Sir. In Nirvana Astakam It Is Clearly Said. No Mother No Father. No Guru No Shishya. Chidanand Rupah Shivoham Shivoham. Means. Guru Is Necessary But Not Too Much Dependent. Because There Are So Many Examples Where People Or Individuals Have Got Enlightened Without Seeking A Guru. I Am Sure That Guru Is A Great Guide. But Enlightenment Is Possible By Self Enquiry And Guidance Of Guru, But Not Dependent On Guru.
Did you miss the point? When one has never been born, then there is logically no death or rebirth, which means no enlightenment or liberation for that now becomes IRRELEVANT, a non sequitur. What is missing here, in this reading of the teachings of N. Maharaj, is this: that one has to go beyond consciousness and look into that which is PRIOR to consciousness.
@@IIEthanGamingII Guru ----- > Sadguru/Realized Guru. In Indonesia and Malaysia, a chemistry or geography teacher is called a 'guru'. Same in western countries where one can find financial gurus, marketing gurus, etc. these are not spiritual masters but someone skilled or knowledgeable in some field. Worse, there are 'gurus' in the spiritual field that are bad, substandard and even evil ones who prey on unsuspecting aspirants. These cannot be described as 'one' with God at all. The word 'Self' or 'SELF', spelled with an upper case 'S', is the Atman and should not be confused with that spelled with a lower case 's' for 'self' is just the personality or ego-mind. In fact, it's the opposite of that designated as 'Self'. So what you wrote here, if I may point out, should be written as "God, Sadguru and the Self are one and the same entity." In Indian culture, the folks would add 'father and mother' to the list as well but given that nowadays some parents don't lead exemplary lives like in the olden days, they can best be left out. Ultimately, as Maharaj once pointed out, they all don't matter for they are only concepts that one has created. When one digs deeper, one will realize this: Before God can even exist, one has to exist first.

same thing, different name. Who is "understanding"? Just examine his thought/guidance WITHOUT conclusion and then if there is any resistance/occlusion, YOU (and ONLY you) see (feel) that- The resistance is in YOUR "you"!
My understanding s that Nisargadatt Maharaj distinguishes between Consciousness and Awareness. Consciousness is what we use for the senses and is connected with the mind. Awareness is the true nature of what we are... beyond our body, mind and our consciousness. I'm not an expert and my use of the words may not be precise. Please listen to NM in the light of my explanation and see if you get your clarity.
Excellent observation, yet Sri is absolutely correct. The consciousness is of the body. The awareness is beyond. When u stabilize in this direct experience then you are 0ne no longer 2
Around 59:00 it is said : What is prior to Consciousness witnesses it. So Nisargadetta is talking here about AWARENESS that witnesses the activities of Consciousness of the mind and therefore, logically is "prior to Consciousness" I hope that clarifies it precisely enough for you....🤗
Having studied much Niz, I am stuck with the philosophical issue of whether the Absolute does or does not have an original lack, that of unawareness of itself. It seems the Absolute is unaware of its own existence. If so, then aren't we actually better off? We are better off than a dog, for example, precisely because we are self-aware and the dog, cat, mosquito is not. If the Absolute were happy with itself, then why is there a world at all? And why should we strive to become the Absolute, only to find that it is non-self-aware, in which case, we would not even be able to enjoy it. It is like the smile without a cat from Alice in Wonderland. In other words, can you be happy without having any awareness at all? Are we essentially striving to become dead, or inanimate? Is this a worship of death, presented as a high truth? If the Absolute is not whole and complete, then I am afraid that there is no escape from this cycle of suffering; nothing is happy, even God. Niz chain-smoked and had a rather salty attitude; are we sure he is the paragon?
I dont understand how anyone can "drop the body identity" and get married, have a family,or hold a job.Nisargadatta did,so did Papaji....Ramanah did not.I dont get how its possible
The accent is fine , it has some emphasis on some important points with right intonation , even sometimes it's like Maharaj speaking English directly , if it's spoken in Indian accent it is unbearable for most folks but due to politeness most are too concern to voice out about it, but no offense if you are Indian but that's the truth.

I agree but, just because there’s no guru in Nirvana doesn’t mean a guru isn’t needed to achieve it. Nevertheless, I think it’s possible without one.
Use guru as you use a hammer, or a god. Any good tool will get you there :)
