That segment was probably the highlight of the episode for me. Brennan has a moment of genuine confusion when he got the closest guess and completely forgot how the game works.
Not much gets a laugh out of me anymore, but Ally is hitting some kind of prime with their energy on Dropout recently. That 'compliment' was a comedy sniper shot.
I love the juxtaposition of Brennan going "I lost a pie eating contest, broke a tooth" and then later burping and immediately knowing in his heart that it's pie.
I do find how Brennan’s first 3 points was him realising that Oscar couldn’t resist doing doing a rule of three on a comedy bit, working his hardest to get to second place 🤣🤣
The amount of soft friendly touches Oscar gives just brings me back to ACOFAF wth RueHob and sometimes that’s all you need, also my god Brennan plays this game like a focused psychopath and I love that for him
I’ve heard the full pie-eating contest story. It’s so much worse than “I broke a tooth” He chewed on it. He chewed on his tooth. And then he said that chewing teeth feels exactly the same as chewing ice, but warm. Horrific. Edit: Turns out it was not the pie-eating competition, It was a completely different eating competition which means that this has somehow happened to Brennan twice. Second edit: Wow this whole thing was specified in the behind the scenes
Checks out, he has 2 false teeth. If he had a nickle for every time he lost a tooth in an eating contest... he'd have two. which isn't a lot,but when it comes at the cost of your teeth it is. Edit: Apparently not, since in the behind the scenes he said he was mixed up on which contest he lost that tooth in.
also my favorite moment was specifically the context directly preceding 'sam you are the perfect american' that was oscar's incredibly long heartfelt compliment
You got this out so fast, and I thank you for choosing to include so much of Oscar being a little shit. What a fun and sweet guy, a delight to see him on Game Changer.
Brennan breaking a tooth in a pie eating contest is the most midwestern thing Ive ever heard from him notwithstanding his many dead-on Midwestern characters
Legitimately thank you for not including the Speech clip, I saw that earlier today and I was actually preparing to skip past that segment. This is very well done and well edited, nice job! 😊
Brennan winning this episode felt right and somehow wrong at the same time. I can never figure out if he's having fun on game changer because he seems so competitive to the point where it feels like his brains always working to figure out how he can win. I guess winning is fun for him, but then he won this episode and he still didn't seem happy about it.
I think that's what makes these episodes so good. It's like a plot line that really leans into a character's weaknesses, which is perfect for a DM, and Brennan and Sam ultimately understand that.
BLeeM and Sam seem constantly engaged in a gleeful meta-game about their real lives and friendships, and I think a lot of the Dropout regulars get how to play it. They all seem to delight simultaneously in fluid team dynamics and an intense competition to be the best. (The best at what? That's the game.)
I mean last time Sam designed a game where Brennan literally couldn't win but this one was somehow even more evil in the sense that it was designed in a way where Brennan simply couldn't win on a deep spiritual/moral level 😄
i really appreciated how brennan brought the “pedantic must-win-at-all-costs” persona to this episodes without making everyone uncomfortable and still allowing them to have fun. he’s like teetered on the edge in the past for me but i really really liked the balance in this episode :)))
Yeah, I appreciate who Ally and Oscar still took their space, and honestly, I had some of the funniest jokes/moments throughout. They were also fully committed but less pedantic, and probably had more fun because of the contrast to Brennan. The dancing behind his speech perfectly shows that.
Sam has always had a nack for getting to Brennan but this episode was a masterclass in torturing our poor dungeon master 😁 I'm SO glad that Oscar won the LotR books and we got to witness Brennans soul slowly shriveling while Ally just implodes form laughter to hi right 😄
OH SNAP NEW LORE??? Did Brennan's pie-contest tooth-break cause the dental bill that the lovely Irish bar guy paid for, that Brennan paid back with WWTBAMillionaire money?!?
What's your favorite quote/moment that isn't in this edit?
Mine is: "Not decisions. Circumstances"
“ga, that’s pie”
Also, Beardsley chaos cackling at the diabolical game that Sam created
Ally cackling as Oscar twists the knife in Brennan's heart after getting the LOTR books.
“AND THAT’S IT” from brennan at the end of his and ally’s dance
"Winning makes me very sad"
The way Oscar looks Brennan dead in the eyes to say “I’m not a fan” of Lord of the Rings was such a knife twist. 😂
His tone and delivery sounds like someone saying, "I'm such a fan" and that really tickles me every time.
I feel like Oscar was being genuine for about 20% of that and then realized what he was doing.
I think Ally howling with laughter is what egged him on
@@gaz-l621 Yeah, I am not sure I ever felt so on the same page with Ally than when they start losing it
at first i wasn’t sure if he was doing it for that extra salt in the wound or not, but that made it _very_ clear to me that he knew what he was doing
Ally losing it at Oscar telling Brennan he never read LOTR after he won the book set kills me LMAO
That segment was probably the highlight of the episode for me. Brennan has a moment of genuine confusion when he got the closest guess and completely forgot how the game works.
@@baugkellythe fact he knows almost exactly how much it costs leads me to believe he had looked it up before

