So a school teacher can be sent to prison for an indefinite length of time whilst a member of the defence forces can beat a woman senseless, boast about it and walk away with a smack on the wrist. Regardless of what Enoch Burke did, it’s nothing in comparison to what that other thug did. There’s something very wrong with how crime and punishment are regarded and treated!
First one breached a court order.
The second was released by court order.

Come September this will start again. He'll go back to the school and the school will be back to court and it will start all over again. Though hopefully the appeal over his dismal can be heard before that and the matter can be finalised.
The Burkes have become a political hot potato and have shown up the Woke left wing agenda for what it really is. Their confrontation with Simon Harrris and his entourage in Mayo turned up the heat on politicians and by default the flawed Irish Judicial System. A system which can put the innocent in prison for his beliefs while letting criminals walk the streets so they can reoffend. This Country stinks to high Heaven.
The school has only itself to blame for all this. They could have let him carry on teaching without having any contact with the student in question. By all accounts he was a competent teacher, and his views shouldn't have entered into it.
He was basically asked to use incorrect grammar by referring to an individual as "they". When Bambie Thug represented Ireland in Eurovision I thought at first that that was the name of a group, because the media kept referring to this person as "they". This is political correctness gone crazy. If I want to identify as a goat, and be referred to by the pronoun 'we', does that mean that the world has to pander to my wishes?

I don't think Enoch Burke could have appealed the judgment - the court didn't hear his side of the story in the first place so how could that judgment be seen being valid?

He wants his religious views to control the ethos of the school. He and his family are loving the attention they are getting and reaping the rewards of all the grifting. How much money do you imagine they have grifted from the Christian groups bankrolling them? Or are you nieve enough to have believed that this circus isn't fuelled by financial gains for the Burke's?
He shouldn't be in prison in the first place! Why should he or anyone be forced to accept something that goes against their beliefs? This could happen to anyone if we refuse to conform. Under no circumstances will I be 'conforming' to their agenda! We'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future. I support him 100% in his fight for his rights & our rights.

Yes I agree 💯. I will never subscribe to transgenderism because it goes against everything I believe in and for the woke do gooders, it also goes against the biology of that child's body. In years to come, that poor confused child at the school will feel thankful to Mr. Burke.
As Burke portrays himself as a God fearing bible man, he should not judge other people's beliefs or genders. As the saying goes, Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Enoch Burke should have never been imprisoned. The Court is supposed to listen to all the evidence but not once wanted to hear Enoch Burkes side of the story. The Judiciary should hang their heads in shame because they treated this man, this hero like crap. Stand tall Enoch Burke, the fact is you are right and they are wrong. The court did listen to Mr Burke. He took an action against the school in regard to his Dismissal and won. But the court advised him they could not issue an order against the school unless he complied with the order against him to stay away from the school. he chose to continue disregarding the order against him and ended up back in jail because of it.

He didn't win a case, he only secured an injunction. The female judge of course distanced herself from ruling for Mr. Burke and only granted the injunction due to Mr Burke raising "fair matters". So no, the Courts or crooked Judges don't listen to the Burkes. Tho they should, they might be able to repent for their sins.

He appealed the dismisssal through the Dept of Education Appeals Tribunal but decided to reject the Tribunal members on the way in .

Mr Burke has been treated outrageously by the School and by the High Court, He was Falsely accused of Criminal Trespass, Fined Put in Jail, then the High Court turning the Fines into Compensation, it then Ruled on Mr Burkes Dismissal as Lawful and his Grievance's irrelevant, without a Labour Relations Tribunal hearing, overruling Statute Law , The High Court seems to have exceeded it's Powers in this case, and not allowing his Grievances, pre-judged any Labour Relations Hearing that may take place. This is a clear case of the School using Malicious Prosecution of Mr Burke to cover up the fact that they did not follow correct procedure's and have used the District Criminal Court and the High Civil Court as a means to circumvent the consequence's and cause harm to Mr Burke.
Remember how the Hep C victims were treated by the Establishment for pursuing justice ?.. I remember...😕

Maybe he could appeal to the E.U. courts. I believe he is being punished for daring to challenge the legal system. You can almost hear the judges and court officials simmering with rage when he responds or questions the validity of the law in his situation.
I am not religious and religious zealots frighten me but I think Enoch and his family have sufferred under Irish law. No Teacher can be sacked as easily as Enoch was. His sister was abused by the coroner and a guard at the inquest into hospital deaths a couple of weeks ago. She politely asked the coroner a question and he spat rage at her while the guard manhandled her away saying she's no right to ask the coroner questions. I've seen identical situations on Chinese, Russian and North Korean media.
P.S. your comment is wonderful and hopeful. Enoch is the first teacher in Ireland to be sacked without any intervention through mediation and labour court hearings.

I am a gay man. As a child in primary school, I was regularly punished with a cane for being camp and effeminate, by two rough and ready Kerry men, one being my teacher, the other the school principal.

If we have to accept there are many genders without proof but on the word of the person making the assertion what’s to stop anyone from declaring they identify as someone who doesn’t recognise the imposition of proper grammar and that grammar can be fluid in the same way gender can be so pronouns can be arbitrary, meaning I reserve the right to address another person whichever way I want according to how I feel at any given time, surely my right to free speech would trump the other person’s rights ? Calling someone “ it” rather than “ they” wouldn’t be be unreasonable when all rules are taken off the table, it would be open season on language though which is really why we need to adhere to the tried and tested rules otherwise confusion reigns.

@mike_mcgb It's impossible to police pronouns as it is impossible for individuals or groups to police others into using they/them/it. It's custom, practice, cultural and centuries of common usage, with regional variations, that we speak and write in common simple language todate. Groups may succeed in changing grammer just as new words are introduced into our dictionaries with common usage and with no rules beforehand, unlike your suggestion that rules should be agreed on, to avoid confusion. This may or may not happen in time. But I wont be using 'they/them/it' as I find it cumbersome, tiring and presumptious of other's to demand I speak in a fashion pleasing to them. But with common usage, as all language/words evolves naturally, changes will happen but will not through groups/individuals demands.
P.S. My favouite part of your comment is 'your right to free speech trumps other person's right'. I echoed that saying no one can police language. Unless one is a language english teacher.

As a rtd teacher, 40+ yrs, I think school is no place for your own personal views or values, just like a tv newsreader. You must represent the values set by senior management otherwise chaos would reign. EB was wrong to apply his own beliefs in school. However sending him to prison is disgraceful and more like Russia than Ireland. A security team should have kept EB from trespassing after he was suspended/sacked.
The school has a church of Ireland ethos. It was the school that moved away from its core beliefs - not Burke.
Where are the parents and pupil protesting. Is this a Catholic Church.
