      @@Dr.AlexFxMed thank you 🙂🙏 unfortunatly i dont have Any tricks that is ment for confined spaces.. Well on a slalom setup everything is quicker, but All the pivots and some small Spins should be doable 😄

    How's your squat form? I sit majority of my day on PC, so my mobility so I find it quite problematic to open my hips, would you say that squat mobility is a stepping stone to doing mohawk properly ?

    • @wheels_in_balance
      @wheels_in_balance  2 года назад

      Its pretty important, but it doesnt require you to be able to squat fully on flat feet. In mohawk you never dip beyond 90 degrees other than style. It is however just as important to get the mobility in your knee joints so that way you can space it out between your hips and knee flexing :) it comes with time, i have not been able to do mohawk the first few years i skated and never really been stretching to archive it, it just comes the more you skate and try at it. But you can do hipflexor stretching to help it along 🙂

      @@wheels_in_balance Haha tnx fof the comforting, this will sound redicilous... most people call me advanced skater, but I can parallel slide and powerstop, while I cant do basic transition, or power slide even, same with mohawk... therfore I hope that It will come to me with time like in your case. Thanks 👌

      @@kokainakralj it Will! No worries just keep at it and try modifying the stance untill you like it and feel you can open it up enough. Maybe try grabing a chair and do the transition like i did in the video it helps alot to have that safeguardm when you Are comfy with that try and working on going straight 🙂

    Hey are your skates rockered? Is it easier to do these tricks with a rockered skate?

    I love Mohawks!
    Which skates do you have?
    Which skates would be a good pick to do Wizard, Slalom and skates through the city (like Bill Stoppard) all in one pair of skates?

    • @wheels_in_balance
      @wheels_in_balance  2 года назад +1

      Hi man! And thank you!
      I started out in a pair of FR FRX and I think they do everything ok the frame is so you can switch between flat and rockered depending on your need. Right now im on a FR Spin skate with a Far 4D frame but that is a pure slalom / wizardish setup 🙂

      @@wheels_in_balance thanks a lot for the reply. What I never really understood.. a rocker will happen just naturally after a couple of sessions, doesn't it? because especially the outer front wheel wear down the fastest. So, is it really necessary to buy (expensive) slalom/wizard skates/rockered frames, instead of just managing a bit which wheel you put on which decision?
      Also, on a rockered frame, how do you rotate your wheels/switch positions on the frame when some of them got worn down more than others. I don't know, to me it seems like when you buy a rockered frame with that 1mm or so difference, this 1mm will only last you for a session (depending on which ground conditions you skate, what kind of movements you do, which stops, and whether you train movements in both sides or not, etc etc there are many preferences/imbalances of how people skates and this will directly translate to the wear'n'tear of your wheels)
      I am trying to understand the equipment aspect of this sport (wheel size, hardness, boot, frame setups, nbr of wheels, etc) how it impacts the skating experience. How did you learn about it?

      @@schtefel well its kind of har to say.. When i started skating i was wearing My wheels very differently. Now im wearing Them All almost the same. But rockering is something that happens naturaly yes but not to the extreme that slalom and some wizard frames offers. I dont feel like i wear the rocker down but that also again depends where you place the weight and if you actually use All wheels of your skate by spining pivoting and carving.
      As far as if rocker is a total needed to do Any flow moves NO. BUT Even though you can do almost All slalom pivots and Spins on flat skates it makes it ALOT more fluid to have that consistant rockered feel. My FRX skates costed me around 200$ complete with rockered frame wheels and bearings. I really think that hardboot freeskates is alot more bang for the buck than say aggresive skates.
      All in All for me a 2mm rockered freeskate was what made me go from 7 years of aggresive skating to only pure wizard and slalom skating. 2mm sound like a little but you feel like you can spin like a ice skater compared to flat skates. It really does feel magical atleast to me.
      As for info... Well i think i just picked up on Bits along the year.. Só yea haha youtube has alot of info TiagoInline, Bill Stopard, Ricardo Lino, Thirthy and Rolling and We en your big skateshops like inline warehouse Will have reviews and experience shared in videos..
      As for me... I just spent All My money for 10 years to try almost it All haha😅

      @@wheels_in_balance Thank you so much for your answer, I really appreciate it! My skate buckle strap thingy broke and I need to buy new skates anyways, can't wait to get back on some new ones..
      So, you have tried a lot of different skates that's cool. How do you like 5 wheels (/watch?v=xiJbqO3R3eY)? Fundamentally, I am not even sure yet whether I should go for 3, 4 or 5 wheels^^

    • @wheels_in_balance
      @wheels_in_balance  2 года назад +1

      @@schtefel 5 wheels Are super Nice for cruising and you Will get more of a flowing ski feeling! I used to ride a 5x76 and 5x90 frame but I like the short slalom frames much more because they feel "snappy".
      I would say 3 wheels: you like going for long Runs just going straight
      4 wheels: you either do slalom or a bit more Quick movements
      5 wheels: you either ride downhill or wizard and get those long drawn out Spins and pivots 🙂
