Simple Elegant Cigar Box DIY

  • Today I show you how I made a simple cigar box/humidor with a lid and a cedar lining. I used a basic miter joint method to make the box and then fit the cedar lining on the inside of the box. It will hold 18 cigars on one side, and several smaller cigars on the other side.
It is veneered with green dyed maple veneer, and finished with several layers of shellac.

Just a FYI never use a zippo lighter on a cigar. The fuel used to light the cigar will ruin it. No cigars were harmed in this video. :D
    Great box btw.

Nice job. I always find it really nerve wracking when I have to cut boxes open on the tablesaw. Maybe that's because I usually manage to fuck it up.

Ends first then sides.. and the last cut is the scary one

I hope I'm wrong but you are going to get hurt. Nice work. Very iffy safety awareness. I started my apprenticeship way back in 1975. First rule No rings. No watches. No bracelets. No long neck chains. We all had long hair though. Haha. Good luck my friend

Yeah absolutely!... Here's my advice. Start making videos. Nothing else matters if you can't make videos and upload them consistently.

Good job but the video is useless as a tutorial. Skip the music and add a commentary on what you’re doing.

dont understand this man. for bigger sized wood push sticks are used. for very small sized wood, hands are used during the table saw cut

had to re watch the video to see what you meant. I think I did that because it seemed to give more control over the piece given the throat plate was a different height than the tabletop and only very little of the piece was able to ride the table.
