The fact that not only these parents submitted a complaint about the bible, but managed to get so far as to get the Bible actually banned from schools in UTAH of all places has to be the funniest act of malicious compliance I've ever heard of.
Contrary to popular belief, Mormons do not believe in the Bible they believe in the book of Mormon the pearl of great price and the doctrine and covenants.
I think it is tied with the fact that Wyoming can't ban abortion because out of spite when Obamacare was passed they made a constitinual admendment that citizens could choose their own healthcare. Abortion is healthcare so because of their constitutional amendment meant as an F you to Obama, they can't ban it.
What's even funnier is that pokimane is staying on twitch because of "ethics" when they are treating their employees as legitimate slaves. Well she did say the n word 😅🤣🤣🤣
For both the submersible and Texas story; remember that regulations are written in blood. Regulations can kill companies, but a lack of regulations will kill people
The more people die, the bigger the workload gets for the remaining workers. Eventually, this could result in mass walkouts or a collapse of the construction industry if the government is not careful.
As a Texan, I can't say I'm surprised about the stripping of worker protections. Most construction and maintenance personnel, myself included, come from a poor or minority background. Two groups Texas politicians simply would not ever listen to.
Reading this as a European, I really feel for you US workers 😢 In the majority of countries over here, labor law is almost sacred and you can't just pass whack laws like this, especially not on a whim. I hope all those construction workers boycott until they get the rights they deserve as workers.
Texas getting rid of water breaks is the equivalent of Minnesota no longer require electric companies to keep buildings heated during the winter time. This is absolute insanity! People will die from this!
Dude. Texas is extreme! We wouldn’t even dream of doing that in AZ. And we’re still a pretty red state. These lack of regulations will get people killed. Thank God AZ is a purple state now, cause damn Abbot and the GOP are cruel.
Can we also just say that having laws on the state level too for things like water breaks, it shows that the state itself cares about the well being of its people, not just OSHA or the Feds. It’s about showing human decency and valuing lives for Christ sakes!
They really need to invest in flood lights and have construction crews in Texas do more night work. The heat is just too freakin’ dangerous here, even without politicians proving they’re entitled evil trolls
Having worked construction in summers in Texas, I don't think I could have survived those jobs without water breaks. There'd be days where I'd drink entire gallons of water throughout the day, and my pee would still come out piss brown simply because my body was sweating so much in the humid 100+ degree heat. I can proudly say that I did not vote for Greg Abbott.
I use to wear rubber boots remodeling pools in FL. I'd pour out half a gallon of sweat through out the day. I drank on avg a gallon of water every day. My piss looked normal to clear. I don't drink alcohol though. You might want to get checked .
I agree. They did make them sign those waivers that said they could be killed, not that the families need to sue since they were all ridiculously rich. To bad Jeff bozo wasn't on that one
Tbh it doesn't seem like there's any chance to save the sub. Every new detail about its design diminishes their chance bit by bit. They say they've heard knocking every 30 minutes but tbh that could be anything in the ocean. No escape hatch, a single button outside of the controller to rise and fall so if that's gone idk what they're expected to do. And apparently even the CO2 was faulty as well. AND IT'S JUST THE CEO MANNING IT WITH 4 RANDOM BILLIONAIRES VIRTUALLY NO PROFESSIONAL HELP.
@@slicingonions4398even with that, if they ignored serious concerns or refused anything that would have show there was a problem. It will void the waivers

Book ban just proves how hypocritical these people are. Ban every book they don't believe in but if their book is banned suddenly the law they put in place isn't right anymore.
Not just they unbanned the book that they liked, but one that has mass murder on a regular basis. They wouldn't let ANY other book with the kind of content the Bible has in their school. They have no ethics/morals, and every convo should be approached as such.
These stupid failures have always been hypocrites, be it how they treat rights to your own body, free speech etc. More people need to call out how society would be better off if these uneducated trash offed themselves. Their trash lives have no benefit. Burdens...
