I am so impressed with all the thought you put into the planning and the beautiful outcome of your work. The contrast between what was original to now is unbelievable! The overall design is timeless and so functional. Those doors, the colors, use of space, all of it! You are both excellent designers as well as experienced painters as well as knowledgeable planners. I suppose this comes with all the time you have spent with all your remodeling. You are both extremely talented.

That’s a lot of changes within a short 7months! The house feels like somewhere in Scandinavia rather than England. I suspect it’s not a priority atm, but I hope you’ll be changing the main door to the house, or change the colour so it matches the style & feel of the inside.

Beautiful. I think its very lovely. What is refreshingly great is that you’re showing us what’s happening in stages due to cost, time. Not great for you but feels more realistic and similar to the majority of people’s experience. This is more relatable and reminds me of all the blood, sweat and tears that goes into renovating a home xx which often tends to be edited away by others on the internet. Good morning Emma and Simon! Y’all are working wonders on your new home! The work is beautiful! I love the interior black framed glass doors because they let light flow throughout your house. Pacing yourselves gives you a chance to breathe and change of direction helps you to make better choices in what to do next. It will happen the correct way you want it to and you will be happy for it. Bravo to both of you! 💕

It's coming along well and you both have done so much. I noticed your office ceiling light, like it a lot. That tree did look good in the office, they are just sensitive. I am awful at keeping plants alive, but love the look of them. Again, seeing the dogs so freaking cute!!! I always liked the pool ceiling as well.
Hi Emma. The renovation progress is great and it’s definitely a matter of prioritising and finances! We’ve done 2 projects so I know what it’s like. It was strange as after we’d finished,I wanted to have another one to do- but decor as opposed to structural!! It’s looking really great and will be such a gorgeous home when you have it all as you would like.💖🌸👏🏽

I love the reality in your videos. You talk naturally about money, budgets, delays...This kind of things we don't see at other deco accounts. Sometimes I think that I´m the only one who spend all the money before finish and have to wait some time to have more money...so thank you for talk about don't´t have more budget ;)

Your home is looking lovely. You are doing a lot of the work yourselves and it's really quite a lot. It will be wonderful when you're done. My husband and I did a lot of diy to our former home and it was fun for me. My husband didn't like the hard work so much. We learned a lot about home improvement. We're old now and we have had a few things done to our current home but mostly we hire someone if we something done. Enjoy every minute of the beautiful work you are both doing. You'll feel a lot of pride when it's all done. 💝❣️🥰

Beautiful. In Canada we do open concept homes no doors on kitchens, lounges etc. To make it look large and open. You have done a great job.
I totally get it, we can have everything open so it’s more open plan but also have the doors for winter to conserve heat in whatever room we’re in. Plus it’s very useful for security of the dogs to be able to pop them in a certain area if work people are here 🙌🏼

What you’ve done is so beautiful and serene! They’d look beautiful painted Joanna, but I might suggest a German smear technique for the brick? Retains a lot of texture but tones the color way down.

Lovely home, really coming along! Not that you asked: but I highly recommend lime washing the brick rather than painting, because of the humidity from the pool… It’s also very cost effective. A bag of lime costs about $12 USD.
I just don’t like how the brick shows through with limewashing though. I want a solid colour.
@@EmmaHill That’s a style choice. You can just apply a few layers and not rub spots away for the “aged look.”

I like what you’ve done. The master bath feels authentic English the rest of the house feels Mediterranean or Californian. I’d love to do my house in the same style. I too have those leaded diamond windows in my house. I live in N.J. U.S.A and wanna pay tribute to the region.

The floor is a bit too ‘busy’ for us which is why we removed the same flooring that filled the lounge and we also want the flooring to be the same as the rest of the ground floor level too x
