i did a Scorpion vs. Sub-Zero rap thing for a dumb song i made, and was able to i'd say 95% replicate Ed's Scorpion voice. one of the greatest achievements of my life. (had no idea til i heard my own voice outside of my head)

You never forget your third 1st time.
Just saw the complete cutscenes in this game, first off, it's gorgeous, and the story turns and usage of characters were something I was never expecting. It explains a lot, but also some things are just... there, but it won't bother someone, unless they're a MASSIVE fan of that one thing lol
It got me invested but I loathed the twist of who the big bad was...It destroyed any stakes and investments I could have In this new time line.
Don’t forget the post credits scene where they set up the next villain along with one of the endings setting up Onaga

My favorite thing with mk story modes is when a regular friendly scuffle like the first fight in this has them exploding each other's organs and smashing their bones. Jax vs Johnny Cage in 9 is the best.
I would really like for you to continue the story mode at some point.

Human form reptile looks like he's one of the hotties from DMC, and that game was already oozing with sex appeal. He took not just a single slice, but the whole DMC sexy cake and ate it up.
For real, at first I thought Reptile and Nero shared face models! Though, admittedly, I am very bad at face recognition... xP

@@danielglooover No need to troll. Once every youtuber has spoiled the story mode and people have had time to try the mechanics, this game will either redeem MK or experience a massive player exodus a few months down the line (like all the modern NRS games).
Their writing and handling of the characters has gotten a lot worse in a lot of respects though.

I haven't cared for Mortal Kombat in the past, but this story mode's so fun I went through this whole thing in a sitting! Surprisingly pretty and well acted without giving up the cheese factor.
The same could not be said about Megan Fox.
I did enjoy aspects of this story, especially how characters are done, but i really wish we could get a mk story without time travel/alt timelines for once, it looks like its teased to have even more timeline stuff happen, but hoping its dlc story for this game.
My only realy gripe out of that is some segments seem to go on way too long, like the johnny cage movie

I don't play the Mortal Kombat games, but I never miss Matt's misadventures through their story mode.
The only thing I don't like about Fire God Liu Kang is that he doesn't consult with the Elder Gods every time someone blinks, like Raiden did.

god everyone had a glow up and I’m so happy with this (mostly) new take. I know you’re busy but it’s just really nice to see your impressions of the game so far, and I assume any further discussion of MK1 will be on triple KO (which I do look forward to hearing if it has its own dedicated episode or so).

Its nice Baraka and Reptile are getting some story love. They've always just been minion jobbers with cool looks and movesets. So to see them actually having motivations that we uncover during the story mode is actually really nice. Also nice that they aren't bad guys for once.

Having played through to and seen the end of the game, man I would LOVE to see how Matt takes to everything that happens in this game. It's a truly wild time and I hope he maybe gets around to doing so but if not, I completely get it! Stopped right before my girl Ashrah could make an appearance too!

This story mode is basically the MK version of Avengers Endgame - it's shares it's wins AND flaws, IMO. Tho I think it's kinda genius how they mixed Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon plots altogether

I know Matt said this wasn't going to be a full series and he's busy, but this story mode has a lot of interesting twists and turns that I would like to Matt lose his shit over.
Y'know what'd be a super cool twist? If it turned out that the Outrealm crew is super on the level, and it's actually Earthrealm that are the villains in this new era.
And the Earthrealm crew have a big "are we the baddies?" revelation where it turns out that Liu Kang is actually evil af.
That time Johnny Cage joined the fantastic four. The super hero costumes were a bit much (on Johnny in particular), but the story looks fantastic. Landlord Baraka seems cool too

It feels weird that Sindel has less elaborate costume stuff going on compared to her daughters, or even Li Mei, when she's the EMPRESS. Give her a cape or skirt or something.

He and ashrah were my favorites in story mode. To know that he's clapping those semi-demon cheeks, i have to applaud my boy 👏
I would love to see a second part of this story mode. Legit, this story mode is one of the better ones in a long time, in my opinion. I enjoy MK9, MKX and MK11, but not so much Aftermath. I feel like the writing was getting thin in each installment, especially in Aftermath. Here, it feels like a freah new start that just builds up with these crazy takes on the lore and ends with a fantastic climax. I lost my shit when I witnessed the climax, and I would love to see Matt's reaction considering how much of an MK nerd he is.
