Thanks Mr. Ryan! Almost bought this one a few weeks ago but ended up getting another one instead. Your review provides a good reason to keep it on my list.
Yes. Sensitivity is different from impedance. You can use a headphone calculator! Generally, lower impedance planars need more power, whilst higher impedance dynamic drivers are easier to drive.
@@migadepancito OK, thanks for the recap. I was curious about the amp not he headphones since Impedance Curve of dynamic drivers and its effect on Voltage swing , and how he is measuring the amp requirement at 15 & 300 ohms load. (For low output impedance IG)
@@audiowithargha Some amps are good at delivering high voltage for high impedance headphones but struggle and start to distort when delivering the required amount of electrical current for low impedance headphones. This current requirement drastically increases the lower the headphones impedance and the lower the headphones sensitivity is. So generally, for high impedance headphones you need a lot of voltage and for low impedance headphones you need a lot of current.
@@ReaktormanNr1 Hi sir , thanks for the reply IDK why I am getting lectures on Basic Power Electronics. I have no need for that now. But so glad you replied
I think it’s more of where your ears are placed on your head. I have a large head but my ears are closer to the top of my head so large headphones tend not to work.
Great review, on a side note though... since you were at the Shenzhen Audio event, did you get to hear Shanling's new planar headphone the HW600? If yes, any impressions so far?
It might be an old one but can you review the AKG k702? Can't find many detailed reviews which is surprising for such an old headphone. Also would like to know how it compares to the current 'relevant' headphones
After EQ a great headphone, but essentially the same as any 700-series. Best staging for the price. Bass works well for not particularly bassy music. Excellent for gaming. For just music HE400se Stealth is just better and it doesn't require EQ though like always it helps.
will you be reviewing Dunu Kima2? been thinking to look at it vs Aria2 for myself for Christmas not sure if Dunu build quality is enough to justify it being an extra 30-40 bucks... i always liked the Kima shell better than MDs single dds tho
@@SuperReviewsince talking about Dunu, will you be also taking a look at the Dunu CD-Player by any chance? (Was at SIAS too) Looks cooler than the Moondrop ones to me with this volume slider (maybe a comparison between them with the Fiio one? That’s a bit too much to ask though, I believe 😂
Does it play hip hop well? Didn’t expect that, that’s my assumption not experience. Enjoy my 6XX, enjoy detail, wide stage, get flat recordings will lose out. Interesting the idea of deep, mid base, texture is there, not muddy 👍
I think so, but I'll test that specifically before I review. Trying to think if I have any CDs with seamless transitions, maybe Alice in Chains Unplugged.
Sounds like a pretty good headphone. At the end of the day $900 is bit much for a headphone to me. I"ll just stick with my 6xx and continue to cope with the mediocre bass extension.
I kind of agree. And not because it doesn't sound worth the $900 price, it's just the form factor isn't quite there. That said... I'd take this over most $1,000 headphones.
Basically this is the situation Mr. Ryan. On the Discovery Thread on Head-Fi, I posted and quoted the lyrics "This review is super. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah..." If i find it used or on sale i might grab it, though what worries me most is the fit. Might not fit my head AT ALL. Wish i could demo it somewhere...
The metal headband looks a bit silly IMO 😅 Hopefully the sound quality is good enough to overlook that
9:33 Cosmo is rated at 12.5 ohms and HD600 is at 300ohms. Do you mean that the same amp can't power Cosmo properly that can power HD600 well ?

Yayy a new video..!
You lost me at 1:19 . 900bucks 😂😂😂
Nice to see Moondrop making a decent headphone. Too bad about the fitment issue. Fix that and they probably have something for open back lovers.
Or take a bunch of human growth hormone and get a big head.
In soundstage term, How wide they are ? like some those HFM egg shape or somethings ?
In the ballpark yeah. I don't get very specific about comparing soundstage widths.
How about Resolution / Detail compare with MM-500 ?
and which one u love more ?

It is objectively thin. Not a problem for me though.

The bass is really fine on the Sennheisers.
Cope indeed. Almost all music has information at 50hz and the Fletcher Munson curve dictates it should rise at that frequency, not start dropping off.