Hey Phil, I'm not sure if you've heard (because I hadn't until just recently) but there was a boat full of hundreds of refugees that capsized off the coast of Greece on Tuesday. Only 104 survived out of the 800+ on board, yet the submarine news has unfortunately overshadowed it
I was wondering if he'd cover that especially as a lot of people have been talking about the difference in coverage between that story and the titanic sub story. There's also various doubts about the coast guards account of the situation with them saying the boat was moving on a steady course and didn't need help but various other accounts show the boat barely moved in this time and was obviously struggling. From what I've heard there were about 100 children on board, not a single one has been found yet, such a terrible event.
@emmao6578 yep.. it's not fair, they have had so much coverage about the submersible in the UK & barely anything about the refugees, the ones escaping W A R & persecution.. The fact so much money was spent on the rescue attempts, so much money was spent producing this content including a big chunk of time in which one of our oldest TV channels dedicated to the submersible even after his interview/"documentary" where this silly mission was pointed out & that the CEO knowingly skimped on it in every way really, all while the implosion was noticed early on by a bunch of meters around the world? I feel bad for the expert & the kid, but otherwise wth they went out in an instant & that's a mercy, he had mentioned the acrylic window bends on multiple prior dives 😑 Compared to, yet again, a very small amount of coverage of another heartbreaking tragedy befalling people fleeing for their lives
I live in Utah. The book banning in schools is getting ridiculous. I’m religious and find this absolutely hilarious. Maybe people will understand the hypocrisy and double standard they set.
It's not ridiculous if it's coming out of taxpayer money. There's the logic. "Book banning" is often misreported (lies) depending on the case. Did they stop buying them? They did throw out the books? Did they ban the sales? All those are different.
The more I learn about the evolution of slavery the less I am amazed. These actions all stem from this entitlement and instead of abandoning these things they evolved.
Well a lot of it is because we never addressed the root problem here, that is the subhumans who run these businesses. We see a pattern of people in power here disregarding the safety of the people who work for them (willing or not). They would make you slaves if it was legal, but this cruelty is the best they can do instead. We keep treating the symptoms of subhuman greed instead of the main cause.
As a Texan, yeah this water break bill is wild. People die every year from the heat. Even middle and high schoolers have died from heat stroke as a result of not getting enough water. The only way I can see this bill being “unnecessary” is if every entity collectively agrees to let their employees drink however much water they want whenever they want. It’s been about 11 years since I graduated high school but I still remember after a kid in a different nearby school district died of heatstroke, our teachers and coaches all pretty much abandoned the “ask for permission” to get water rule and instead it became this unspoken thing of “just go get water and come back quick, no questions asked”.
Truth. They scream, “religious freedom” and then turn around and go, “how dare you be a religion that’s not mine!”, “everyone has to follow the rules of MY religion or you’re oppressing me!”
@@Nevertoleave Did someone just say they want to put the Koran in MY SCHOOL? They're corrupting our youth! WAIT, THEY'RE TRYING TO TAKE THE BIBLE OUT?!?!?!?
On the water breaks. I've said it before and i'll say it again. Any company would pay you nothing and work you until you collapsed dead if they could get away with it. Do. Not. Let. Them.
@@86jpw At some point you need to switch to new pilots if they want the Business running longer than 30 or so years. Plus you'd be surprised how many machines are controlled with controllers. But I mean... they worked with boeing on the sub. Ignoring safety concerns seems to be par for the course.
I work in and have a masters degree in Health and Safety and you would be SHOCKED to see how many businesses cut corners on safety measures to save a tiny bit of money, only to then end up being far more screwed down the line and spending far more to fix it than preventing it would’ve cost.
I also work in Health and Safety, primarily for construction companies. It is sometimes hilarious how often a company will try to cut corners to save a Nickel. That water requirement for Houston was written for a reason. We will unfortunately again see why they put that requirement in place.
I just got back from Texas and just walking 20 minutes to get somewhere made me feel like I was going to pass out. It was so intensely hot. I recall vividly walking past a work crew who were laying in the shade and taking a full crew water break. Can't help but think about them now, and the others like them who are about to be pushed into dangerous working conditions. So outrageous and unnecessarily cruel. And not that it matters in the slightest compared to safety but in the long run it isn't going to help anybody's bottom line. Nobody can work productively in these conditions, period.
