@@BluntTedTalksMusic- amazing that was him looking like Rambo back in the day and that's still him (Brett Garsed) on the guitar decades? Later with John. Lindsay Field was there two as one of his backing vocalists 😊
I love all 3 of these versions, the link between John and Jimmy both recording this song is the writer, Steve Prestwich, drummer for Chisel and later for LRB with John, and Steve asked John if he would like sing it, Thankyou,
All 3 were great. Johns voice got better and better. The second one was the most recent and his voice got better and better. I look forward to hearing the cold chisel version as well. Thank you for watching and for your comment
Thank so much for doing these 3 together for me Ted, this was fantastic!! 😊❤❤ I figured that fans either like the 1987 or the 2003 Farnsey version the most, so why not put them together!! Everyone's a winner! 😉😍 Powerhouse vocals full of emotion. As I said in the chat, no one belts like Farnsey IMHO. The final video just shows the admiration and respect John and Jimmy have for each other. They are like magic together on stage, I wish they had done more together. Thanks again Ted. Missed you in the chat today, and I hope work wasn't too bad for you. Take care everyone 🥰🤗❤❤
Thank you i was gutted at 6am knowing i couldnt join the chat. What was the time like for an upload ? Am experimenting with times a little and figured evening in australia be better than very early in morning. People bit more awake. I very much enjoyed all 3 versions and as always johns voice just gets better and better. In the 2003 version his voice sounded amazing and looked like was not a struggle for him at all to hit the same notes. Am fast becoming a fan of jimmy barnes as well. He is made of stardust like john is. Could you imagine being in a room with the both of them ? Work wasnt too bad i suppose just very long day and very cold and wet ❤️❤️
@BluntTedTalksMusic There is always next time 😉 It was 4:30pm here so a good time for a video from my perspective. I like all 3 too. Different feel for each. There are many more versions, but those are the most popular. John's voice just never faulted. I can't wait for you to see where it all began in the next double I have sent you. I hope you like it. I will also send you that LRB double later to add to the list 😄 The two of them together would literally blow you across the room!! The power in their voices is incredible! Have you noticed how far away John holds his microphone?!! He has blown many of them, and those he hasn't, he destroys by throwing across the stage!! I love it 😅😅❤️❤️
@BluntTedTalksMusic Okay, here is the next double feature. John singing LRB, without LRB... well almost. Both clips are from the same 1987 concert. And both songs feature Wayne Nelson and David Hirschfelder from LRB now as part of John's band 😊 First is Playing To Win, written by John and from LRB's album of the same name. This clip also has a little intro to the band members which you might like to keep in the video to get to know the band a bit more 😉 ruclips.net/video/m795g0gge4k/видео.htmlsi=3ImGGzF4IwXp8RWA Second is Down On The Border. From the album The Net - fantastic album with loads of great songs 😊 ruclips.net/video/bmwBjA_xWP4/видео.htmlsi=UUs0BgHAmM1MhPeT Hopefully I have the links correct. I will sort if they are wrong. Thanks Ted. Talk again soon 🤗❤❤
I noticed that after someone pointed it out and now i cant unsee it lol. That shows the power behind his voice and the older he got the further away it got. I look forward to seeing the other doubles. The lrb one i cant wait. The list has gone down a bit as most requests this last week have been other ones that have been requested previously by others so gave me chance to get it down a bit. Theres a kasey chambers double in there as well. Her eminem cover was the song that got me reacting to aussie music. It was amazing. Apologies for the late replies. I fell asleep on sofa last night and woke up about 1am in a daze. So tired lol. Hope ur doing good and speak soon, thanks for sending the other song links ❤️❤️
@@BluntTedTalksMusic Thanks Ted. Glad you got the links and info okay 😊 I am looking forward to all the videos coming up, they should be great. Yeah, that Kasey Chambers cover is amazing. She completely turn that song on its head 👏 Take care Ted and get some rest!!! 🤗❤❤
I can see why. Music has that effect on me as well and johns singing and his tones can invoke tears. I shed a few the other day with his version of silent night. Thank you for watching and for your comment ❤️
First heard this song on the No Reins On Me album by Little River Band when it first came out. This song and Forever Blue have always been two of my favorites from that album. Then in 2023 I discovered You're The Voice and recognized John's voice when he started singing the song. After listening to Help, I dicovered the version by John and Jimmy.
Sounds like there is quite a few versions floating around i will have to check out. Will defo check out the lrb version. Love the version with jimmy on as well
Thank you so much for giving us this triple treat, Ted. This is one of my favorite John Farnham songs. I love all 3 of these for different reasons, but my personal favorite is the 1987 one.
