why aren't these visuals in the actual game. the in-game tutorial needs improvement. I wish it was an interactive tutorial where you have can practice repetitively and the game moves on to more advanced moves once you've got the basic moves down...
Very good video, but I kinda wish that more of these techniques were conveyed in the actual beta and that the tutorialization was better in general. Hopefully that's something that can be addressed by launch, because I had a lot of fun on the beta.
I just had a really great idea!! 2 vs 2 mode Which obviously wouldn’t work looking at the games normal conditions(ie - goal, disc, player and court sizes). BUT for switch they could utilize Tate mode and it would work giving plenty of room for a teammate. While still being something different, not just because of the extra players, but also the much shorter court length would add a more wacky/hectic dynamic to the gameplay. It might even be fun playing 1 vs 1 to mix it up. Or a really skilled player taking on 2 lesser opponents by themself. Something to consider. But tate mode for 2 vs 2 should really be looked at by the devs.
If someday they release another new update of Streets of rage 4 I would love them to be playable characters: Skate and Dr Zan in Cartoon version and a time trial mode like Streets of rage 2 ♥️ PD: I don't speak English, so forgive the spelling mistakes ...

This should be ingame, cause after 10 matches i didn't even figure how to preform a good shot, only weak ridiculous slow shots, and i got mad ! There's no paper notice anymore, so if you don't explain things, game mechanic stays cryptic and it's frustating.
Welcome to what we call an arcade-like experience. Also the tutorial mode is enough to make you understand what's possible in the game. You do & learn the rest :)

Is there a tutorial like this but for switch controls? I can’t find anything on RUclips or through a web search. They really should have provided something like this video on their channel. Being that the in game tutorial is not very thorough and can’t be referenced while in a match. Not even a basic controls screen, something pretty standard in all games, going as far back as the 8 bit gen. With this type of game and it having a nice variety of deeper mechanics, they really should have made the tutorial more engaging. One where you try each type of shot after it’s explained until you get it right or choose to move forward. Hard to believe they didn’t recognize how much better this would have made it for the casual player/newcomer. Especially for such a long development and care given otherwise. I would update it with this and a controls screen in menu that can be accessed during play(gotta remember: booklets aren’t standard anymore), before even considering anything DLC. But that would be nice too, even if it costs a few bucks.
I do hope the dash is a separate button and not tied to the throw button. My friend and I hand many times where we dashed instead of bouncing the disc up
It is tied to the throw button. You will get dashes if you hold a direction, so you'll have to be aware if you're holding a direction when you want to pop it up.

How in the world did they screw up windjammers 2 so bad? Look, your ranked mode sucks. Who does points this way? And your tutorial is completely useless in game. I shouldn't have to go online to find out how to play and have so much critical information STILL missing. The movement is bad. Omnidirectional movement is not hard and I don't know why you insisted on mere 8 directions especially when the disc can curve. Your online is garbage and the pings are ridiculous at least for NA. You don't explain how disc speed works nor the different types of that particular throw. You explain how to throw the disc at the most basic uncompetitive level but yet in practice it's complete trash as no matter how I'm trying to move the disc, it goes straight at my opponent for any move other than X. You'll never want to jump and throw because it only goes straight and they'll be right there. You say nothing about countering specials (3:35) either except the defense super. Slapshots are also useless since you can just catch and throw fast (but you don't explain how) and also curve while doing them. I really want to love this but it infuriated me so quickly it should be a crime. And why is this terrible trailer have the worst voice modulation I've ever heard? Just do it normally, would have probably been cheaper and less stupid. And you explain naught at all about how bouncing works and how it can happen seemingly at random. Jesus Christ I've never been so dismayed over something I like. I can't even bring myself to invite friends it's so bad. You also don't explain the difference between speed and power. Again the counter at 3:35. Not doing that with a speed character because they'll get smashed backwards, so power is all that really matters. Most of the extra moves don't work because most matches are just dashing and throwing with X and when you do get a move off, if the ping isn't bad and they teleport to the disc with a too-wide margin for error (I've clipped some of these) all the moves go straight at them instead of being able to throw it in a controllable direction.
tried this on game pass - what a pile of garbage! Impossible to control, even on easy the AI scores with every shot and blocks every shot made against them. Definitely one to avoid if you were thinking of buying it.

Crazy to see this game series make a comeback. I fully enjoyed the game on neo geo arcade hardware when I was a teen back in the early 90's.

The original trailers were for Switch and PC. Pretty sure they didn't mention Nintendo because its a PS ad.

Anyone able to explain why some tosses or supers go through you and scores? Like your character gets hit?
It's the principe of supers. You can counter it if you do a toss, but if you dash or don't do it in time, you get pushed backwards.