Extremists like Abbot are insanely dumb. This will get people killed, and it will cost companies money in lawsuits and labor loss. I think many workers will just abandon the state like they did with Florida when DeSantis passed that anti immigrant law.
As a Utah resident I was stoked when they banned the Bible in middle school and below. There is enough religious influence in the state as is and the book justly fell under the book banning law. It’s a shame they undid the ban but it’s unsurprising with the amount of wormy politicians in the state.
Hypocrisy isn't a strong enough word for them reinstating the Bible. It's disgusting that these so called Christians have no problems blatantly lying about what the ban does.
Church and state are supposed to be separate though. Don't they have enough Bibles at home they don't need one from the school library? I wish someone had challenged them unbanning the book if it met all of the standards for being banned as they can not determine what is of such significance over other books that may have been banned where other people may feel they are significant for children to have access to. How does this not cross into bias for the church in a political position when church and state are supposed to be seperate? If someone in elected power is unable to hold their bias for any religious views in private then they need to be replaced with someone who can. Probably hard in Utah, but still.
As a Texan, I can say that the high temperatures here are no joke. We all know that companies always take shortcuts whenever they can. Without a clearly defined mandate for water breaks, several construction workers will die at the hands of uncaring bosses.
Well do us alll a favor and vote old Hot Wheels out of office next cycle. I know its a stretch to vote in a Dem, so lets just do better than old Piss Baby.
To be honest when I worked in hot weather I took a quick break to get water whenever I felt I needed it, if I ever get fired because of that I would sue, I am pretty sure I'd have a good case as would anyone. Everyone take a quick break and drink some water whenever you feel you need it, it's better to lose your job than your life.
@@JonathanAlmgren exactly. So many people think they need to stay in their bosses good graces at all times or it makes them look like a bad person, or it puts you in a bad light or something. And a huge group of those people are in management positions.
i think abbott’s wheelchair needs to be taken from him and he should be forced to crawl around looking for it outside. “sowwy, mister half man, you’re getting colder, well..”
For real. Anyone that opposes water breaks for outside workers I’d like to see them survive in this heat for hours with no water. People truly lack empathy. Profit over safety I guess.
It why we always hear about them flying to an island getaway or some place that is not TX, because they know the laws they make suck so even they don't want to be there.
@aurorethebore I think that's what he was saying. He was saying the politicians and people who complain about regulations are the same people who want and/or do abuse regulations to benefit only the conglomerates. Small businesses and workers get screwed. And I totally agree. I mean the same people who scream about rights and freedoms are the same people who voted to ban abortion so someone's not playing with a full deck if you know what I mean.
@@hotarubinariko That makes more sense. I understood it as him saying people who care about regulations don’t care about small businesses getting fucked over, which I disagree with. It’s normal to care more about the well-being of people over businesses.
As someone who lives in Utah, your perspective is right on. The law was obviously targeted at things the LDS church(and other mainstream Christian groups) are against. It was funny to see it playout because they are getting a taste of their own hypocrisy, but not surprising that they are again pivoting because it backfired. Utah is prob the closest thing to a theocracy in this country so it's fun when it gets called out. 😊

Ive done alot of research this week on Submersibles. The OceanGate submersible is a risky-ass design that wanted to use *carbon fibre* instead of highly recommended *syntactic foam* titanium composite. You can see a proper sub by looking up DSV Limiting Factor. That baby is a BEAST. As an engineer, it's shitty to see that they were so confident in an unproven design.
And the fact that the millionaire took his 19 YEAR OLD SON with him! 😞 That is heartbreaking to me. I would never risk one of my children's lives for a "cool experience".