Yeah all 3 were great i enjoyed them i think 2003 was my fave. His voice had reached an extra level. Also i liked the piano instead of the synth in the first one. Altho i think my fave could change depending on my mood that day
Wow, what a treat with this one, love these double/triple reactions. I think the 3rd one would have been the earliest and the second one the latest but all 3 were awesome. I think Jimmy was half cut in that concert and not at his best but still great to see him out there with John. The 2nd and newest version is my favorite, John poured his heart and soul into that one, the passion and emotion he put into it was simply incredible. John always gives it his all put in the 2nd one the emotion on his face and in his voice was something special and backing vocals, the band, and especially guitar was epic, love the guitar riff in this song and played to perfection by Brett as usual. The cold chisel version is great and iconic but personally I prefer John’s version, especially the 2nd one here. As you already mentioned about John’s voice, I also have always been amazed he never blew his voice out like most singers that have performed as long as John has and that style of music, with all those powerful high belting vocals John just got better and better, which is just another testament to just how great he is. With the powerful, high notes always so crisp and clear, amazing tone, breath control, mic technique, stage presence, everything, just the perfect package and if not for his cancer I dare say he would still be doing it now. Amazing reaction Ted, well done and hope the hand gets better soon.
I think i agree with you with the second one being my fave also. His voice had reached an extra level by that point and hit the notes with ease. Id had all 3 version recommended but the first 2 as a double so thought id throw the third one in as a bonus. All 3 were great tho and is good to see how his voice grew over time. Love that he could still pull a massive audience and i think he still could now if he was still performing. Ticket sales would break the internet and phone lines lol. Cheers mate hands a bit bitter. Still sore but better than was. Thanks for watching and for your comment mate
Great choice of versions. Thanks Ted - thanks Annie - John is just the best ❤❤ The passion and emotion are just magical and his range and control - who else can sing like that? 😍♥️🤩
Thank you for watching i loved seeing all 3 versions and how his voice got better an better. Literally nobody can do it like john. Meatloaf had a very strong voice r i p to him but i dont think his voice would of held out the way johns has over the years. John is the greatest ❤️❤️
Thanks Ted for the reaction. I love all three versions of this song (it's a beautiful song). But now you have to check out Cold Chisel's version - it too is great.
Thats firmly on the list now the cold chisel version i cant wait. Thats the downside to doing reaction videos is i cant just binge on all this music but at same time its good i can take my time and fully take the songs in and compare versions. Thank you very much for watching and for your comment
Great triple threat reaction. John is brilliant at any stage of his life. Loved your reaction. The respect he shows others and how others respect John was well picked up on in your reaction. He is truly is a humble and down to earth guy, no ego or essentrics with John. What you see is what you get.
I love that about him. I noticed along the way he always makes time for the rest of the band and backing singers. He introduces them and puts spotlight on them. Most performers these days keep the band at the back or even under the stage lol. Backing tapes etc. john does it how its meant to be done. Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching
Hi there thank for the comment and for watching. That is on my list, its been recommended a few times now and i think because of my love of guitars. I wish i could play them. When played well theres no better sound
I think is just this one that i can see. Yt is bit crap sometimes for disappearing comments. Iv some i cant see that others can sometimes as well. Loved all 3 version as well was good to hear them side by side coz all the same but so very different and special in their own ways. Thanks for watching an for your comment ❤️
Blunt Ted, I’ve got to start this at the beginning again, as I missed a bit🥴. I can tell your British, from England? Has anyone told you yet that John Farnham was born in Dagenham England - came to Aus with his parents, siblings, & grandparents when he was about 10.
Yeah few people mentioned it. I plan to do some research into his street and school etc and go visit i think for a video. Its only couple hours drive away. You were very lucky to have him in australia. An amazing artist and guy
No worries mate thank you for watching. Hand still a bit sore but lot better than it was the other day. My elbow been sore as well i must of banged that as well lol
Try the ringside concert for Cold Chisel, they broke up after that one. They have got back together periodically since. They did a single recently gotta Move, practising for another tour, but Jimmy had a medical thing they put it off for a bit.
It feels like he owns them when he performs them. Especially “one” iv checked the original and im sure iv only ever heard johns version. He is gifted indeed
Hi there thanks for the recommendation. Iv just wrote that one down as is 2 of you who have recommended it today so im gonna trust that its defo to be seen
Well wasn't that a treat. I love the way John sings this Cold Chisel Classic. It's a bit slower than Chisels original 1982 version and so powerful. The original Cold Chisel version is sung by Ian Moss first up for the lower parts, with Jimmy coming in later with the higher and grittier vocals. You should do both the original 1982 version ( this was shortly before they broke up m.ruclips.net/video/VsFFBc7dhD0/видео.html And the later version when the band got back together. I think 2010 or 2011...but im sure someone will correct me m.ruclips.net/video/x4Wwq9_zn_c/видео.html The later version was much slower and kind of similar to John Farnham's cover You should also check out the Little River Band version. Chisels drummer Steve Prestwich wrote this song and when Cold Chisel broke up he joined LRB as their drummer. LRB were going through a lot of personnel changes at the time, and John was also hired as their new lead singer at around the same time. So it's an even younger John singing it for the first time. The LRB version is closer to the Cold Chisel original style and tempo. m.ruclips.net/video/MkYJNLLXFSo/видео.html
Thanks for posting the links i was wanting to check the cold chisel and lrb versions out as well but i can do as another triple il add these to the list. The young lass doing backing vocals(2007) is related to one of the ladies in the film clip for Sadie the Cleaning Lady.
