"Little Free Libraries" are very popular all over the world. I have found some really amazing books and unpublished proofs in some. The one unpublished proof I found that I adored was a science fiction novel, "Afterparty" by Daryl Gregory. He's a very cool writer.

I still just don’t understand why people just throw this stuff away when they make drive up donation centers. They already have it in boxes and bags just drive up and have the donation volunteer or employee take it out of the car for you. Less work and you help others in need. I left that all for her to decide what she wanted to keep and what she wanted to donate! She still has ALL of her books and I think most of her toys!! Glad she has a lot of storage in her house!! My nephew who is 28 has been collecting Magic the Gathering game cards since he was 14. He has all of those storage cases. He has thousands of $ worth of those cards. Some are very valuable.
You could almost stock a small childcare facility with what you pulled out of that bin! The books..it kills me to see books tossed out like somebody's garbage...oh, wait...they were. Steve and Steph, I absolutely love you guys!!! My husband and I watch you over dinner and have so many great laughs. I get so excited when you rescue new items that the stores pitch. I love your mission to keep usable items out of the landfills. However, when you pull items from a dumpster that are clearly from a personal household, those items may be contaminated with bacteria or viruses that can sometimes remain viable on hard surfaces for weeks or even months. Short of that, the home may have had infestations of fleas, roaches, scabies, or whatever other pests. That may be why the items were intentionally discarded rather than placed in that donation bin a few yards away. You always ask that question. People should not feel obligated to label trash to warn dumpster divers of possible risks and why seemingly good items were tossed. Just be careful guys....... xoxo.

I think that this dumpster is being filled with people's belongings that were in storage units that were not paid or abandoned. My brother lives near storage facilities and when they take auctioned or abandoned units contents and take them to a dumpster near a community center and Park. Reason is if this was so that they wouldn't get charged for disposal and so that the owners who abandoned or did not pay would come rummaging through there dumpsters. I'm glad you guys are saving these Toys, clothes, & books and any usable items. Good to know you guys are making good use of them. Why do you guys leave all the hangers all the time? Toys, books and Hanger's & clothes can go to women's shelters or places for community service centers. Love you Guys! God Bless!💕

Some people may buy the VHS tapes. I had some last year and a guy bought them all. He said he can record over them. They don't sell them anymore he said. Also, I guess The VCR players are worth something now too. I was told one that had a DVD player with the VCR was worth alot more. I guess they aren't to hard to fix for some one that works on electronics. Sad, we live in such a throw away society.

They love so much of the items you both come across. My son in law was on call at the hospital over the July 4 th weekend. I learn things they like from you both. It seems like someone is too lazy to take and drop their donating stuff off at a GoodWill, so they'd rather toss it into a dumpster, without thinking that this goes in our landfills. This is so annoying, but thankfully you find it before it reaches them. You're good people! I would do this if I was younger, but then Oregon has the kind of dumpsters you can't see what's tossed out.

During covid donation centers have not been accepting donations. At least here in Michigan no one would take donations.

Looks like a school teacher cleaning house. This is useful for parents who have decided that home schooling is more stable for the young ones.