I remember hearing about that parent submitting their complaint about the Bible, I'm so happy they got results! Let's see how the other side feels when they have to abide by their own stupid self imposed rules--rules that only their precious Bible was really breaking, compared to coming of age novels and important classic tales
As a Texan working outside on a regular basis, Abbott getting rid of mandatory water breaks right now is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard him do. Right now it is consistently 90+° outside every day. Yesterday it was so hot that you could sit outside for maybe two minutes, literally do nothing, and start sweating profusely because that's how hot it is right now. I've drank six bottles of water in a day at least, and not had to go to the bathroom, because it all sweated out before I needed to get rid of it. And with other workers being outside all day in those conditions, that's when you choose to get rid of water breaks. It's like you're trying to kill people, honestly.
I’m looking at the forecast for Waxahachie, Texas and it’s insane. Nearly 40c?? For next week? You need water breaks. That’s not negotiable. People’s lives are on the line. I wish I could help in someway but I’m up in northern Canada. Hopefully the people won’t stand for this injustice
I figured there'd be a dose of negligence in the Titanic submersible story. I'm hoping those people survive, if they do, Stockton Rush probably needs the book thrown at him.
What would you like to bet he finds "an underling" to throw under the bus??? AND in his stead (in case he doesn't make it back alive)... the REST of the company finds someone "small" to sacrifice for their clear neglect and retaliation on complaints and whistleblower activities??? ;o)

So can every banned book cite the precedent of the Bible being taken off of being banned due to significant content. This would mean that they actually need to read the books instead of just looking at a few words! 😮 Maybe this is the answer we didn't know we needed! Lol
No because it's vague and it means nothing, but in practice it means "we're gonna ban the books we don't like and keep the books we like". The Bible being re-instated is just a reinforcement of, the rules for thee but not for me... They will make bullshit excuses to ban everything LGBTQ, and they will make bullshit excuses not to ban the rest.
As a Texan that has worked multiple jobs involving outdoor physical labor… that law is EVIL. If a company CAN get away with taking away water breaks they will do it. Hell, a lot of them were probably already doing it. The heat this year has been no joke, so the timing couldn’t be worse. In Texas we’ve seen 110° weather before… but in mid-June??? That’s a new one, usually don’t see anything that high til late July/early August. I can’t imagine not being able to take a break in that kind of heat. Even on the toughest days I’ve had, we always made sure to get in the trucks and cool down for 5-10 minutes at least once or twice… I’m not in the field anymore, but Godspeed to those that are.
I saw an interview with a representative for the sub company where they specifically called out and denied allegations that they were "MacGyver-ing subs". Hearing that the company's former director of marine operations was fired after trying to implement (costly) procedures to test their subs for safety validates that the representative's decision to use the term ""MacGyver-ing" was no accident. That seems like exactly what they were doing, and they knew it.
Two things, about the Bible ban: First, a perfect example of "I never thought the leopards would eat _my_ face!" if ever there was one. And secondly, *_of course_* they would rush to create a double standard to exclude their favorite piece of fiction from the law they created.

As an archaeologist who’s been working outside in Texas heat for almost 3 years, I feel lucky to work at a company that would never restrict us from water breaks. But I feel for the construction workers who will be affected by this. This is so brutal and cruel. Here’s hoping OSHA can get something in writing soon that would cover everyone’s safety when it comes to heat. 🙏🏼🤞🏼

''the bible has serious values for minors, which outweighs the violent or vulgar content it contains'' so that means someone could write a book that is full of sexual abuse, and rape scenes, and child grooming, and violent bloody deaths, but as long as it has some good life lessons sprinkled throughout then its okay for kids? They're just pissed that their unequal law got used on them. so when they say they need to ''make sure standards are applied properly'' they mean to make sure that books arent banned that fit _their_ agendas.
I know a couple books just like that. They’re German books called “Max und Moritz” and “Der Struwwelpeter” They’re children’s books full of life lessons but in each story someone dies. My parents read that to me when I was a child. One of the stories is about a child that keeps refusing to eat his soup. So he ends up dying of starvation. This story is supposed to demonstrate the disastrous consequences of miss behavior. The book “Struwwelpeter” was written by a German psychiatrist. In the USA you could even argue these books are educational in terms of language.
