Ultralight Lure Fishing - Canal Perch and Pike

- Video from a session a couple of weeks ago on a local canal. My ultralight set up was put to the test by some half decent jacks and a nice perch added a bit of sparkle to the day :)

I loved the way that first Pike had you totally under control mate! 🤣😂 and nice to see a canal with water you can see through, my nearest canal the Shropshire union is just like the Mersey "pea soup" 🙄🤣😂🎣👍
Haha yeah there was no rushing that one 😂 the canal was actually quite murky by its usual standards, its crystal in the summer!

Superb fishing as always. Three paces left from where you caught your Pike is where I had my Perch. Not a sniff where you caught yours.

Aww, no fair, can't fish my local canal as the entire 30 odd miles is SSSI and closed untill mid June. well done buddy , love the tiny Pike. Have you tried targeting silvers on micro lures?
Ah that sucks mate, didn't realise they were able to close a canal for such reasons! I've had a few silvers on micros but not had a real crack at it yet. Something to look into i think 🙂

How did you land that first and last pike without a wire trace???
Always seem to hook them in the scissors when fishing slow and ultralight tbh! The fluorocarbon I'm using is also surprisingly hard wearing for a low breaking strain 👍
