My favorite time of year....when the Oregon Zoo lets their residents put the "spice" in pumpkin spice!!! You guys do such a great job of providing enrichment for them!!!
although it is slightly violent, I have to say that the way the elephants smash the pumpkins underfoot and how the rhino spears it with its horn is kind of fascinating. perhaps bc it is an interaction with pumpkin that I would never be able to do or even conceive of doing. always, watching the beaver float the pumpkin away to its den is delightful...