Man, that water break thing pisses me off. Is 100 degrees Fahrenheit next week, and these guys are going to be told "We gotta get this shit done, don't waste time drinking water!" and everyone will get bullied into dying because it's easier for companies to keep you stuck on a roof or out in the dirt for 10 hours.
I think there needs to be laws and safety guidelines because Texas will overlook the safety and well-being of the workers for the extra dollar. My family in Texas said it was already 110°F where they are. People are gonna get hurt if there isn't anything in place.
when it came to the Titanic disaster I think White Star Line was sued, and there were TONS of new safety regulations put in place because of the disaster. I'm thinking the same will happen here-we'll see loads of new regulations put in place, and a hell of a lawsuit.

Banging of the sort that's being described is not an uncommon sound in the ocean - metal clanking against metal, normal debris carried by currents, rocks falling onto any number of hard surfaces. I think this is why the Coast Guard and rescuers have been quick to point out that the banging sound hasn't led them to any conclusive answers - no doubt they want to avoid false hope. I think what catches the attention of rescuers is regular, timed knocking of a sort that nature cannot replicate. Granted, if that *was* the type of banging they heard and there were no subs or people within reasonable distance of the sound's point of origin... yeah, yeah, we could probably be frightened of that. XD
Could the half our banging be a grandfather clock below deck in any of the many ships flocking to the area, or the noise of a search vessel changing direction every 30 minutes while doing some search pattern?

Phil, I too am disgusted by anyone claiming to be a psychic. An unexpected kick in the teeth, after my father died, was my cousin and my mom gifting me tickets to see a pychic with them on my next birthday. I went to one of these mass griftings with them before, after my aunt (my cousin's mom,) passed, because I knew they both believe in this stuff, and it would help bring them peace. When it came to a second one, after losing Dad, I just couldn't stomach it. I knew what they were trying to do for me, but I also knew I would've had my dad's support when I politely refused to go. It's literally just a few hundred people, sitting in folding chairs in a hotel event room, while some lady walks around with her drive-thru mic, saying "I'm hearing from a Bob...I'm hearing from a Mary...A Judith...Jason..." etc., while people gasp, because they know a dead person by that name. Then she'd find two or three people in the audience to have a deeper "reading" with, most likely because they gave away a lot on social media, or said something she could use to the people collecting tickets at the door, who would report back to her. Every single person in that room paid like 100 bucks, hoping to be one of those three people she talks to. Anyway, they went without me. They found some other believer in the friend group that was interested in going. I stayed back at the house and watched the Red Sox game with everyone else in the fam that agreed it was stupid, but didn't want to destroy the comfort they knew it brought to the people that wanted to believe.
As I’m watching this video, the heat index is 111 in my part of Texas. Last night at midnight the heat index was 98. Heat stroke and dehydration happens fast and workers should not have to work like this.

I live in TX and was in in my HS and college marching band during that time. We where out in the sun in the morning in August. Which is one of hottest months in the summer. Usually during the 1st week of band camp a few amount of students would pass out or have to stop due to heat exhaustion. It did matter what grade you were in either including if their diet was good or bad and they spent the summer mostly inside or not. If people who work mostly outside need that water break! It means less work related accidents and workers getting sick or injured.
I used to walk to work in the Texas heat (3 miles), work outside all day and then walk back home (or catch a ride with a coworker). I was fine without "water breaks," just kept a water bladder pack on me and drank from it as needed. When I got my regular breaks (one every 3ish hours) I'd refill my water bladder and be good to go. I understand that not everyone is me, but unless you are suffering from heatstroke or dehydration and you are in decent shape/health you shouldn't need a dedicated break to sit down and have some water.
The fact that you can be sued for whistleblowing to a government agency designed for that exact purpose is fucking insane

Everyone should learn more about these systems and why they became this way- corruption. The root of all this evil is the corruption and if we do more about that everything else will get better.
