Spettacolare Alba in Cima con il Mare di Nuvole

- Una delle migliori albe e il più bel mare di nuvole che abbia mai visto. Ho iniziato l'escursione presso Malga Caserutte, sulla strada che da Pontebba porta al Passo del Cason di Lanza. Da qui proseguo fino alla parete meridionale della Creta di Aip (Trogkofel), dove inizia la facile Ferrata Crete Rosse. Finito il breve tratto attrezzato si giunge sul pianoro sommitale del monte e in breve in cima, a quota 2280 metri. Da qui passo in territorio austriaco e scendo per la altrettanto facile ferrata Uiberlacher e rientro sul confine italo-austriaco, dove scorre il sentiero che in breve porta al bivacco Lomasti, installato nel 1979 e ristrutturato nel 2019. Dopo aver passatoci la notte, sveglia nel cuore della notte per compiere l'ascesa di circa 50 minuti sul monte Cavallo di Pontebba (Rosskofel), ad un'altitudine di 2239 metri. Qui la sorpresa è incredibile: un mare di nuvole a 360° fa da cornice a una delle più belle albe a cui abbia mai assistito. Dopo essermi goduto lo spettacolo, ritorno al bivacco, recupero le cose lasciate li e torno al punto di partenza. Percorso di circa 18 km e 1300 metri di dislivello.

One of the best sunrises and the most beautiful sea of clouds I have ever witnessed. I started the hike at Malga Caserutte, on the road that from Pontebba leads to Passo del Cason di Lanza. From here I continue to the southern face of Creta di Aip (Trogkofel), where the easy Crete Rosse Via Ferrata begins. After the short equipped section, you reach the summit plateau of the mountain and soon reach the top, at an altitude of 2280 meters. From here I cross into austrian territory, I descend along the equally easy Uiberlacher Via Ferrata and return to the Italian-Austrian border, where runs the path that quickly leads to the Lomasti bivouac, installed in 1979 and renovated in 2019. After spending the night there, I wake up in the middle of the night to make the approximately 50-minute ascent to Mount Cavallo di Pontebba (Rosskofel), at an altitude of 2239 meters. Here the surprise is incredible: a 360° sea of clouds frames one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen. After enjoying the show, I return to the bivouac, collect the things left there and go back to the starting point. Route of about 18 km and 1300 meters of altitude difference.
