Howdy! new to your community, and thanks for the great video. One thing I think you may want to clarify in a future video: Trader Workstation's hotkeys framework separates hotkeys into groups, specific to certain windows. In your video, you're setting up ChartTrader hotkeys...but you could set up hotkeys with the same functions and conditions in for instance the BookTrader hotkey group, and even use the same keys on the keyboard. I mention it because of Trader Workstation's peculiarities (and users' usual confusion about) which windows *without* specific hotkey groups need to have keys set up in the *general* hotkey group to work. So in your example, your ChartTrader hotkeys need to be set up again in the general hotkeys group if the user wants them to work when the Portfolio window is active and not a chart. Thanks again and keep up the great work!
@@carlosm328 You got it! We should all get together en masse and demand they add copy and paste for hotkeys, as well as a "duplicate" button to the hotkeys setup window, like they have added to the buttons setup window for Booktrader and Charttrader. It would save a LOT of redundant and repetitive work!!
That was great and very timely as I was/am reviewing my current IB setup today an dtomorrow. Thanks and keep 'em coming i.e., more screens, intermediate and expert setups etc..
I use TWS. If I bought shares of say TSLA over the last few weeks it provides an avg cost across all these shares. However it does not show avg cost per each lot of shares you bought like E Trade. You have to build a report for this info. I don't know if there is a workaround so you can sell the lots that are in the money and keep those that require more time for the price to increase to make money.
Hello Carlos. What do you think about Lightspeed? I'm trying to move from TDA to either Lightspeed or Interactive Broker. How do you compare them and is it possible to make a video on Lightspeed too? A couple of questions: -Is there a way in IB to see the price range per candle(e. g. by hovering mouse over a candle)? -Dose marketable-limit order add or take liquidity? Thank you👍 Great informative video.
Hi Carlos... thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. Just a constructive opinion..... The display is set with a very low resolution, therefore, It is very hard for a beginner to read and identify most of the writing, numbers and titles as they become very blurry when you do a full screen. Basically is about the video resolution very low. But thank you for your work.
Thank you so much. That save me a bunch of time. Shame they can't integrate trading view [with all the features] , like the some of the crypto exchanges do
Great video! Have you stopped using DAS? Do you get the same depth of orders on L2 and ARCA orders? What’s the biggest difference between DAS and this other than the monthly cost? Thanks!
Hey @HalfFinger Hope all is well! I am still using DAS for Day Trading and not planning on switching but TWS is an amazing platform as well. You can get the same DATA we have on DAS on TWS you just have to sign up for whatever package data you want to see. Including ARCA order on Level 2. There are other differences between each platform and maybe I can make a video on it in the future. I prefer the DAS platform over TWS because of the simple the simple interface and configurations on DAS. As far as performance they are neck to neck really . TWS has done many great upgrades in the last few years you can really use either one. I recommend traders try both and see which one they prefer for Day Trading. Cannot go wrong with either one.
There are some slight differences but they should not be major as the VWAP depends will say on the configuration you set. I know as a default TWS will give you 3 lines when setting it up that will include the lower range and the high range. You can get hide the low and high range lines by right click on the VWAP study and deselecting the lower an higher trend lines and it should be really close if not the same as the TradingTerminal simulator. Let me know if you have any question on this.
Tried TWS, it's like driving a truck... so certainly fine for swing trading, but for day trading, DAS Trader is way faster, more flexible and user-friendly