Would love to get some surveys from Utah asking people how they cope with the hypocrisy of their religious standards
As an archaeologist who’s been working outside in Texas heat for almost 3 years, I feel lucky to work at a company that would never restrict us from water breaks. But I feel for the construction workers who will be affected by this. This is so brutal and cruel. Archaeologists often work near construction sites and we often wish for the protection and union coverage that construction workers have. Here’s hoping OSHA can get something in writing soon that would cover everyone’s safety when it comes to heat. 🙏🏼🤞🏼
The bible book ban made me laugh so hard. Oh, the irony of the backlash. 🤣
tragic that the titanic story could have been prevented, imagine how horrifying it must be to be in their situation, tragic.
Yeah, shame, I really liked Leonardo. RIP.
I wanna be a fly on that wall
If it was a hull issue (all indications point towards that), then they would have died instantly. Might not be as peaceful as going off in your sleep, but yeah... They wouldn't have felt the pain with pressure of 1000ft deep(13,000 feet was the estimated maximum depth).
its full of rich people. imagine the horrifying things they did to poor people to get all that money.
I couldnt care less some rich fcks are trapped. They have blood on there hands through greed, what goes around comes around too fcking bad.
I am never going to support Kick. Look, I've been watching twitch almost since it started. I'm totally willing to drop it but there is no chance that I will EVER even go to the kick website. Because what you said is right, it's where Aiden Ross goes to platform nazis. And this isn't just one dude who happens to be there "free speech" and all that. Aiden Ross is their face. Not only that, but it's funded by online casinos. Never gonna go there. I'd rather stop watching streams completely than go to Kick.
''the bible has serious values for minors, which outweighs the violent or vulgar content it contains''
so that means someone could write a book that is full of sexual abuse, and rape scenes, and child grooming, and violent bloody deaths, but as long as it has some good life lessons sprinkled throughout then its okay for kids?
They're just pissed that their unequal law got used on them. so when they say they need to ''make sure standards are applied properly'' they mean to make sure that books arent banned that fit _their_ agendas.
I know a couple books just like that. They’re German books called “Max und Moritz” and “Der Struwwelpeter”
They’re children’s books full of life lessons but in each story someone dies.
The parallels between the submarine and the literal Titanic are crazy.
It's what happens when people get overly confident, so not very surprising, unfortunately
I'm most shocked that it's taken this long to see a comment to this effect, because it was my first thought when I heard about it
I hope oceangate gets sued for this, this all could have been avoided if they listened
Of course they will, you think the families of those ultra rich passengers won’t do it?
when it came to the Titanic disaster I think White Star Line was sued, and there were TONS of new safety regulations put in place because of the disaster. I'm thinking the same will happen here-we'll see loads of new regulations put in place, and a hell of a lawsuit.
How are they gonna sue...the CEO of Oceangate is on that submersible lol
@TheMistressMisery the CEO isn't the company. Companies aren't people they are institutions thar only seek to acquire money
They gonna file bankruptcy for sure
Imagine paying a quarter million for a burial at sea.
Burial alive at sea… 😢
w/ 4 other people in the same container. I mean you are kind of paying for a burial as close to the Titanic as you can.
A psychic told me to come back to the Phillip DeFranco show and see the news here cuz the rest of the news world is spiritually impure. I'm so glad i have Ms Petrovashkasky. (She also said you're cute)
Just vile, Greg Abbott should be out into a comically large microwave for what he did. You don’t remove mandatory water breaks unless you are simply evil and can only get hard to the idea of others suffering.
As somebody who has worked summers with crews in ag fields, Greg Abbott is evil. Ag workers are already pushed too hard. This will absolutely lead to exploitation and death.
Lmao... I worked construction... people are standing around all the time bro. And they have water bottles with them
One of those creepy prawn bots stole your comment so boosting it. He really is the devil.
@@brian8507 people weren’t standing around during harvest season. We got water breaks and I literally had to help a worker get to an air conditioned car to stop them from having a heat stroke. I can’t speak to construction. I’m just speaking from experiences I’ve had
@pooscooper ok well sounds like they are hiring illegals.... and pushing them cause they can't complain lol. Maybe get a construction job bro
@@brian8507agriculture is an entirely different job than construction. You do realise that. Just because both work outside doesn’t mean the parameters are the same at all 🤦♀️
The power of the wealthy who don't want regulations.... this titanic sub is a reminder why regulation matters.
