. However, I hear there is a scramble route up from Little Si. I might need to look further into that...
That roads been closed forever. I know the Heather Lake trail very well and area around that, and the road, but have yet to go on that exact trail. Think they are currently fixing the road up too, as the whole road up use to be super messed up. I wish they would fix other roads nearby, but those trails would also be crowded so maybe its a good thing.

We've started exploring the North Cascades...really impressive place. Going to have to spend more time up there.

Thank you for sharing. You 2 are amazing!

. Good job!
Well done guys! Inspiring feed! Keep up the fantastic work that you both do. Also great meeting you that day! Keep it up! I'm a FAN!
Thank you Mardi! Also, what is your instagram acct? I want to see your photos. :)
Beautiful! I will have to put this on the list for, hopefully, next year.
This hike is definitely in your book.
I may never make it up there, but watching this was a good prep. Thanks ; ^)
Dope video! Done this hike many times and you did a great job making it look cool!
Great feeling of what to expect. Thanks! "Bring your Grandma." LOL
Thank you so much for the video. It helps my wife and I get a look at the trial before going as she is afraid of heights and trails with no trees on either side. So this can save me a car trip or set as a hike to do :-)
No guarantees that she won't be uncomfortable. ;) Awesome to hear our videos help get you all outdoors. :D
Really love your videos! Mt. Pilchuck is one of my favorite hikes. Unfortunately out of the 4 times I've gone Its always been cloudy.
Hah, so we weren't the only ones. :)
I can't help it. im a fan. You guys rock!
Thank you Zac, we're happy you are enjoying the videos!
Wow, this is awesome. Thank you so much for putting up this video. I imagine it must have been difficult holding the camera and explaining things on the way. I have been planning this hike for a long time now, but haven't gone for it yet. I will do it soon
It is on the list. I will save for a mid-week like I do. Looks just incredible up there.
I bet mid-week is an amazing time to have places like these to yourself. The hike gets really good once you break out of the forest. Enjoy!
You forgot to tell the viewers that this was once a favorite local ski Mtn. I think it once had 2 lifts, lodge, ski school etc. The low elevation along with a few warm winters created some problem and in 1980 it was shut down 😢
Wow! Neither of us knew about this. How interesting. I do know some people who will still skinn up and ski down the south face.
great video. thanks.
Love you guys! I am heading there....

Hey, buddy! Let's do this!
I just did Pilchuck for the first time yesterday. The place was packed.
i was already missing your videos
Hopefully we can keep publishing one a week! :)
Awesome video
That seems like a large parking lot! Do you think a regular sedan can make it through to the parking lot (potholes)?
Loved the trail and loved the hike. Went there this past weekend at 6am. But the drive was super annoying - rough gravel road.
Exelente trabajo very nice. Me inspiran. Love you guys ❤️👍🏼
Muchas gracias mi amigo! :)
The road up there is so bumpy it feels like riding a jet ski!
I'm 73. You guys go to it. Nope, did all that when I was young and not yet useless.
This is a hike I've been wanting to do for a while, especially since I live relatively close. (Mukilteo)

Any word on what time of year is best? I’ve gone up 3 times this summer to see too much snow to finish
Luckily...I am a florist.....not. Too many regulations in that part of the country...due to too many people. Beautiful promontory...would be a cool place to live...hard to believe a ranger used to be posted there. Great job dudes!

Yes....the historic plakks are why you go
I'm lavain it!
Hey Pratiwi.... loved that phrase too. Did you catch Jen's "Wah, wah" right after Nick said that! Cool couple! I'd love to meet them sometime! ... are you hearin' me, Guys??
great video; i was wondering what pilchuck was like. how do you keep your video so steady?
Thank you! My camera movement is one of two things. First I have a lcd viewer on the back of my gopro, and when I walk, I watch the viewer to make sure I am holding the shot as steady as possible. Secondly, I will do a little stabilization in post pro if the shake is too much.
You guys should do the bathtub lakes, it's up there but you go at it from pinnacle lake.
We were seriously considering this. I've heard there is a boot path from Pilchuck, but I would love to spend a night out there from the Pinnacle side.
+Outside & Stuff I herd a rumor that the forest service is going to remodel, fix up, the lookout on Pilchuck.
Hahha! loved the S...to be you and Have a nice day :)))))
muchas gracias for la informacion

gaiagps.com is the best, in my humble opinion. I never leave home without it. ;)
Outside & Stuff Thank you! Will download and give it a try.
Would this be a good hike, for someone that has never hiked before? Thanks

The biting flys are terrible during late summer, and the walk down killed my toes in my boots. So wear properly fit boots! Lol
This is not the original lookout. This one made some time after 1975. The original one had no glass windows.
Pretty hike. "Second most popular hike..." is enough to keep me away, though.
Totally agree. But Jen has her "Peak Bagger" app and needs to summit them all. :)
Pretty sure Rattlesnake Ledge is the second most popular, behind Si. Pilchuck is still crazy though -- go on a weekday though, and it's not terrible.
Lol “I’m Lava’n in”
Did you guys go in summer time?
I climbed that too all the way to the top and I feel sore
dont u guys run into wild life? its so gorgeous in washington.
Have you done si?
We've done it several times a couple years ago. But the crowds are horrible on the weekends. Even if you make sumit at the crack of dawn, getting down is already a traffic jam. However, I hear there is a scramble route up from Little Si. I might need to look further into that...
+Outside & Stuff Yeah, I think I know what you are talking about, I did that one, it was fun.
bear spray?
ain't no big whoop....easy hike 1hr 30 up 45 min down...great views though...!!!
I want to do this hike but that last bit looks sketch. Like 'how to break and ankle' sketch.
you guys are dating right? if not you should be!
Hehehe Thank you. But yes. We are a couple. :)