TWS from IB is a very powerful and flexible platform with a lot of features, but it has a steep learning curve. DAS Trader Pro, on the other hand, is user-friendly and preferred by many day traders for its speed and efficiency.
Thanks for the great video! I have a question about TWS indicators and oscillators. It seems that some of them are missing key features, like the horizontal lines at 30% and 70% for RSI and many other indicators. Is there a way to automatically add such lines like 0 (zero), 30% - 70% lines globally whereever neccessarty, so I don't have to manually draw them for each stock or symbol? Manually doing this is really exhausting, and I've received some unhelpful responses from IBKR on this issue.
Thank you Carlos. Need your guidance - I was trying to configure a Preset in TWS for "Adjustable Stop" in a Scenario where I bought the stock @100 and in case it hits 4% profit it triggers a Trailing limit for Sell with a Trailing 5%. Some how I am getting the error of "Invalid Trigger Price" and I have tried multiple information in the fields. Do you have an existing video explaining Preset for %'s or can you help in comment section
Carlos, gracias por los vídeos. Recomiendas usar el Level 2 de ellos y la plataforma para trading. Estoy leyendo otros comentarios que son algo lentos para ejecutar órdenes de 500 o mas shares.
Yes we will do one for DAS as well. We have some already on the channel from years ago but we can do a new video and include more advance tips for setup. Here is the one we have now. ruclips.net/video/u2J_q7U61-A/видео.html
How does the Level 2 Data feed compare to DAS? I currently use TOS and am aware of it's short comings. FYI - The Level 2 is not configurable and the data given does not even close to the bid/ask data that moderators in chat room mention when I am trading the same company.
The level 2 is very comparable to the one in DAS. And great thing is configurable so that is a plus compare to TOS. TOS is a great platform but for DAY trading TWS I find is much better. I personally use DAS but between TOS and TWS I would pick TWS for day trading. Depends on your style of trading as well. I still have TOS account also for swing trading and learn term holds.
Does this platform let you plot out historical options prices? For example, if I want SPY 400 Call expiring this week. Can I see prices from Monday - Friday?
I'm currently using my paper account. My level 2 bid asks is empty, and i can only search for 4 different tickers. DO i need to subscribe to a data feed first? I'm confused what to do next.
HI Billy you can add studies to TWS like the 9 EMA and 20 EMA also VWAP with this below. I will include this in a follow up video with more advance features as well. "if you right click on the chart, you can select "Add Study" then "All Studies" once there just search VWAP and The Intraday VWAP. Click Apply and you are all set. You can do this for other studies as well like the 9 EMA and 20 ema as well." Let me know if you have any questions on setting this up.
is it possible to have 3 tabs in the same Group? I have 3 tabs, when I click on a ticker on Tab 1, only the windows in Tab 1 will change to the ticker. However, Tab 2 and Tab 3 does not follow the same ticker. They are all in the same group but it does not work. Any idea why please?
I would not be surprised if Tesla next battery plant make a different size and chemistry pack . They could go a 67mm x 170 mm which would give them about 4 times the energy per battery . The production rate could be almost the same so you get about 4 times the energy per day produced . Change the chemistry to some of the newer types which can charge to 100 % and the whole thing works better . The batteries become cheaper , the usable day to day range become better and you may be able to add 20% more battery size . Lifespan of the batteries due to degradation is less off a problem due to charging less . The Truck will actually last about 2 years longer so it becomes even cheaper to operate , that would please the accountants . Resale value would also be higher .
i love the setup. do you or anyone within the community have experience using adjustable stops. im having an issues adjusting my hard stop into a trailing stop after im in profit 10%. if anyone knows how to problem solve this issue id appreciate it.
yes, i currently have a adjustable stop loss that gives me a -10% hard stop and a take profit of 30%. id like that stop loss to change to a trailing stop once my profits are 10% and above. im looking to change my hard stop into a trailing stop.@@BearBullTraders
Hi Carlos. I am having trouble getting the TWS window to span across multiple monitors (using a Mac). Can you offer some insight into how to accomplish this?
Yes I do! It is a broker, and it actually is good for more than stocks trading, you can trade forex, futures, options, etc.. Check bearbulltraders.com/IBKR
The buying power is displayed in your account tab, you can also add it to open positions, or some other column, you have to right click on the window where you have your P&L for example, and play with the data that you can see, or want to remove
I find this platforms looks really small font wise on desktop even when you adjust the fonts . My desktop is on 55" sumsang TV . Not sure if anyone else has those issues and or how to adjust
Does anyone knows how I can screen for option spreads on TWS scanner? My purpose is to narrow down the list to Spreads of $0.05 but so far I have no luck adding this filter on my screener.
@@BearBullTraders I mean I would like to draw trendline on the chart and I knew that for the ThinkOrSwim platform in TDAmeritrade, when I drew lines, it has this "snapping" effect which makes drawing trendline much easier and more accurate. I wonder does TWS has this similar feature.
I am extremely confused and would so much appreciate if you could help me clear up my confusion. My broker is Interactive Brokers and they say that you have to pay for real-time market data but when I go to the "order screen" where you can see the price, it says real-time directly underneath the price even though I am not paying for it. So is real-time market data with Interactive Brokers free after all??? If so, does Interactive Brokers always show you the real time price in the "order screen" by default? If so, then what are people everywhere referring to when they say that real-time data costs money? Lastly, I am only interested in buying US stocks listed on the NYSE/NASDAQ but Interactive Brokers has a long confusing menu list for real-time data where you pay per item. What are the specific names on the real-time data menu I would NEED if I only want real-time data for only stocks listed on the NYSE/Nasdaq? Please help me clear up my confusion. Thank you so much! Jennifer
Real Time data for things like charting is free. Some other important real time data you need like Level2 you’d have to pay for. The data’s that aren’t free will usually show like a ‘subscribe’ button in that window if you’re on TWS.
@ninjaxkai is right. Please see this BBT Forum post where market data for IBKR is explained: forums.bearbulltraders.com/topic/1144-interactive-broker-tws-setups-hotkeys-and-subscriptions/
PDT rules don't apply to futures trading, but futures have their own set of rules; they are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Futures contracts use leverage, which means they're traded in margin accounts that require special privileges. Leverage can amplify your gains-and your losses.
Hey Gurjinder, great question, if you right click on the chart, you can select "Add Study" then "All Studies" once there just search VWAP and The Intraday VWAP. Click Apply and you are all set. You can do this for other studies as well like the 9 EMA and 20 ema as well.
Yes it's possible to do so, but you need a broker that will give you the needed tools to do so, meaning, a broker that will offer you the tools to set an automated process to trade. This process is commonly known as "rolling" or "rolling forward" an option position.
So far nothing compares to ToS. I mean it’s 2024 and nothing can change the color of pre post market hours on the chart and even the new Advanced chart clone of Trading View is absolute garbage. I mean every time you open the platform the chart looks different and defaults back to a saved one. I can’t believe how bad TWS is still. And I even upped the memory usage to 4096 MB and this crap platform still chokes with a detached 3x6 grid chart and everything is so slow. I mean I press a ticker in my watchlist and it takes 2-3 seconds sometimes to update the chart.
It’s instant in Tos. I wish TD/Schwab had Direct access I would pay commission. Even Das with TD sucks for me, I don’t want to type a ticker twice Tos and Das. So yea the options are small unless you pay big bucks for Sterling. Anyway I get it you Canucks have limited options..
You can save the template you want after you arrange and set all the settings the way you want the charts to be displayed. After that when you open the TWS again, it will be exactly the same. But the TWS is really not user friendly by today's standard and slow. Most probably the code they use to code the program is causing that.
do i need to download something to use interactive traders? Ive set up an account and cant find what you are showing in vid. exactly how did you get to the trading screen, click by click.
@@BearBullTraders I tried IBKR today and dont like it as much as the webull. Paper trading executes immediately. I suspect this is because volume is not an issue when fake trading stocks. Introduce volume needs and suddenly trades dont happen even though the price closes at what i wanted to sell at. I want to better understand the mechanics of the trading system. For example: should i be looking to only day trade stocks with high volume. How do I find high volume stocks. When news comes out about a stock, that affects its volume because ppl start buying a lot.