😢 Thats horrifying. I feel so bad for that 18 year old.
You are right. This is like the ironic end of a horror or dystopian story about the rich normalizing rolling back regulations and shrinking regulating bodies then dying slowly and painfully in an accident consequent of those rollbacks.
The amount of trauma he'll have from this if he survives. He's gonna have PTSD for the rest of his life.
If you don't know apparently one client brought their son.
Kinda sad how you guys stopped posting the links to news stories in the video description

It'd be nice if they used that aggregator site that lets you compare different biases/ political tilts for the same news topic

The scarier thing is that if they find it imploded long ago, then the question is... what was that banging at the bottom of the ocean 😳
@@blackpajamas6600 If you find that to be frightening, you might like this wikipedia page.

I'm sure senior citizen Abbot can definitely work outside in the Texas heat without regular water breaks
Been watching you for years now and beyond just being a great source of news it is inspiring to see your growth as a human being on top of your fitness journey, keep up the good work! I'm proud of you buddy!!!
Being trapped in a submarine, ever since I heard about this sounds like the scariest way to go out. My prayers to those and hope they can be found 😞
If it imploded then there wouldn't have been time to be afraid. If they're sitting at the bottom of the ocean freezing to death then...yup, totally agree with you.
@@johnedward8352apparently theyve been jearing banging roughly every 30 minutes idk if thats still happening the ladt coulle days or not
Phil, I too am disgusted by anyone claiming to be a psychic.
I thought I was hearing this wrong with my morning coffee. Imma go watch part 1 and I'll be right back in a bit.
Important story to talk about. In Barrie Ontario they past a law that if you give food or weather to the homeless you will get fined $5,000 -$10,000
That bible story is hilarious lol
Just in case anyone thought banning books had anything to do with "protecting children" instead of just indoctrination.
Yeah kids need to read smut so maps can gain a proper foothold
Indoctrination...kinda like telling children that their gender is imaginary in order to please less than 1% of the people in the US that identify as such ?!
@@deadboltzz5199 There is quite a lot of that in the Bible lol.
@@deadboltzz5199 ah yes, because we all know schools were stocking smut in their libraries before the bans were in place

Can we get all companies in trouble for faking hand written letters? I see this from cable companies even. Its gross.
I think people in Texas should just wheel Abbott outside, chain his wheelchair down, and leave him under the sun for a whole day while denying him any water and then ask him if he still thinks it's such a good idea to take away worker's water breaks....
Yeah. At what point do we start making them experience the laws they make for others??
@@comicsans3537 Lol you guys are massively overreacting. Outdoor construction workers are employees of subcontractors. They have their own bosses, scheduling, and safety protocols per private businesses. The gubberment isn't going to keep them alive, NOR kill them, thanks to 'a law.' It's hot AF outside, those dudes are going to crack a poweraid and stand in the shade until they're ready to work again. Go spend a summer landscaping, building homes, or pouring concrete. You'll see what I mean.
He won't say anything.
He will be dead.
Sometimes that is the only way to get them to have empathy…. Sadly when you get that evil you need someone to break you more to even want to evolve. This is all the evolution of slavery and he feels like a master…sad
@@G82Jesse I mean you're not wrong. But that doesn't apply to every field. Agriculture workers have to work their asses off in the heat.
I can understand your anger towards "psychics" because of a story you covered a long time ago. I don't remember everything, but the specifics was that some girls that were kidnapped many years ago had been rescued. But one of the victim's mothers had died long before that rescue after the mother was told by a "psychic" that her daughter was definitely dead.
Thank you for making it right, I know I called you out last week for gate keeping but you made it right soo good job philly
Willingly going to submarine to investigate the ruins of Titanic is like asking for death sentence
Nope, but also less important than most things.
Okay 3:28 3:28
@@trammietrapgorilla5011 hey your boss needs you to go make money for him, spaz
Dude that's like saying getting into a metal tube and flying thousands of feet above the ground to get to another country is asking for a death sentence. Or getting in your car to drive to the store is like asking for death sentence.
