My coffee maker keeps telling me to insert the drip tray when it’s already cleaned and inserted. Any thoughts? I’ve heard there may be metal contacts that need ti be cleaned?

Thanks for the valuable explanation. One problem I see with the Miele, and in fact with most such machines is that the water take is in the back and has a very small opening. This makes it difficult to refill from a pitcher, such as a Brita filter. Since refilling the tank is something I do almost daily, it's a shame that coffee machine makers don't think about how to make this more ergonomic. Admittedly, Miele puts the tank on the side in the back rather than really in the back back. Nevertheless, they could make a daily job easier.

The manual for my Miele 6150 says I should degrease or descale at >50 uses. What does this mean? My wife and I brew 30+ cups per week. My old Saeco used to prompt me to descale about every 5-6 months. Can you tell me how often your 6350 requires a descale or degrease please?

I went back and fourth between a Miele machine and the Gaggia Babila. I ended up with the Gaggia mainly because I like the exterior of it alot more (looks nicer and has large buttons). My complaint however is that the Gaggia is very needy. 3 drinks and it wants you to empty the puck tray and the drip tray that is under the machine *there are two trays on the gaggia). On the Miele it looks like the tray and the used puck box (plus the fresh water container) are much larger than on my machine.
Anyhow, when buying a machine you should ask about how quickly those fill up because having to clean it every three drinks is kinda a pain (we end up doing it twice a day).

I see that some Miele models offer normal coffee beans and one place to put pre-ground coffee. But can I get a machine which allows two types of beans, e.g., normal beans and decaf beans. How large a counter space profile does such a machine require? My fear is that these machines may occupy too much space on a small counter.

What is the temperature of your milk froth if making it separately? I have 6150 model and I can not make my milk more than 120-125F. Even making milk drinks, capuccino is bit hotter but, others like latte machiato and cafe latte at best luke warm.

Hi, how did you go getting your milk hotter?

    • @GenaMak

Just making coffee part of the drink hotter in milk drinks. In cappuccino more coffee thank in macchiato. So, one is little hotter than the other.

Thanks Gena. My 6150 is arriving this week and this is my concern. Is it possible to have a ristretto then top it up with milk and milk froth? Can I make the added milk hotter that way?

I started watching this video because I have THE SAME ISSUE with my 6350. Coffee drinks and milk based drinks come out pretty hot, but when I want a simple cup of hot milk from the menu, the coffee comes at 130* max. I called Miele and they said I needed to descale and keep maintenance to date. I ve been maintaining but see no difference... pretty annoying for a $2000+ machine to have these flaws.

@@Glogluxx hi did you find any fix to it? We got the Miele cm5300 and our hotmilk is barely Luke warm and milk drinks are not very hot either. Wondering if I should return mine.
