Also, the criticism of Southgate is valid. It is still unclear what Southgate is doing. The reason England is in a final is because they haven't played France, Portugal or Germany in this tournament. I am a supporter of England but the truth of this Euro tournament is Spain have been the most outstanding team and England the least outstanding team. England also had an easy grouping. Imagine if we had had to play Spain, Italy, Germany or France in the early stages. We would have been home ages ago. It will take a miracle for us to be bringing home the trophy. Great content. I've gotta say, though. You're all missing a major thing about Southgate being reactionary. The reason we LOST the final against Italy was that Southgate was NOT reactive with subs, and so Mancini checkmated him with a flexible two-position two-system-changing substitution. When Southgate is proactive, he gets found out. The only issue, which it would be great if you could discuss next time, is how fast Southgate needs to be when he is reacting. Currently, he is too slow for me. I put that down to tactical ability, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

England got lucky last night. The penalty decision was the turning point of the game and it was the one of the most disgraceful refereeing decisions I've ever seen. As for the final, I can't see Spain out-possessing England when it comes to retaining the ball. It will be a competitive game but I think Spain will edge this one.

You can't show your studs in any tackle! Especially the defender when trying to defend! He has to bring his body to the shot and not raise his studs. He raised his leg and foot against Kane because he knew he wasn't close enough to properly engage him!

Kobbie was quality from his first start at United. He is so efficient, calm, able to control any kind of ball that comes at him and now he's even running at defenders with the ball. This boy is going all the way based on his current progress. I genuinely see him in a couple of years at Kroos level.

The talent in this England squad is so good that it’s almost impossible to screw up. Southgate has been bailed out multiple times by individual brilliance. He’s not the worst manager ever like some people used to call him but saying he’s a genius now would be crazy considering most players on England’s bench would start for 90% of teams in the world. On a pure talent perspective, England are better than Spain but I believe the final will be decided by managerial insight.

@@Rob-cy8xc Its hard when the team your playing against plays the best football, dominates their games for majority of the 90, can beat you in multiple ways whether it's passing through you or transition football, has one of the best defences while also having the best attack and midfield, they've knocked out the big names and favorites as well so it's hard for a neutral to really think you guys have more than a 10% chance. What will also hurt you guys is that you tend to concede first and spain always start the first 20-30 min strong so if your defence dosen't show up the game could end in the first half.

It's not a fluke we missed them it's because we win our group. That said I think there's are strong argument that the Swiss and the Dutch were better this summer than Portugal, France, Italy and Croatia.

Mainoo is no where near ruiz whos been one of the best midfielders this tournament which just tells me you only watch the premier league. Your looking at indivual players when you should be looking at the areas of the pitch instead. Both teams have a similarly equal defence, Spain have a superior midfield and attack which are evident in the stats and just on the eye test.