@slip6hazard9 it's really not at all comparable. Just look at normal private submarine totals compared to the amount of private plans that fly daily. You'll notice there's very little private subs lol
Can't wait until Phil finally decides to do half hour shows.
I would love this!!!! Uncut 30-45 min shows/podcasts for when I’m commuting or working … and a condensed 10-12 min short version for people that don’t have time…. And then the 30 second reels for those with even shorter attention span. Options! We need options! Lol
This is just incredible. It's history repeating itself. The captain of the RMS Titanic ignored iceberg warnings. Ismay overruled Thomas Andrews' plea for more lifeboats in favor of a better view.
Hundreds died because of their hubris. And now, because of the CEO of OceanGate's hubris, 5 more including himself, are dead and lost in the very same waters, that surround the _RMS Titanic._ The same type of people have the same type of attitude, over a century later. We never learn.
He gets added to the short list of inventors who were killed by their own inventions.
Oh no, plenty of us learn. Its just the exploiters, the violence doers, the rich, that forget the lessons of history.
@@stevehansen4112 I dunno about that, because plenty of the average folk seem to repeat stupid mistakes too.
its crazy that the closest thing twitch has to competition is kick offering 100 million to twitch content creator to stream on kick if they feel like it, promising 16 dollars an hour for small stramers regardless if they ony have one constant viewer, and basically say that they will purposelly remove any content guideline that twitch has.
I think the Twitch vs Kick situation is (pardon the pun) it’s giving Twitch a good kick to do better, treat their viewers and streamer better. Im enjoying watching the show, hopefully Twitch will learn from this.
It's insane that in the richest country on the planet....we are debating... giving workers water breaks. Its insane how we are used to so many people being exploited in search of profits
Imagine being the people that said you dont deserve water.
Kick kind of reminds me of Mixer who were putting out big money for big names before folding. It could sustain but it could also flash and burnout.
You can just drink as you go.
the irony of the internet fighting about streamers that make millions, while workers cannot have breaks to drink water
yup. its honestly silly
Makes grown onions cry
I live in Texas and the water break ban doesnt make much sense... we are dumb most of the time 😥
Back when I worked on the radio, we used to have a game that we would play with listeners. We would read absolutely BIZARRE news stories and listeners would call in and guess if the article was about Florida or Germany. These days? It'd be reading news stories about insane violations of human rights and the choices would be Florida or Texas. 😐
That's weird I swear I saw the Kick story elsewhere and I thought it said that though they were backed by betting companies but didn't have gambling on streams. Huh thanks for the clarification.
So funny how Poki says she doesn't want a kick deal, and haters go "wow, she wants a kick deal so bad." People are so weird.

Having the Bible be banned is so top notch irony that you can't help but love it. And it's also the BIGGEST CASE of hypocrisy you can ever see like literally wtf. Not even trying to pretend lmao
Also why are there religious texts in public schools anyway? Separation of church and state is... supposed to be a thing lol
Yeah my old school had a Koran. Disgusting book for savage people
Not from the US, but in the Netherlands, catholic/christian/Muslim schools all exist and it never really occurred to me how fucked that is until I was an adult
I'm glad I spend my most formative years in a non religious school, cause my mother hated religion (before making a 180 and joining a cult light during my teen years, the usual lol)
Set enough of a standard to view the religious mumblings in my christian high school for the poorly written fiction it is
they can have the bible in the libraries it doesn't go against separation. Teaching the bible would which is why Utah often has Campus adjacent seminary buildings. Also the bible ban was already reversed earlier today.
Facts man. My whole family is the JW cult and literally cannot leave without being ostracized etc etc. A lot of the western religions have been an absolute plague on humanity. So glad I was never sucked into that stuff
I think open hypocrisy has to be the pinnacle of privilege. Really rather than trying to censor all the books I think it's important to be able to read about other outlooks, cultures, and their religions if someone wants to read about them. Hell, add the Tora and Curran but don't hold books you don't like to a standard you don't plan on following yourself.