I wonder does TWS has this similar feature.
excellent video.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks a lot
You are welcome!
can you make a video on trades using option chain?
yes excellent idea.
i also apprciate if u can subscirbe to our channel!
What are the specific names on the real-time data menu I would NEED if I only want real-time data for only stocks listed on
the NYSE/Nasdaq?
Please help me clear up my confusion. Thank you so much!
Jennifer
Real Time data for things like charting is free. Some other important real time data you need like Level2 you’d have to pay for. The data’s that aren’t free will usually show like a ‘subscribe’ button in that window if you’re on TWS.
@ninjaxkai is right. Please see this BBT Forum post where market data for IBKR is explained: forums.bearbulltraders.com/topic/1144-interactive-broker-tws-setups-hotkeys-and-subscriptions/

Thank you!

Do I have to have $25k to trade futures?
PDT rules don't apply to futures trading, but futures have their own set of rules; they are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Futures contracts use leverage, which means they're traded in margin accounts that require special privileges. Leverage can amplify your gains-and your losses.
How do you add VWAP indicator in TWS?
ibkrguides.com/tws/usersguidebook/technicalanalytics/intradayvwap.htm
Hey Gurjinder, great question, if you right click on the chart, you can select "Add Study" then "All Studies" once there just search VWAP and The Intraday VWAP. Click Apply and you are all set. You can do this for other studies as well like the 9 EMA and 20 ema as well.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
How can i close position in this layout?
You just hit the sell button with all the shares you have using the montage, or use a sell all hotkey
Hi
Is it possible to automatically roll an option when price reaches a given level ?
Would love to hear from anyone.
Thanks
TW😊
Yes it's possible to do so, but you need a broker that will give you the needed tools to do so, meaning, a broker that will offer you the tools to set an automated process to trade. This process is commonly known as "rolling" or "rolling forward" an option position.
Do you trade forex at all?
No, we don´t.

Interesting, you're right, there's a lot to work on for TWS, but it's still good enough and has a lot of capabilities
You can save the template you want after you arrange and set all the settings the way you want the charts to be displayed.
After that when you open the TWS again, it will be exactly the same.
But the TWS is really not user friendly by today's standard and slow. Most probably the code they use to code the program is causing that.
he has level 2 trading

Can people buy real US stock? is it CFDs?
Yes. CFDs are Illegal in the U.S.
i like how my laptop barely fits half of this
LOL
do i need to download something to use interactive traders? Ive set up an account and cant find what you are showing in vid. exactly how did you get to the trading screen, click by click.
Trader Work Station, TWS, IBKRs trading platform.
Awesome video. Thank you very much!
Glad you liked it!
Does anyone knows how I can screen for option spreads on TWS scanner? My purpose is to narrow down the list to Spreads of $0.05 but so far I have no luck adding this filter on my screener.
Thanks for Watching!