Ally's always been one of my favorites, and I absolutely agree with you. Between this and Junior Year, they have been absolutely on it this year.
That's what youuuuuuu think
girllllieeeeeee @@baugkelly
Hey girlie
i just love Katie showing up randomly sometimes and win some money
Between this, Race to the bottom, and the breaking news where Sam venmos everyone, she's really gotten quite a bit of cash out of them.
And the venmo code works! She's gonna get so much random money.
@@notnormalyet I just sent a dollar for the lolz
Katie popped in the Discord a few hours after the episode dropped and said it was over $700 at that point.
"No, you'll see this clip everywhere this year"
As someone who just came from a clip of said thing... yeah...
Bless

The RueHob energy in this episode was adorable.
I don't know how many push ups Brennan can do, but I know it's one more than whoever he happens to be competing against.
I’ve heard the full pie-eating contest story. It’s so much worse than “I broke a tooth”

Horrific.

Second edit: Wow this whole thing was specified in the behind the scenes
The pie was kind of quiet, so maybe he just was so focused that he only heard eating competition
That's really upsetting that he's two teeth breaking stories.
Checks out, he has 2 false teeth.

can confirm, Ive lost and broken a bunch of teeth and I definitely thought I had somehow chewed glass one of those times at first
Hate that!! Hate to know it. Thank you
The cut from Oscar talking about Lord of the Rings to Brennan starting the sentence with "YOU SHALL NOT..." is a great choice - 0:45
+
also my favorite moment was specifically the context directly preceding 'sam you are the perfect american' that was oscar's incredibly long heartfelt compliment
Ally fully collapsing to the floor with laughter at Oscar saying, "I'm not a fan," brings me so much joy
I loved how you made it look like Katie walked on stage and immediately left
lol yeah it feels like something that would happen, especially with Katie.
I love how this is mostly
1) Brennan chaos
2) Ally making fun of Brennan
You got this out so fast, and I thank you for choosing to include so much of Oscar being a little shit. What a fun and sweet guy, a delight to see him on Game Changer.
I first saw Oscar on Minx, was extremely excited to see him on d20, and have loved everything he's in since.
Brennan breaking a tooth in a pie eating contest is the most midwestern thing Ive ever heard from him notwithstanding his many dead-on Midwestern characters
He is indeed the most midwestern New Yorker I’ve ever seen
I love how each of them has an assigned color for captions like in old anime fansubs
And current fandom gif sets! /j
The intensity of "Who's that?! Who's that?!" could power a small town

Can’t wait for deep blue ink to fully animate this episode
Very clever of you to make the time of the video exactly 2 minutes and 22 seconds
Thank you for noticing! This was such a pain to make happen because youtube would arbitrarily add 1-2 seconds every time I uploaded.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone play this game as hard as Brennan does
I was laughing so hard during Brennan's dance sabotage moment that watching this video was how I learned he was saying anything while doing it
This episode was genuinely one of the best thing I've watched on dropout so far
I died laughing the entire way through and then went back and did it again.
i stupidly thought it was going to be meh when i heard the premise after the gong and then got proved to be the wrongest person in the world.
idk the survivor episode, escape room, and the episode with Brennan, izzy and Erika in gamechangers slap pretty hard
I just noticed the runtime. Unfortunately that's so well played that it won't get you points
0:11 "Footloose" in a nutshell
I can only upvote or downvote, but not midvote. What do I do?
Rue trying to comfort Hob when trying his best ain’t working for him

How attractive i think Brennan is in this episode needs to be studied

Love how the editing here makes it look like Katie literally showed up to get cheered for and immediately left
Brennan's "I'm sorry" to Oscar as he grabs him about the legs, preventing him from dancing had me I literally fall off my couch
Beardsley doing an impression of Trump doing an impression of Ed Sullivan and WINNING that round was the funniest part of the episode
I love how Brennan's whole thing is that he's gonna do his best, but still HATES losing, so he employs trickery and mind games to get in-between.
I love how quickly brennan abandoned birds when challenged on it lol

You weren't wrong, but that doesn't mean I was left unsatisfied.
Really just took me out that Brennan went the "cover of The Host by Stephanie Meyer" route for his selfie(?)
Never thought I'd see that referenced. Decent book though.
I like Oscar's text color it matches really well with his shirt

As a pagan, I am slightly disappointed in Brennan

How do you break a tooth eating pie? The answer to that would make a great vid. IMO.
I still want to know what the hell kind of "pie" that was.
