I'm like you, whenever I find someone singing this song, I listen. And this is the song that got me interested in and then besotted with this wonderful singer! To this day, he still enchants me! When you listen to his performances today, his English is much improved. There are sounds in English that do not exist in Portuguese and the th sound is one. The W sound is another. We also clip words at the end and in Brazil, ending sounds can slide away! There is only so much one can learn from listening but he recently took an English class, so, Go listen to his rooftop performances and you'll hear his progress!!
