I’m so happy I found your channel.I have asked several artists if the would do a tutorial and sell it with the agreement I would not sell, I would never hear back.So thank you for sharing your art. Please don’t stop!
I love this tutorial so much! You’re a great teacher and your techniques are so helpful. I was wondering if you could do a dog tutorial in a laying down position. I’d be interested to see the way you position the legs. I am so thankful I found your channel. You have no idea how much it has helped me! 🙏🏼
Aw yay, thanks so much! 🥰 I’m so glad you found it helpful! Another person asked me about a laying down dog recently and I need to do a revamp of the dog video since I learned to edit videos, so that might have to be the one! It takes me a little while to edit videos so I’ll try to share some tips for a laying down dog for now: It’s the same concept for the torso just horizontal and then add a small oval to the front for the neck. Add the head on top of the neck similarly too. For the back legs, roll 2 balls about half the size of the head and slightly flatten them. Press those on either side of the back of the dog. Then roll two thick snakes to set at the base of those flattened circles, pressed up against the body, stopping probably about 1/3 of the way down the body. Then similarly for the front legs but the flattened balls being about half the size of the back ones. And the front legs sticking out. Then add a small bit of flattened clay to the chest and add or take away clay as needed. I hope that helps til I can make a video. Thanks so much again!☺️
Thanks for the simple and easy video! I was trying to create a dog out of polymer clay for a older loved one who has had several different dogs in her life. Thanks again!
10:40 귀 모양 12:50 입모양 Since I am not good at English, they explained it to me in an easy-to-understand way even though I was imitating it while looking at the shape of my hand, and I was able to make it beautifully when I made it for the first time. Thank you very much.
Hello! Thank you for posting this video. My girlfriend is going to put her beloved dog to sleep today, and I wanted to make a sculpture her (the dog) so that she'll always remember her. I don't know if I succeed, but your video was very helpful!
this is such a great tutorial! i’m going to make a beagle for my mom for christmas. if i wanted to make it an ornament, would i just stick in a metal eye hook before baking and reinforce it with a bit of extra clay so i can tie ribbon to it?
Aw thanks! Oh how awesome, I bet she’ll love that! Yes and a good trick is the take some needle nosed pliers bend the end of the eye hook to a tiny 90 degree angle, push it into the clay and then twist the eye hook 90degrees left or right to really “lock” it into place (& then reinforce with a little clay of course. Have fun! 😄
Aw I’m glad you found it helpful! 😄 I want to make a new dog & cat video eventually cause they were both made before I knew how to edit videos but here’s the link to the one I have now ☺️: How-to-Sculpt a Cat out of Clay! ruclips.net/video/rKH3aXA8_Vc/видео.html Have fun sculpting!
Hello, Love your video! ❤️ Going to try this soon! just want to know if i can put it inside my car for display? our temperature here in philippines ranges between 21 to 32 deg. celsius.
Hi, thank you! ❤️ Awesome! Hmm, once baked most clays are pretty durable so I imagine it would be alright. There may be some color fade over time but I’d go for it. (Let me know if it doesn’t turn out!) 😊
Vielen Dank! 🥰💛💛💛Viel Spaß beim Modellieren!
THIS WILL HELP ME SO MUCH, IS SO WELL EXPLAINED AND OMG. i have a competition but my mom can’t afford our art teacher so i needed a way to figure out how to do a sculpture of my dog, this is going to help me wayyyyy too much, thanks for explaining everything so perfectly 🫶🏻
You definitely can! I haven’t because I’m not very good at painting but I know many polymer artists do. I’ve heard artist acrylics and acrylic inks are some of the best but google to make sure 😄👍
Sorry for the delay. Yes, depending on the type of clay you use, I bake mine in the oven. The brands Sculpey or Cosclay go in the oven at 275F for 15minutes per quarter inch. So 135C for 15 minutes per 6.35mm.
Hi, do you mean from the work mat? I usually pick up the piece throughout the sculpting process and save texturing where I hold it to the very last step. If your piece sticks to you work surface you can take a piece of card stock and slide it carefully underneath the piece to remove it. Then I set it carefully on the baking pan (for baking) and retexture as needed. Hope that helps!
Gotcha. Air dry is pretty similar to work with but I recommend keeping the clay you’re not working with in a container or sealed bag of sorts so you can take your time with some of the details before it dries too much (taking additional/new pieces of clay out if the container or bag as needed) if that makes sense 😄👍
Hi Erin! Yes I do. When making a multicolored dog, make them in one of their colors and then, before adding the fur texture take small pieces of clay in the other color(s) flatten the pieces and press them onto your dog sculpture in the spots where your dog isn’t the base color. Then give your sculpture the fur texture. Hope that helps! Have fun 😄
I love your tutorial but the resolution is so poor it's difficult to see any details :( . I hope you post another tutorial with a wired-haired terrier type dog :) Thanks!
Aw thanks! Yeah it was videoed on a definitely older iPhone 😅 I’m wanting to re-video it on with my newer-ish phone, especially since I’ve learned how to edit videos now. Cool! I have a list of types of dogs I want to share so I’ll add that to the list with priority! 😊
Very very partical ,it like spoon feeding a baby. Please upload lots of work we are interested in learning more from you, you are my Guru👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹🌹
Hi, a few reasons. Clay’s pretty expensive so it reduces cost and the thicker the clay, the longer the baking time so the tin foil helps it bake more evenly. 🙂👍

Oh thank you so much this really helped me so much. Pls if you could make a bull terrier. That would be amazing.
You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful 😄 Ooh, I’ve never made one of those before. I’ll have to practice first and then try. 👍
@@miniezshop believe me I will share it to every single bully group I am on. And everyone knows my baby! Her name is queen Shiba.
Aww sweetness! I love the name 😄 I just realized, which type of bull terrier? 😊
Ps. I haven’t forgotten about this! Have been having technical difficulties but hope to have the bull terrier video done in the next few weeks. 😄👍
How do you remove a polymer clay sculpture from the base on which you built it, without damaging the item?
Hi, do you mean from the work mat? I usually pick up the piece throughout the sculpting process and save texturing where I hold it to the very last step. I used this video for my diorama for school…
Awesome! 😄
also, i’m going to use air-dry clay, any suggestions to make more easier the process, or to make it faster? (i hope you understand whats i meant)
Gotcha. Air dry is pretty similar to work with but I recommend keeping the clay you’re not working with in a container or sealed bag of sorts so you can take your time with some of the details before it dries too much (taking additional/new pieces of clay out if the container or bag as needed) if that makes sense 😄👍
How lond did you bake
yours for?
For 15minutes at 275F for Sculpey III clay. 🙂
Have you got any advise for doing a 2 coloured dog? So I’d like to try doing my dog, a Black and Tan dachshund
Hi Erin! Yes I do. Is that safe to cook it with tin foil inside it?
It is. Most polymer clay sculptors use tin foil, and often wire as an armature so the clay is supported and bakes more evenly. 🙂
Thank you for responding quickly!
For sure! Have fun sculpting 🙂
Very very partical ,it like spoon feeding a baby. Please upload lots of work we are interested in learning more from you, you are my Guru👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹🌹
Aw thanks very much, glad to help aspiring sculptors! ☺️😄 I’ll do my best 😊😊👍
I did it really good the first time, but the second time i sucked😩
Aw don’t give up! Sometimes all it takes is a little practice! 🤗
👍👌😃😘
😄☺️💛
Hi why do you put tin foil inside please and not just use all clay. Thanks
Hi, a few reasons. Clay’s pretty expensive so it reduces cost and the thicker the clay, the longer the baking time so the tin foil helps it bake more evenly. 🙂👍
