I don't think they are really considered underground these rappers are in the mainstream particularly the artists from the 2 labels Jay Parks owns AOMG and H1ghr Music it's just not on the same level as kpop which is a shame because these khiphop artists are really talented. They are heavily influenced by American hiphop artists and quite a few of them are well versed in the history and culture of hiphop probably more than some of these newer rappers in the states today, hopefully since Jay Park is signed to Roc Nations now he can open some doors for more Korean hipbop artists to crossover to the states like BTS did for kpop in the states although it will be harder for khiphop artists given that hiphop in the states is largely African American were as pop music is alot more diverse.

Khh actually has a big following outside of korea, but those who stay in the kpop realm obviously wouldn't know. If you want to learn more about khh, khh twt is usually a good place. There's threads that are dedicated to help others learn about certain crews and artitsts. As well as accounts that to translate khh content. I will say that quite a few khh fans are older kpop fans who want to expand. And usually have a distaste to new kpop fans/kpoppies who only say they like khh to be edgy. What I have noticed about the khh community after like 6 years is that it tends to be a little closed, especially if you like kpop. Which sucks but I think it's because the kpop fandom has gotten crazier and more hate within recent years as it's gotten bigger. And they want to differentiate themselves from kpop. But like I said a large amount of khh stans are old kpop fans so they do still like kpop. But aren't as open to say so in order to avoid new kpop fans or kpoppies.
